Having a fantastic time!  We are in Cabo San Lucas now.  Weather gorgeous.  A few photos for ya.

It was such an amazing surprise getting out of the station, starting to walk some steps and ... the Bridge and the Opera House were right in front of us. An unexpected bonus. DH immediately said: "let's take a picture with you and the Opera House". I said: "I'm tired after all those flights, let's get to the hotel first". But he insisted. I think Ovation pf the Seas was towering above me...

 

I immediately sent an Whatsapp to all my friends: "The little Romanian from Bucharest has made it to the Opera House in Sydney !!! Who would have thought?? "

Dick will be 88 tomorrow. Normally we’d have everyone together at our daughter and son-in-law’s house for dinner with him choosing the menu. 
Any celebrating will happen after everyone is well, and really importantly, son-in-law is off crutches and able to cook our feast. 

Please wish Dick a Happy Birthday from me!  I hope your SIL will be off his crutches soon!

Great photo Dani!  Yes, Circular Quay station is a great location.  Has a nice view of the harbour as soon as you step off the train onto the platform there too.

@Sunshine3601 Hate that you are having to cut the cruise short.  Thankful you got to enjoy the first half.  I enjoyed 3 lobsters too.  I told Sharon…. Sunshine just posted the guy next to her ate 7 lobster!  She laughed and said, well you have done that. 
 

@dani negreanu You have a good looking grandson.  Thankful all went well.

 

Some may remember me mentioning my youngest daughter is having a baby and we got to hear the heart beat right before we left last week. She has a very sore throat and her body aches so she stayed home today.  Here work sent someone to her house to test her and it was positive for Covid.  I saw where some here were talking about the free test and found out our daughter had already ordered them for us.

Positive thoughts and prayers for your Daughter and baby are all safe and well😍

@dani negreanui had that same sense of wonder on my first day in NYC. I had flown in the night before to meet up with my daughter who had just finished working as a  camp counsellor at a summer camp in Minnesota.  I woke up early due to jet lag and wanted to stretch my legs after the long flights. Daughter was sound asleep.  Walked from our Upper West Side Hotel up the quiet residential streets to Central Park where the joggers were doing their laps.  Stood on Bow Bridge by myself and almost burst into tears.  Couldn’t believe this little movie lover was in Central Park.  What made it extra special was the lovely local walkers who would approach me and offer to take my photo since I was by myself.

There was a tornado watch which is rare for us and it also downpoured on boarding day. It was overcast when we left. Being towed in is a HA ship.

 

I thought the ship hit the tug from this angle, but she was being towed in.

 

Towed all the way to the dock. In one of the pictures I took you can see a cable.

 

5 ships were in port when we left. 3 Holland America, 2 RC and 1 Princess. There were 2 tender boats that kept going from 2 of the HA ships and then going around to another one. They were always empty coming back.

Thanks for all the pictures.  I actually don't think it is being towed in but has a line run to the tugboat because of weather or an issue with an engine or bow thruster.  The port won't allow a ship to come in without assistance if there is a known issue that will effect its maneuverability and docking.

Jack will certainly love the family photo book!  Our daughter presented Jim and I with a photo book of our 50th Wedding Anniversary as one of our Christmas presents.  We love it!!!❤️

NYC is such an amazing city. I can't believe how long this virus had kept me away. I have not been in over two years when I would, typically, jump on a train and go several times a year.

Not sure but maybe it was a bow thruster or other problem as reallyitsmema suggested.

Agreed, I opened the blinds on my bedroom one morning and saw Jim doing a live report from the beach. Quite a shock, still went to work but did stop at Publix on the way for snacks as supplies at home were low. Guess I should have known to hide them!
