I know that I'm going to get in a lot of trouble from some of you, but all that white stuff is "Pennies from Heaven" for me as most of my cruising and vacation money comes from snowplowing. It's just me and my pick-up truck. Unless it's over 8 " I can do all 20 of my customers in 5 - 6 hours.

Cha-Ching ! ! ! ! ! ❄️❄️❄️

I guess the answer to how well these masks work is, it depends.

Based on the measurements they give you to determine the size you need, I ordered a large, and Susan ordered a small.  We probably looked pretty silly, but we wanted to do our test fit and test them out in our hot tub before taking them along for a real world use.

Mine fit perfectly, and had a good seal even with my beard.  Susan, on the other hand, could not get a good seal with her mask.  Because her face is long and narrow, she could not get it to seal by her eye sockets. (Arrows). She was sad because she had to return hers for a regular mask and snorkel.

I loved using mine when we went snorkeling with the turtles.  I started out using the GoPro mount, but after snorkeling for a while I took it off and hand held it.  I just preferred seeing what I was filming. Sorry it took a while to answer this, but we just got our real use last week.

The one I used has one way valves to bring in oxygen, and valves and a separate part of the tube to get rid of the co2.  There was someone in our group that was using an older one without those features, and he said he was getting light headed with his.

This is the one I used. Easy return to Amazon if it doesn’t fit and seal for you.

It's actually very refreshing to talk about masks of a different kind.  😉

I noticed the pic before reading.  I was not understanding what the picture was and then started to read.

When I read "I guess the answer to how well these masks work is, it depends. " I thought, please don’t go there and what are they now using …… then 😂 I realized what it was 😂.  So glad it is all about snorkeling!

If we were to get 8" of snow in Arkansas it would shut us down for at least a week.  I grew up in the snow belt of Ohio so it was funny to me to witness my first snow here.  They used a road grader to clear the road and plowed it to the middle of the road. 😂  Once when I was auditioning at a school they shut the school down due to snow and it hadn’t started snowing yet! A superintendent a couple counties over said it was starting to snow bad.

For those of us who never get snow, it’s Mother Nature’s miracle. It makes everything beautiful.

All 3 pictures are really nice!  So,..as long as we're doing snow, here's one from our place following a storm last winter. I think this particular snow left about 38 inches at the deepest point in my driveway.

Love how, following certain wind conditions (which we get lots of), there almost appears to be not much difference between snow and sand formations.

Unfortunately, nowadays here on the "Right Coast", they will cancel school a full day before any snow even starts to fall. Then when the storm turns out to sea or doesn't even develop, everybody is up in arms because they had to miss work and stay home with the kids. But if you sent them to school and it snowed, they are screaming bloody murder. It's a no-win situation.

Yeah...I've been involved in all that having been a public school teacher my whole career. Snow days....lol...such memories. I'd hate to be a superintendent and have to make those calls as to canceling, one-hour delay, etc.

I thought it funny when I noticed it say 25°, feels like 25° 😂

Here in Florida the weather people say that because of humidity in the summer time.
It can be 85, but the “feels like” temperature is 95.
It sounds perfectly normal to us.

It also makes accomplishing the necessities of daily life a PITA.

I remember when a friend moved to Massachusetts. She said she was afraid to run out to get the paper during the winters without putting on several layers. She was afraid she’d freeze before she got back in the house.
She was used to looking both ways and then running out in her nightgown.

Further investigation made me want to pack up and head south. One day in, and I’m calling for “Mercy”.

Sounds like me about 5 years ago.  Growing up in Buffalo, I really liked winter...skiing, snowmobiling, hockey.  The older I got, the less that I appreciated the snow and cold weather.

I am back after a break, having now handed in my PhD thesis.  Still got to be examined on it, but that is 8 1/2 yrs (a few months added due to broken arms and the pandemic) work.

I am glad that the thread is still going, It is lovely to see updates from familiar names.  So nice to hear about weddings, breakfasts and trips.  Sorry to hear about little fur baby not being too well - our furry friends are so precious.

I am happy to be back.

Congrats on finishing your thesis.  That is a HUGE step!

That's the way things were when I lived in Cincinnati.  Growing up in Buffalo, school was on unless it snowed more than about 6 inches.  They were equipped with plows and salt trucks to clear the roads overnight.  The worst that I remember was the blizzard of 77, when there was so much snow that people were literally snowed into their houses.  Snowmobiles were needed to deliver food to many houses.  As a kid though, it was a winter wonderland.

Congratulations and good wishes to the newlyweds!

Was the reception at Oheka Castle?

I have been to several luncheons there.

The grounds certainly accommodate lovely photo ops especially with the LI Sound  in the background.

The photos will be fabulous !

Was Oheka Castle used in the TV show Royal Pains?  It looks like the place where the very rich (to differentiate him from normal rich) guy lived.
