Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

My friends have returned from their Ovation cruise.  They booked a guarantee balcony.  It’s slightly obstructed.  I love their balcony.  Great for photos.

And because they were at the very front of the ship they had a Birds Eye view of the first medivac.  They had 3 medical emergencies on board.

Of course I did not forget those who celebrate Hanukkah. And yes I collect Hanukkah music too. Here is this year mix for you to download, unzip and enjoy. I still need to put print the track listing which I post later but I wanted to release it as well as my Christmas mix. So please enjoy these wonderful collection of songs.

Many thanks for bringing Christmas and Hanukkah joy (the latter often overlooked) to our thread.  So very special and much appreciated!

Have you heard Adam Sandler's Hanukkah songs?  There are a few but I like the 1st one best.  So silly but funny.

I have a guarentee booked on Odyssey. I am concerned that I will end up with an obstructed view but to pick my cabin would have been over $1000 more.😮 I have no idea why they designed this class with obstructed views when this was not an issue on V/F/or O class ships.

So as the school district physician part of my responsibilities is providing medical coverage at home football games.  What I actually do is cover home games, climb on school busses and travel with them to away games because I don't trust anyone else to help them if they get hurt and I don't want them to have to deal with a stranger, go to practices, tape them up prior to games, help them recover from their injuries, watch game films with them, go to lifting workouts, and be their ear for them when they they feel like bi!ching about a coach and sometimes they just want to chat about personal issues that have nothing to do with football.

AWESOME!🏈

I ordered my first lava flow today, I usually drink daiquiris or a pina colada. Boy, was I surprised when it had significantly more alcohol than what I am used to. I only have a couple of drinks per year (I think I’ve had 3 this year), so I’m a lightweight. Wheeeeee

Keep training you will build up endurance! Cheers!!

Yes Adam’s song is a classic. I’ve never put it on my compilation only because so many people have heard it.

Busy weekend.  We are back home and I just threw in some laundry.

Chris and Donna, the Newlyweds, arrived Saturday morning and both helped out with cleaning and putting stuff away in the shed.   Already for winter rentals.  I put up a holiday wreath and Chris put some garland and lights on balcony railings as a surprise for them.

We had a wonderful celebratory dinner at the Engleside Inn last night.  Then watched some holiday movies.   One I haven't seen in a while.   Santa Claus with Tim Allen from 1994.  We all enjoyed.

I am awe of ladies who bake Christmas gifts in bulk for family and friends.

I love fruitcake.

When I was working at my long time job we had in office Christmas parties as well as parties after work in restaurants. In addition all the women on staff prepared deserts and brought them in to the office.I loved the fruitcake .

Since our son-in-law went to the Cleveland game, we took our daughter and grandkids out to lunch. The hibachi wasn’t open early, so grandson said he wanted Primanti Brothers.

Our grandson has a ton of shoes, and is always looking for the latest, statement pair.  So, of course, we bought him some nice bright yellow ones today. 🤣

It sounds like your granddaughter is feeling much better!  I'm curious about your sandwich, Mark.  What kind of sandwich is this?

We went up to Ct. to see our daughter, SIL and our three oldest grandchildren.  It's been a while, since two of them are in College, and the youngest is a HS Senior;  they all were home together for their Thanksgiving weekend.  Their lives are all so busy, while we were there, the youngest left for a couple of hours to babysit, our grandson went to  the store to stock up on snacks and drinks for his dorm room, and our oldest granddaughter was working in the hospital this weekend.  We did get to see her for a short visit when she got home after 8pm last night, but she had to be up at 5:30 this morning to get back to the hospital, so she retired early.  Time is so short..you blink, and the kids are all grown up.....

That one was a pastrami and cheese.  All their sandwiches are loaded with slaw, fries and tomatoes.  Very good.

What do you think about having renters in your beach house? People keep wanting to rent our mountain house, (especially during the winter for skiing) and we keep declining. We would have to remove more personal things from our bedroom, and isn't there a lot of wear and tear? And I suppose you would have to have contracts and everything?

You're right Mark. "The Maze" is kind of slow. I always love John Corey's dialogue, but this one is almost over the top. I was laughing at the video chat with his parents in Florida from New York. "They are shouting at the computer, because Florida is a long ways away." ☺️

Sounds delicious!  I'll have to try putting cole slaw on a sandwich.😊

Have a great week. I’ll be interested in your thoughts on Beyond as we have our first celebrity cruise on her in April of ‘24.

Let me give you a little good news the largest bar with normally the best bartenders is the Martini bar and they do have your Kraken. So far nice cruise won a few dollars in the casino,  for those who like to gamble celebrity has a great deal if you prebuy 50 dollars in chips they will give you 55 , we had lots of on board credit so I bought my normal 500 in chips and got 550 which allows me to take less cash on the cruise.
