I know he said that his new assignment is on a ship he has never worked on before. Has he ever worked on Independence? If not, did he leave a huge clue in the last frames of his vlog?

Yep.  DH and I had the pleasure of meeting him on Independence.

another crew member which shows the difficulty of just getting to the ship:

Very interesting video showing the logistics of getting crew members to their ships. Can you imagine how many thousands of crew members going through the same thing?

Any many don't have as smooth of a process.   It is a lot for them to go through, especially if they are traveling on a first contract.

Looks like Labadee? Also regarding your last video. Flights to non US ports are a bit of a drag as they are another significant expense. This is why your main mass market competing brand probably won’t do it. Price point and convenience are their primary advantages. You cater to a slightly more spendy clientele able and willing, at least in smallish numbers, to accept the flight problem. I’m sure you will be successful and I’m sure RCI and others will copy the strategy quickly. However this route is not fully scalable. It will always be a more limited audience than resumption from US Ports.  As for your vaccines, you’ll likely end up with getting the crew vaccinated upon boarding in many cases or as you noted, vaxxed in Florida.

My hope has been July or August. Fingers crossed...

If he doesn't go back uintil July or August, startup date would still be 60 to 90 days out............Like a November startup.

Good point, but 60-90 days is for the entire process. I wouldn’t expect to see casino staff brought onboard for the duration of that, maybe 30 days early tops.

They may have other jobs to learn, since the staff will be reduced. Thus they will need more time then 30 days.

The new norm of working on a cruiseship is going to be completely different once they start backup.

As long as I get my November 7 with Explorer I am good with that. I do wish they could get started from US ports earlier. It would put me at ease knowing I was not one of the first cruises after startup.
