We did the same with our kids when they were growing up,   They always had to do reports on what they learned.

Coco Cay is such a nice place.  I know our grandkids would have a blast there.

Fun story - we took our kids out of school for a cruise and I went to Guest Services to get a map, so they could plot the course and turn in a report for school.  The nice woman opened the file cabinet to find one and there was a file with the header 'S/EX Order Forms'. I commented that this must be a full-service ship, and laughed - and she didn't get the joke. I had to explain it to her. Even though she was American, she was so set on doing her job that she never notice it as anything but Shore Excursion Order Form.  Later on, when she saw me walking by, she laughed and said no one in the office had ever noticed it.  🙂

Relaxing on the balcony with a pre dinner drink.

Wish these tables were a little larger.

May try to check out the DL before dinner.  Doing the MDR tonight.  Duck is on the menu.

Received a telemarketer call on the cabin phone today, saying Susan won $50 at the spa.  She probably just has to give them her bank routing numbers to activate it   🤣🤣🤣

So useful (or useless) bit of information #3 for this class of ship.  On a whim, we walked up to see if we could go up in the North Star, since we were in port.  Nope, you have to book a time slot, and all spots were booked already, as well as all the other port days.

Now you can do it on a sea day for $29/pp, but what would you see other than the ocean.

We are glad we booked Ifly for one of the port days already, because those are all booked now.  You want to do it on a sea day, that is $49/pp.

The moral is….book as soon as you get onboard.

Dinner at the MDR

I am a creature of habit, and my first night meal when cruising is always.

Escargot

And usually creme brûlée, but I opted for the Royal chocolate cake (only because I knew someone would want a bite)

I also start the cruise with Escargot and creme brulee.  I then request Escargot every evening as one of my appetizers.  I say as one of my appetizers, since I always order Escargot along with another of their wonderful appetizers😁

Today is our Perfect Day.  I was up so early, they thought I was part of the crew reporting for work

It was so sad last night, that we didn’t even make it to the DL, nor did we use all our vouchers for the day.  Susan says we need to start drinking earlier.

Beautiful pictures!

WE didn't go to Coco Cay till our second half of our B2B.  Towards the end of the first cruise, we had a call from the Diamond Concierge (Ann) , who noticed we were B2B.  We stopped by, after we figured out where the Lounge was located, and she booked us on the North Star for our day in Coco Cay.

I drink rum and coke, but I need caffeine free diet coke.  They didn't have any on board, so I ended up buying the Coke cup thing.  Turns out, I paid for the first cruise,  but it turns out it also worked the second cruise, no charge.

Speaking of no charge, we did not get charged for a single drink the entire cruise.  I really think we had more drinks than the voucher allows, although I didn't go over the final bill and count them.

More useful (or useless) information.

Day 1, I did all the posting using our cell service in port.

Day 2 here at Coco Cay, I used one of our Diamond internet (free days) for 24 hours of surf internet. Tomorrow, I will use Susan’s discount for money off the remainder of the voyage package.

I have found this is usually less than buying before the cruise if it is timed this way.

Is the daily internet still $22.99 before discount?

I should mention this is our first trip to stop at Coco Cay since they did this development. Very nice.  I approve!

The blue hull seems much more noticable than when RCI started using it on the O class ships.

It is free in port and they charge at sea?

Yes it was a small cup.  It seems like many things are getting downsized.

We forayed into the DL for the first time this cruise.  It was already packed by the time we got there at 5:00, and the venue was a huge disappointment.  The layout just wasn’t conducive to meeting and conversing with people.

They were serving the snacks, so like Windjammer, you had to point at what you wanted.

I had to try a classic old fashioned, since it is something I never tried.  This is how they make them at Schooner Bar

Stage 1

Stage  2

We played 50’s and 60’s music trivia.  I asked Susan what our team name should be, and she said “I Don’t Care”.   So team I Don’t Care managed 90 points.  We need to brush up on the artist names.  Winner had 130 points.
