Dani,

From one fan to another:

Captain Kate said she will be "shifting" to France in mid Jan to take care of her Baby Beyond. That is what I understood from her TikTok post. And she shows part of Bug's winter wardrobe.

What a cute hat and safety vest for Bugs!

Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans.....  Today, we had planned to finally put everything back together in our garage and play with the garage opener app.  My son decided to heat some leftover pizza before he helped us move the heavier stuff.  He asked me to check the pizza, pulled it out and the electric element on the bottom of the stove was on fire and arcing, this after I had already turned off the oven.  Sparks and fire were traveling the length of the element and getting bigger, so I screamed for my husband to hit the circuit breaker as I grabbed a fire extinguisher.  He got the breaker and I hit the fire with the fire extinguisher and luckily, it went out!  Me and half the kitchen had white powder all over and the fire alarms were blaring but all was safe!  My husband and son got the stove out of the house, just in case it wanted to flash.  We really lucked out!  We just finished cleaning up all the mess as the powder settles everywhere!

My husband went to a small, local appliance store we buy from and was able to buy a new stove that hopefully, gets delivered to the store on Monday.  They had two models to choose from that we could get before January!  We would have had to wait until after Thanksgiving to get it installed and delivered, so he is going to pick it up.

We are definitely counting our blessings today.

Thank God you all are safe, and that your house and kitchen did not get destroyed.  Quick action on your part!  How fortunate that you are able to replace your stove so quickly.

Thanks, we were really lucky!  Had I put something in that was going to cook for a while and gone to do laundry or work in the yard, I really think it would have been a different story!  We have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen, we had actually replaced an old one that was never used last year when we replaced some smoke detectors.  Had I not had the new one, who know what would have happened!

We lucked out on the stove as they only had one stove on the floor that they could get but checked with their supplier and they had three of this other model but said order now as they service 200 small appliance stores.  No way I could wait for January or February for one.  Just hope it actually comes into the store on Monday so my husband can pick it up.  Lowe's and Home Depot had nothing and we prefer to use an appliance store that services what they sell.  We always get an extended service plan and if you don't use it, they will apply the plan to your next purchase.

Just in case people don't have a kitchen fire extinguisher, this is what we had in our kitchen.  It is an BC kitchen extinguisher for liquid fires and electrical fires.  It is a white extinguisher, not the red, multi use kind.  We have a couple of the red ones in other parts of the house but this one in the kitchen.

Less than $20 at Home Depot.  We had gotten a two pack (one red and one white) at BJ's in the past.

I didn't spend a lot of time taking pictures of the boat itself.  I wish I had.  I was more focused on the sunset.  Here a a couple more from my camera roll.

Judging by the pictures - especially the middle one - it looks to be on the large side for a catamaran. I went to a website of a water-sport company I use when in Aruba - DePalm - and they brag that their 70 foot catamaran is the largest on the island.

There is one about 30 mins north of Dallas , we pass it when going to the casino in Oklahoma, will stop in next trip. Oklahoma casino is only a hour away and it’s the largest casino in the world, it’s about a mile walk from one end to the other.

We only went to Choctaw casino, also about an hour away.  Windstar is the big one.

I always thought the large casinos were in Vegas.  1 mile, wow!  Go know.

You'd think Vegas would have the biggest casino's with their mammoth resorts that seem to stretch on forever.  I always heard Foxwoods in the woods of Connecticut was the largest.   At least that what they advertise. But sure enough, looking at square footage dedicated to gaming, Winstar is far & away the largest. None of the Vegas casinos even crack the top 10.

https://www.gambling.com/us/news/largest-casinos-in-the-us-2237800

Casino Location Square feet
1. WinStar World Casino & Resort Thackerville, Okla. 400,000
2. Mohegan Sun Uncasville, Conn. 364,000
3. Foxwoods Resort Casino Mashantucket, Conn. 340,000
4. Thunder Valley Casino Resort Lincoln, Calif. 250,000
5. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, Fla. 245,000
6. San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino Highland, Calif. 222,000
7. Riverwind Casino Norman, Okla. 219,000
8. Choctaw Casino Resort Durant, Okla. 218,000
9. Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort Mt. Pleasant, Mich. 210,000
10. Encore Boston Harbor Everett, Mass.

210,000

Fun fact = Thackerville, OK has a population of 438 people.  I wonder how many employees WinStar has?

Foxwoods may be the largest casino resort when you factor in the sq ft of non-gaming spaces was they have 3 hotel towers, 80+ store mall, 30+ restaurants, bars & night clubs, several massive theaters, sporting arena, zip line, Indian Museum, bowling alley and a few other amenities I'm probably forgetting.

I'm surprised that the Mohegan Sun is larger than Foxwoods.

I just wanted to add that Foxwoods reduced the sq. ft of their gaming spaces a few years ago. They use to advertise 5 casinos  under one roof - really 5 different rooms, each with it's own name - and they eliminated one of them. Once New York and Massachusetts legalized gambling, it drew people away.

Not that I want to start a debate on a hot-button issue, but it was the non-smoking casino room they eliminated.

That surprised me too. It sure doesn't seem bigger. But see my post above as Foxwoods has been reducing their gaming space in recent years.

It was located in a somewhat difficult to find space. I didn't know that it was shut down.

The Rainmaker room.  Now that I think about it, it was drastically reduced in size but it's still there. Just a shell of its former self.  One of the security guards told me the plan was to put an indoor amusement park there but plans for that never materialized.

I am amazed that Vegas didn't make the top 10!

We've been to Choctaw in OK and to me it didn't seem much larger than the Vegas casinos.

No, you didn't 😉 Pls. do tell 🌷

I was sure that with such a name, France will be "in the picture".... kind of ....

My dad was in the Army and was stationed in France and England. He dated a lady named Renee and one named Vivian. My mom agreed to only one name and not both since he wanted to call me Vivian Renee. I’m named after my mom (first name) and Renee was picked as my middle name. They stayed in touch with Renee and would occasionally visit her in France when we would go to Germany to visit my Omi and Opa.

We have been married 40 years and never left our oven on when we leave the house.

Your accident is what we have always worried about and why the oven is only on when we are at home.

I'm pleased everything turned out okay fortunately for you.

Omg how scary that must have been.  Great fact acting teamwork.🤩

Wonderful news you found a new oven in stock and are able to pick up and install before Thanksgiving.😍

Years ago I went to visit my parents and my Mother said what are you doing here I thought you said you were doing laundry this morning.  I told her I put last load in dryer and left.

She told me a story about her dryer having an electrical fire when were small children and how I should never leave the house while running major appliances.   I had never thought about it so now I never leave home while doing laundry.

Great advice on extinguisher.🤩

Happy to say this fall our local hardware store had a sale and we picked up a couple for our residence and our shore house.
