What's Your Favourite Part Of A Cruise Day

Mine would be sitting on the balcony with my better half enjoying and nightcap and reflecting on the memories made that day and looking  forward to the memories that the next day is going to bring.

On a port day, I love going on the balcony in the morning just as the ship pulls into a new port. I also like when you wake up in the wee hours of the morning, and look to out to see if you can see lights from land yet.

On a sea day, I love trying to squeeze everything in. So busy with trips to the thermal suite, Latitudes parties, time in the sun, time on the promenade watching for flying fish, casino, dinner, show, casino, chicken wings.

I love the excitement of embarkation day and stepping into the cabin and balcony for the first time.

Then it's sitting on the balcony, with a cocktail, listening to music with earbuds in of course and watching the ocean.

Wow there are so many things I love about sea days.  And to think when we first started cruises we didn't want sea days and not I'd love to do a transatlantic for all the day.

Playing the various trivia games, love the scavenger hunts, eating great food, relaxing on the balcony where it is nice and quiet and a quick nap (maybe only 1/2 hour don't want to waste away the day sleeping).

No cleaning, no cooking, sleeping with the gentle roll of the Ship, looking outside each day to a new view, enjoying a bloody Mary for breakfast,  unpacking the first day and starting to feel like this is home for 7, 10, 16, 19 days or more, meeting the room steward,, Butler (yes we have done suites and Haven), getting dressed for dinner, believe me not formal, just casual with a little bling, enjoying evening entertainment, having nightcaps, and not driving home!!!

My favorite time of the day changes w/ each cruise...

I truly enjoy the uniqueness of every cruise...

Overall I would say anytime I am onboard & enjoying the fresh air & ocean views!

My first cruise was 1991 - it happened at a time I really needed a break from work.

I was the most relaxed I had ever been in my life - no work, no pagers, no bag phone (what passed for a cell back then 🙂) & no way for anyone to get hold of me...  Total Freedom!

For me, the best part of each day is spending time with my DW, and joining her for the activities she enjoys. I also enjoy a nice scotch or bourbon while learning about the interesting adventures of my fellow cruisers. I am an early riser and will often go out on deck to watch the arrival in port, generally much more peaceful than the sail away when the music is blaring on the deck.

I love the feel on the first day, moreover if its a ship we never been to. Love it when we go to the dining room with the carry ons and then after we get our room. Then going out and watching as we leave the embarkation port behind, knowing all the awesome experiences to come

Sitting on the balcony in the morning with my hubby and reading him the daily schedule while we sip coffee and watch the water.  All this knowing that there's absolutely nothing we have to do, nowhere we have to be.  No alarms, no schedule, no meetings...
