Thank-you. It was such a strange experience to get accustomed too. That being said we will be laying low from the restaurants for a while again.

My grandmother from England also liked her steak well done.  She didn’t like to see the “red” on her plate. As she lost her sight with age in her early 90s, we cooked them medium rare and she said the were always the best she had ever had. She wished she had started earlier having them cooked less.

We have vegetarian friends who also love the Keg for their veggie and pasta dishes. We have office Christmas parties there and some staff also love the pistachio encrusted salmon.  So many great choices it’s hard to choose.

We always had our steaks well done.

Pauline still does but  several years ago I started getting my steaks Medium and always get steaks Medium cooked now.

It was a veggie medley of mushrooms, zucchini and orange pepper.

I don’t think it will disappoint you.  It is mainly a Canadian chain with a few American locations.  I have eaten at many of the ones across Canada and they are exceptionally consistent here so I’d hope for the same in the few American locations as well.

Funny, the orange pepper looked like egg yolk. 😄

Restaurants close if not consistently good. Service also has to be kept up.  The Keg near me has remained open for quite a number of years.  We don't lack fine steakhouses here but your food porn was a push in the right direction.

On my final push to lose a few more pounds before the wedding .  Doing the fast 800 diet for two weeks which is quite popular over here. 800 calories a day 😱

Just made veggie and bean soup

Good luck!  It sounds like you're doing very well.

I'm a soup eater and yours looks delicious,

800 calories must be hard to maintain,  Lucky it's just for 2 weeks.

My husband likes his steaks rare.  Or what he calls rare…I’d say more raw.  My side of the family used to joke “Have a slow gaited waiter walk it through a warm kitchen.”  I want my steak medium rare.  Thirty-six years of marriage and he’s never been able to cook me a medium rare steak.  I suspect he assumes one day I’ll proclaim “You were right!  This is delicious!”

Mine tells the waiter "no blood".  I keep telling him there is a more delicate way or ordering steak but he keeps ordering it that way.  Mine is always medium rare.

My friend's husband only eats super well done steak.  At a bbq at my house his steak came out really charred and looked burnt.  I apologized when I showed it to him and asked if I could make him something else.  He said "just put it back on the grill for a few more minutes and it will be perfect" 😲

I'm the same as you.  For years I used to always order well done, probably because that was what my Mom did.   Then I met Eric who always liked med rate.  So I now do medium sometimes med rare for a filet mignon or london broil.

after Eric had his transplant he was told to get well done and Avoid raw seafood.  This has been difficult for him so he settles for medium now.

We both love raw oysters so every so often he lives on the edge and will have one of my raw oysters.

Dallas and Steakhouse go together like oil and Saudi Arabia.  There should be no shortages in your next of the woods. LOL, steakhouses and oil too I guess.

Salt Lick is a great bbq place in the Austin area.  I bet that's not your reference 🤣

Salt Lick is also a great steak house in Banff Alberta. They have amazing scalloped potatoes too. 😋

I will not eat any meat unless it looks like a hockey puck.

When my husband was having trouble getting his steak as he wanted in MSC YC, the maître d’ finally told him to say “con il sangue.”

Happy for you!  It is so exciting when family can accomplish cool things like a state championship!  Love the fun picture too.
