As long as it doesn't directly touch my skin, I am good.  I can't even wear my Fit Bit, I get hives.  I wore a Wow band for an hour and started to itch crazy, so don't want to even try these.  I will bring a lanyard to hang it from or something like that.  I just think they will likely be looking for people having them on, so I think it will need to be visible.

I think the lanyard would be the best choice. I would protect you from the metal and yet be visible. If you pinned it to clothing you might accidentally come in contact with it

I've had severe hives. Miserable.

According to the map we’re sailing quite near where Voyager, Radiance, Spectrum and Solstice are parked, but I’m on the wrong side of the ship and they might be too far anyway. Wonder if Royal can use them as port stops for future cruises?

That's what they did with the shakedown cruise, not sure about yours. Quantum was stopped for around one or two hours if I remember correctly.

Are the shows any different than what they would have normally had on a Quantum Singapore Sailing?

We've been looking at a 2021 Symphony sailing but Hairspray/Flight 1977 are things that we'd rather wait for, if they're not going to have those types of performances for a bit.

Took a walk round the Esplanade and the casino. The casino is running half capacity and each table has less seats, but I don’t see anything else too out of the ordinary, though I don’t usually visit the casino so I wouldn’t know.

Might go for this performance tonight at the music hall, I do enjoy this sort of music (I’m a saxophonist myself) and we haven’t had it in Singapore since March.

Thanks for the comments! Ah that explains the immigration I guess, if it’s required for international waters. We actually went the other way though! Out East past Tekong and into the South China Sea. On World Dream last week we did go into the Straits of Malacca. I noticed that Quantum is still sailing fast, while World Dream stopped once she got into the strait.

Wish this cruise was longer too, but we booked it because it was the first! We’ve got two more trips lined up which are 3N and 4N though, so lots of time to enjoy (this is what happens when you can’t fly anywhere and the country is so small domestic travel is limited to Jurong to Punggol and back).

Yes, it's so funny that we "cross the whole country" everyday when commuting for work. The other option we have is to just sit in a grounded plane in Changi and eat airline food, which really doesn't do it for us ! 🙂

When will you be sailing again? We're booked on the 7th Jan.

Btw, thanks for the casino shots. Did you have trouble booking the shows, or are you just going to wing it and queue?

I’m not sure what Quantum normally has, but I do know we don’t usually get the Broadway shows (pity, I would actually like those) so it may not actually be any different.

I do remember their most famous 270 show being Star Water back in 2016, but I haven't been back since. OP is it the same still?

Thank you.  From the menus you had posted it looks like everything is still in USD?  Is the casino USD as well?

At the cafes they have a little note to let you know if the table has already been sanitized after the last group left.

I guess fast is relative, she seems to be retracing the route of her test run of a couple of days ago.

La Patisserie

Is La Patisserie complimentary for Star Class Guest?

I'm cruising in mid-feb and will be staying in grand-loft. Will love to find out about the star class privilege. It's my first time on Royal Caribbean 😅

Meanwhile thanks for sharing your experience!!

La Patisserie is complementary for SC on Anthem so I assume it would be on Quantum as well.  So is the Starbucks coffee.

Great to hear that the boarding is super smooth and quick! Definitely makes the cruising experience way better.

Btw, are the bars and restaurants strict with the last service of alcohol at 10pm? and were the speciality restaurants open in the afternoon too?

Would like to add my thanks too, especially as you are on board such a short time.  I use to live in Singapore as a child and we had a holiday there planned back in March before all the craziness happend.

Hope to get there 2022

Check in took maybe 10 to 15 minute tops? Our check in time was 2:30 and they seemed to be enforcing this, because they had a separate queue for the 3pm slot and were holding them till we were done. No priority for suite guests or C&A except for Star suites and Pinnacles sadly, but aside from baggage drop off there were no lines anywhere so it wasn’t even a big deal. To briefly recap the process:

Thanks for the info.  No priority check in for suites is kind of a bummer.  Glad it wasn't an issue

Sorry for the long break! Ran into a friend onboard by chance and took some time to catch the ship together. We last left off at Chops Grille, which was great as usual.

We then took a walk around the outside of the ship and said hi to Felicia. I did want to enter the Seaplex but they’d hit maximum capacity and were enforcing it quite strictly. They had badminton set up, by the looks of it, with the bumper cars later this evening.

Did they do the refurbish where they added escape room and laser tag as well to quantum?

I stopped by the Seaplex earlier and I’m happy to report that they did have some kind of laser tag going on!

In the end we decided to skip the show, but it didn’t look like people would have any trouble booking it.

Excellent details.  Another degenerate question on the casino, what games are available?  Do they have craps?  Is alcohol free at the casino or do you need the alcohol package?

Sorry but I didn’t have the chance to check, not too familiar with casino games to be honest.

Quick question Did you bring US dollars on board or just charge everything to ship account?

I’m charging everything to the ship account for now, so didn’t bring any USD (I get more points for USD spend on my card anyway).
