What do you tip your royal genie?

Pre-Covid (2018):  For us it depends upon how much we use him.  For a 7 night on Anthem we tipped $600 (we rarely used the Genie).  For a 7-night on Oasis we tipped $800 as we did use our Genie to make reservations for us.  We didn't have any in-suite dining or parties.  We also did additional tips to the Cabin Stewart each time (think it was $100).

We have always given between $400 and $600 for 4 of us.  Depends on what they do.  I know on Anthem we were always trying to get time at iFly and bumper cars so paid at least $600.  On Oasis we only paid $400 because there was not much we asked for except show times.  Hope you get your Star Class suite.  Once we were in one we have not been back to a regular balcony.

We usually tip between $500-700 depending on what we do.  In-suite parties are a huge amount of work for the Genie and room attendants. We rarely do the parties anymore. They were really fun but became a lot of work for US too so we haven’t done one in a while.

Are these completely separate from your cabin steward or do they share?

Sepetate, the Genie does not participate in the std gratuities pool.

FWIW, we felt our cabin attendant deserved more than our Genie.

From a FB post  Tip included?

Tip is included in Star pricing which is one reason Star cost much greater. We are a family of four. We keep our suite extremely tidy. I have our itinerary completed in advanced and provided to Genie so everything is already arranged prior to boarding. My itinerary includes everything from shows, entertainment, excursions, dining, suite request, etc... It is extremely beneficial and great way to get to know your Genie.
I always provide hand written thank you's to our Genie and cabin steward with additional cash tips.
Only one time have I had to request a different Genie and cabin steward...different cruises.
We are very detailed, organized, tidy and low demand but do expect exceptional service.
There definitely is a difference in level of experience with Genies and cabin stewards.

And probably Wonder of the Seas starting March.

Hopefully.  😉  Curiously, when you looked up availability for booking on Wonder and expanding the cabin type info, Sky class cabins were labeled as such.  However none of the Star Class rooms were labeled as Star Class as one of the features.  I’m pretty sure they would be due to the price, but who knows.  If for some strange reason they are not, I will definitely be cancelling my booking.

Yep.  Us too.  We’re in an A2 on the 3/18.  Remarkably the 1BR A3s weren’t much less expensive, so I have some concerns.  But I keep reminding myself that they probably copied room descriptions from the Asian sailings which don’t have genies.
