We just booked the Owners suite on the Silverseas Spirit and looking forward to the cruise as this will be the first cruise on this line.  Anything we should know that we aren’t reading about on the website?  What kind of perks do they offer?  We’ve been cruising Regent and wanted to try something different.  Thanks….

Have had the Owners Suite on Multiple Cruises in our 23 years of cruising with SS.  Obviously it is the best and comes with complimentary laundry, pressing, canapes in your room and your choice of full bar.  Let me know any specifics you are looking for.  You will enjoy   We too have been on RSSC.

Thanks, I just didn’t know if there is something extra I haven’t seen in the brochures.  On Regent you can book tours and dinner reservations earlier, Butler help with dinner reservations on the ship.  Things like that they do on Regent.  We wanted to try another line and Silverseas  sevens to be a nice fit.

We had an owner's suite by accident for 10 days a cruise on the Muse.  There was a mechanical problem in out humble veranda suite.  Prepare to have your mind blown.  There is so much space.  There is even a full dining room table on the deck that seats 8, a perfect place to have your butler bring you breakfast.  With Silversea, especially in an owner's suite, I have one guiding maxim, 'if you want something, just ask for it, and you will get it".  Make some friends, have a cocktail party, they will send a butler, with tails and white gloves, and all the caviar and champagne you could need.  Your new friends would love seeing how the other half live.  You will absolutely love the experience.  Bon Voyage!

Thanks so much.  Quick question-you mention caviar, is there an up charge for caviar or is it included?  Thanks again for you response, I know we’ll enjoy the cruise.

Thank you——It’s nice to know before you cruise.  I also cruise with Regent and they are also all inclusive, but caviar is extra cost except on Sunday breakfast.

If they are still doing this post-pandemic, here's one fun thing you might be interested in...

Anywhere/Anytime Dining -

Now on Silversea, you can order anything from the room service menu and have it delivered to you anywhere on the ship.

I’m not so sure I want to see someone having dinner at the casino, lounges and the theater🤔

The only negative of the owner’s suite is the early morning scraping of chairs as they set up the pool deck.

The best thing about Silversea is the crew.  Also don’t forget, if you want something special, just ask for it.  If it is on board, you can have it with 24 hours notice.

if you are not aware, there is a “crew fund” to which you can contribute if you want.  This pool of money is for all crew, not just the ones you see, but the engine room, laundry room and deck crews who work so hard.  It is used to provide extras such as shore excursions and special events for the crew.

Thanks, didn’t realize the pool is over the suite.  Shouldn’t be that bad-we can deal with a little noise.  The crew fund is just like the other ships we’ve been on.  We give to both the fund and to crew members that make the cruise extra special for us that go a little better than expected.

Hot Rocks (restaurant) and parties on deck, etc. are also in that same area at night after the pool closes to swimmers and lounging guests..

Good information, shouldn’t be a problem—we don’t go to bed that early—maybe we’ll just have to party a little longer😋

We have never had any suite above a veranda on any ship and not really likely to!!

But I have been fortunate enough to sail with Silversea in the Galapagos, the Arctic and the Antarctic and loved all of them.

And I always remember feeling a bit smug when chatting one day to a guy in the observation lounge after we’d had a very choppy ride through the Drake passage. He told me that he’d got one of the most expensive suites on the ship and it had been a huge waste of money! Because it was at the top and front of the ship they had a much rougher ride than those of us ‘down below’ and he, his wife and his daughter had barely moved from their cabin for 2 days. Also, his lovely wraparound balcony was useless as there was a foot of snow on it!!

Meanwhile, I had been snug in my ocean view cabin on the middle of the lowest deck on the ship, and didn’t miss a meal!!

The scraping of the chairs in the morning is exactly what I was afraid, as it would wake us up. At what time does is start?

I somehow fail to understand why the Owner suite is often quite a lot more expensive than the Grand suite. Obviously, the mid-ship location is more practical, but the room and especially the veranda are much smaller than the Grand suite on Muse/Moon.

We were in Grand suite 801 last week, and liked it a lot. However, there is a lot of noise in the morning during docking  (or when dropping the anchor), but it was mainly at a time where we would get up anyway. Also, the huge terrace was often unusable due to strong wind.

Before leaving, we had the opportunity to visit an Owner suite, but I'm still not convinced that it is worth the extra money. Am I missing something?

Don’t know, think it maybe location and size.  We looked the Grand Suite first ourselves, but layout of the Owners Suite seem to be a better fit, and the being small also seems to be more usable doing sea days which we enjoy.  This will be the first cruise on Silverseas for us, so we’ll know once we cruise if it was worth it or not (but I think it will be).

The Pool is not always open at that time !!!! at the start of a Cruise but with some gentle coaxing from the hardy early Swimmers the Staff soon get the message !!!!. What happy memories.

Quite right .....First liaisons with Pool Deck staff was always a worthwhile reunion with the excellent staff particularly those we had travelled with before. Many happy times to remember particularly in the current conditions.
