Martini bar

Leaving on the Summit Thursday and plan to visit the Martini bar for the first time. I'm not a fan of gin or vermouth.  Any suggestions of drinks that I might like? Is anything covered under the classic package or should I up grade?

Vodka Martinis 🙂

We tried a Banana Split Martini that was wonderful. Only drink it after dinner as it was sweet.

If you do not upgrade you pay the difference. I seem to always have premium so I'm not sure the price difference.

Martini Bar on Summit was almost completely empty back in September. Like 5-6 people is all. LOVED IT!

Look at the menu when you get to the bar

Depending on how many martinis you plan to have, you may want to upgrade. The martinis at the martini bar are not included in the classic package, so you would pay the cost difference +20% gratuity.

There are lots of vodka-based options on the menu there. They are also great at making drinks off the menu if you ask- I often just ask them to surprise me, after giving them an idea of what I like.

I'll be boarding on Thursday as well, so might see you there. 🙂

Do yourself a favor, order the Fresca Martini, I think that’s the correct spelling…I like mine made  with Hendricks.. but I believe vodka is the standard way.

Be guilty of trying at least one nice gin martini, I prefer Hendricks…you may change your mind about gin.

I was on the Constellation last week and went to the martini bar numerous times.  Our ship was about 80 percent full, but most of the time when we went, all the bar seats were taken.  We just didn't get there early enough.  If you don't want a sweet martini, I would suggest an espresso martini or a cosmo.  We did have the premium package, so we were not charged extra and I could call my preferred vodka of choice.

You may want to try a Lemon Drop or a Lycheetini. .  Both are made with vodka.  They weren’t t on the menu  but the bartenders all know how to make them.  After dinner a chocolate martini is good or a Banana Split martini.

The 25th anniversary martini is amazing!

Don't recall ever seeing this one but have heard someone else say they really liked it....do you recall what is in it?

Southern Comfort Manhattan, straight up, to die (literally) for

Don't they have an actual rye on the menu? Asking for a friend...

(I'll bite my tongue on the topic of a Manhattan is NOT a Martini... 🍸)

Curiosity got the better of me tonight. Is there a reasonably current menu out there? I found a couple, but I'm not sure how current they are. Ignoring for a moment that a Martini is a dry Gin with the vapors of a bottle of dry Vermouth opened in the adjacent room, there were some strange things on the list of Martinis I found. I don't know that anyone would consider a Manhattan a Martini, but it was right there on one of the menus!

There's probably a graduate dissertation on the Vesper, which actually can't be made today as Kina Lillet hasn't existed since the '80s, and Gordon's has been proofed down to the point that shaking it wouldn't really work; It's now something like 37.5% alcohol versus close to 50% when Fleming wrote Casino Royale, so shaking would really dilute the gin. You'd have to stir it today!

Too late tonight, but feel a strange need to for Tanqueray, Noilly Prat, and ice...

And if you enjoy vodka with crazy flavored mixes, I have no issues! It'll probably never be a martini in my mind, but it can still be a great drink!

Grey goose, grand marnier, domaine Chandon brut, lemon and strawberries. Loved that it isn’t to sweet.

I enjoy a French Martini and my DH loves a chocolate Martini.   You can also get wine, beer or other alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks at the Martini bar.

Southern Comfort was popular when I was in High School.

I remember the hangovers.

I think they used Bulleit rye for the Manhattans.

m - methinks you take the name of the bar too literally, while martinis are the focus, there can be other 'beverages' offered... LOL

Cheers and bon voyage
