I took advantage of this the other day for the first time in a few years.  My rule of thumb is the price has to be very close to an ocean view to book the balcony.  With the D+ discount this one ended up being cheaper than the ocean view.

See that a lot

I can't keep up with the extra goodies they leave in the cabin.

I get a kick out of "delivering" a covered plate of chocolate covered strawberries to a random group sitting in a lounge somewhere.  They are always so tickled to get them.

We do that, but generally to someone we know

That's what we do!

Explain this to me? Do you get a BOGO for each D+ member in the cabin. For e smoke DH and I are both D+. Does this mean that we can get two BOGO’s (pay for two meals and get two meals)?

How does that work?

At 340 points if you are travelling solo you get your booking repriced at 150%. It can be a significant saving.  On rci site if you enter the code DP340 it should apply the discount for you.

Yes - day 1 you pay for dinner for 1 and 2 dine.

Day 2 he pays for dinner for 1 and 2 dine.

it is meant to be offered in day 1&2 only but people have ( in the past) been offered it on later days in the cruise. Depends how busy they are.

Yes, each D+ member gets a BOGO but it is only good for the first and for the second night of the cruise. You can not reserve on the Cruise Planner,  you have to book it on the ship.

And if you are n a location with Caesars properties you can apply Caesars tier matching offer to gain Diamond status every other year with them which has better perks vs Mlife

The status match benefits have probably turned out to be the most valuable benefit of being D+.

I have been able to get the Caesar's tier match every year even though I know that is not supposed to be the case. I think maybe that is because I sign up at the 'minor' casino's and have done the tier match at a different location each year. I fully expect this will not work at some point, but so far so good.

I mainly use the benefits in Vegas. The $100 Celebration dinner each year and the 2 free Vegas show tickets have been great.

D+  with 340 points get the solo supplement at 150% instead of 200%.

Basically they pay 75% of what someone below 340 points would.

Maybe they should get 1 1/2 (regular cabin) or 2 1/2 points (Suite) in this case. 😇

Just doing the math.

We did a MSC status match 5 years ago when we were only D, and got Black match on MSC. I have read that MSC has now changed and you have to be Pinnacle to get their Diamond status (which was their original Black level).  However I think I read last month that someone did get MSC Diamond status match for their D+.

If you don’t sail again in 2? Years, it is cancelled,  which is ok too, not going again, although....they have the Non US southern Caribbean offering currently..

You have to sail every three years to keep your status. We did get a notice that all tier levels are getting a 12 month extension on their expiration dates. We were on MSC the end of February so we are good for almost four years.

Hmm, in 4 years who knows what the cruise industry will look like, might give me time to get to pinnacle and try a status match again

That's another element, the extra goodies in the cabin, they could rather enhance this away and provide something else with more quality. Like what I suggested with the premium drink vouchers etc. It's at the end also food waste, most people don't even eat those goodies delivered to the cabin.

That's why I give mine away.  Sometimes I just leave them on a table in a lounge somewhere.

You for 1 in the planner and then stop by the restaurant to advise them that 2 will be dining using BOGO.

I give away stuff all the time. I gave away the last rcl logo baseball cap to a Irish family I was sitting with at dinner who was thrilled. Only so much of that kind of stuff worth storing.

Anything. I think that was the last time they gave out those hats, but its not like I wear baseball hats anyway. I've given food away too, but sometimes folks are leery of food if they dont know you. Like I might have touched it and left germs. Sometimes with food it's gone to waste tbh. Just sitting it out for the taking, ..if it's a food item I think if people dont know you etc, they might be leery of taking it.

My biggest giveaway was a voucher from our Big Box TA for 4 soda packages, and we EACH got one.  No cabin number, no name.  I walked up to a family with 2 children after the muster drill and gave one to them.  The Dad was very happy:  he was on his way to purchase them as I walked up.

Even with Suite Solo , that over 200 nights. 😇

Yep we had a truck load of cruises booked, all gone, or look highly unlikely to happen, included three 30+ days a few in the 12 to 20 range and some shorter ones
