She was online at 6:45am to try to get a Publix appointment, and then was told none left, so she tried Walmart. Disappointed it wasn’t Moderna or Pfizer, but her doctor told her not to worry about it. He said she might have a higher chance of getting COVID, but still no chance of a serious illness. Those who receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be fully vaccinated at least three weeks sooner than the other two current options. Also, J&J was tested against the new strains when the other two were tested on the original strain. J&J trials also had no hospitalizations or serious illness - that is huge! And one and done!

All though record low Flu rates this last yr, many Vaccinated, more kids actually died from Influenza then from Covid. At least here in US.. When Royal returns in US I see kids Cruising no Vaccine required and even if Vaccine for Adults is required to start or during Test Cruises it won't last or be Permanent. Here in Michigan J&J Vaccines to County Health, Homeless, inner Cities. Talk is will follow with Rural areas and people requiring shots at Home. Easier give one and done no reason to return for 2nd. Sounds like plan. Of the 4 places that called me last week to get Vaccine County was only one that had J&J. Not that I care, took first offer/appt and received Moderna

Two my kids caught it around late 90's-2000, 6 months after their Cousins who had Vaccine and gave it to them. They'd not caught Pox before their Annual Physicals probably received it. Coralc Posted March 12, 2021 #260 Share Posted March 12, 2021 (edited) It stinks here in CA. The counties are fighting with the state and with Blue Shield who is supposed to take over administration of the vaccination program. So once again it is back to political bickering. And in the meantime, those of us that are slightly under 65 are trying to get vaccinated. Unfortunately we don't seem to be underserved, educators, essential, non-Caucasian, caregivers, public sector workers, congregate housing inmates or residents.....or any of the other special interest things in California that would qualify us. So while they are fighting about all of this, we are anxiously awaiting our opportunity to get vaccinated. I have been waiting patiently, but I am started to get perturbed as other states increase the eligibility BY AGE. And believe me, Shingles is 10 times worse than anything I remember about chicken pox. Edited March 12, 2021 by Coralc

They are playing it safe while also capitalizing on the pent-up demand for cruising. There are enough people in this hemisphere to pay Crystal prices and are old enough or have the means to have received a vaccination and are willing to travel -- anywhere -- if allowed. Crystal's parent company, Genting, is in financial dire straights and needs the revenue. They own primarily hotels and casinos which haven't done so great in this pandemic. Their shipyard in Germany is also suffering. The sooner they restart, the better off they are. Now that vaccines and tests are readily available for their segment of the market, the decision to restart in July makes sense.

We both feel very lucky that we got our first dose of pfizer last week and scheduled for 2nd dose on march 25th. I'm early 50s and my DH is 61 but is a transplant recipient so I was allowed to get vaccine since I live with high risk person. I felt guilty at first since I have no medical issues but now I feel thankful. We just booked reservations for Easter brunch with my brother and his wife who have both been vaccinated as she is a charge nurse working with covid patients. Her hospital allowed her to pick 1 family member in household to get vaccinated too, my Brother.
