There is a tanker approaching so perhaps it's preparing to take on bunker and the destination is related to that operation. Not really sure. Rare livingonthebeach Posted October 29, 2020 #880 Share Posted October 29, 2020 Wonder if she’ll make it back to Miami for her December 7, 2020 sailing? Seems like she’s been in Europe for a very long time. Guess the rumors that she was sold, were just that, rumors.

What I don't get is why she is putzing around Europe. Isn't that an unnecessary expense if the plan is to have her scrapped?
Rare twangster Posted October 29, 2020 #885 Share Posted October 29, 2020 RCG investors call today - no mention of additional scrapings. I think certain ships could have a future in sister brands, even one that might be re-organized depending how the next six months work out. There is more than just one ship breaking yard but I think they are waiting to see how the future plays out before making that decision.

Guess what country Empress is registered? Yes, Malta. So they have much more freedom with regard to movement of equipment, supplies, staff, etc in Malta ( I think, and from what I've read here on CC and elsewhere on line)

When she came back to Royal they flagged her in the Bahamas. Been that way since 2016.

CruisingFA Posted November 1, 2020 #890 Share Posted November 1, 2020 Thought I remember reading somewhere monarch/sovereign met up with constellation to transfer the crew before heading to Aliaga...anyone else see that or know if it’s true? All 5 ships are still beached (Looks like they are actively working on two) and I believe that there is another 3-4 anchored offshore waiting. ipeeinthepool Posted November 2, 2020 #900 Share Posted November 2, 2020 Thanks, Biker. It would seem to be more economical to just bring the Majesty and maybe the Empress to the collection of ships off Greece after they have removed everything of value to RCL. Going to Malta wasn't a good sign for the Pullmantur ships.
