Beautiful sentiment. We need to count our blessings.

Knowing that family and loved ones are healthy is what it's all about- not cruising, or coronavirus, or money to cruise with. As much as I miss cruising, family is numero uno.

My last cruise was in August and when they cancelled my April cruise I was so sad and even a little mad that I could have taken that cruise in January (but on a different ship).  So then I perked up, thinking I still have one for September on another cruise line.  When that was cancelled again I regretted not cruising that line before.

So I told me to stop beating myself up and start to look forward to still another cruise that I booked before this pandemic for January.  I'm 80% sure this cruise will also be cancelled.

But now I'm just looking forward to getting out of lockdown and being able to go to a park or take a stroll on the boardwalk.

You are not alone. I’m so tired of some of these threads starting out with a question on a cruise and then the entire conversation turns into covid19. I’ve never seen so many people become doctors and specialists on the subject. I just wish we could get back to just talking cruising

Cruising is my happy place and planning a cruise is my escape.  I have 3 booked, Alaska in August which I am pretty sure will be canceled, Caribbean out of NY in April and I even have a May 2022 booked.  I have decided to focus on the cruise ports on cc more than the opinions of everyone on the boards and wait for official word on what is going on.

When threads start in with the whole Covid thing I just stop reading it.  I see and hear enough from everywhere else.

I was so glad NCL was able to secure some financing

We have really enjoyed the cruises we have done on NCL. The last few cruises we used the NCL cruise vouchers that our local casino gives out. The most recent offer did not have any cruises that fit into our schedule or desired embarkation ports. We ended up booking a cruise to the ABC islands with just a small discount given by CAS. This cruise was picked based on itinerary, and not chosen off the choices listed on a voucher. Of course , it was cancelled just two weeks before sailing!

Now we are hoping to take our granddaughter on a cruise next spring to celebrate her high school graduation, and possibly squeeze in another one before that to celebrate my upcoming retirement. Cruises are such a great way to celebrate. I love that once you board the ship the biggest concerns are "where do you want to sit?" and "what do you want to drink?"

Am thinking of doing NCL Joy or RCL Oasis of the Seas with the granddaughter, and would like to go on Spirit or Sun with just the husband. Doing some research and daydreaming, but no actual bookings yet.

I miss cruising. Our last one was about 5 years ago. This was to be the year of cruising for us with our NCL cruise in the Western Caribbean then later this summer, celebrating our 35th anniversary with our first river cruise.

Rescheduled the 1st one for Dec so still hoping for at least one.

It's been 1 year for us we went to Bermuda last spring from Boston again. This June was cancelled of course. You are right I also look forward to chatting and learning different things on this site and miss this greatly.

Well I am looking forward to cruising again in 2021 (re-booked to next May) and once Princess has settled down will book 2022 trip for hubby and I as we retire this year but have pushed all travel out.

Please everybody stay safe and be well. Thank you for a more positive post.

I agree with you all. Cruise critic used to have complaints, but enough valuable info and entertainment that I looked forward to checking it on my morning coffee break at work, now it’s mostly complaints.

I am so glad I took an impulse cruise in January, just because I wanted to get away and the price was right. I was very frugal because I needed to save money for my now canceled Alaska cruise, still I had a great time. It is hard to be enthusiastic about researching and planning for my next cruises (January out of NYC and May 2021 Alaska) knowing they may be canceled but I am trying to still research and just make notes about what I want to do/book.

We hated to do it but we just pulled back our December cruise.  We have decided to book in cabin the Smokey Mountains with the family.  We wanted a vacation on the books and we had to get something booked in the mountains before we missed the place we wanted.

We are constantly looking at future cruises and will be booking more as soon as we can.  We love cruising.  As someone mention, it's my happy place where I can stick my phone in the safe and not be bothered with work.  We never get WiFi and it's just total peace.

I miss cruising too.  I always used to go to this site daily, sometimes just to follow live reviews, upgrade trends, menus new entertainment etc. and have received some excellent tips over the years on what to do, not do pack etc.

I love cruising and when it’s safe I will go back!!

I soo miss cruising.  Had to cancel our Sept.2020 cruise, just knew it wouldn't go.  this is the first time in at least 10 years that we haven't had one or two cruises booked ahead and looking forward to.  Every morning was looking on cruise critic for information about our next Ship, destinations, etc.   Big bummer right now, but healthy so should not complain.  But I do, lol

I feel the same as you do about being enthusiastic.  We are waiting for our August Alaska cruise to be canceled and have an April 2021 booked along with a May 2022 but it is hard to plan and research and plan those with the pending cancellation and all of the doom and gloom.

So true, and I’m a planner. Researching and figuring out what I want to do is one of my favorite parts cruising. I think once ships start sailing again I will be more enthusiastic bout planning.

I miss it too and am chomping at the bit to travel again. And frankly I’d feel safer on a cruise ship right now than in the local grocery store. I won’t feel safe flying to any cruise port for a while though, have to drive.

(First I want to make sure I keep this in perspective, some people are trying to figure out how to pay for rent/food/kids etc.)  Our last cruise was in Feb, we cruise a minimum 50 days per year.  Before the plague hit we really wanted to downsize and cruise about half the year.  Cruising is just great, always on the move, seeing different places, music/entertainment, the gym, being on the water, no grocery shopping, no cooking, no doing dishes, no cleaning.   Now, instead our lives are filled with trying to figure out when to walk in the neighborhood to avoid the coughers  that refuse to  where masks.

I feel so lucky to have cruised Feb 1-8 2020 on the Escape in Haven.  I totally get the feeling here and could only imagine if you planned everything so well and the cruise could be canceled.  Hang in their folks, ships will be entertaining us again soon enough.
