Rare 1025cruise Posted December 15, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2021 Any cruise at any time could have a varied range of passengers.
Love.II.Cruise Posted December 15, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2021 Alaska can be more of an older crowd. But I've gone once in my twenties, once in my thirties and plan to go next year in my forties. I think the types of activities you do is where you will see active adults in ports. Alaska has a wide range of activities and you'll see more active adults on moderate to high activity excursions. Not sure if that answers your question. Either way - we've love Alaska every time and recommend it to everyone we know.

DRS/NC Posted December 16, 2021 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2021 The Alaska cruises tend to attract multi-generational groups, often families. Yes, there will be us "seniors" but also our adult children (20s, 30s, 40s, etc) & often grandchildren. And all those passengers will be "active".
ldubs Posted December 17, 2021 #6 Share Posted December 17, 2021 I wonder if it is possible to be an active adult and a senior? 😀 5
Dancing Shoes Posted December 23, 2021 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2021 Certain lines do attract an older crowd. Holland America does, and we went with them and had a blast. We are laid back, and don't care about all of the glitz. Going to Alaska is port intensive. I would choose what you want to do, then pick the cruise line. This next trip is with Celebrity and will have a different crowd mix. Check out some of the bigger ships. They seem to attract a younger crowd and/or families looking for lots of on ship activities. Thankyou Not sure I get it.........what would make you think Alaska is "just seniors"?😲....I have sailed to Alaska multiple times over the years.........there have been various demographics on all of them. Alaska can be VERY family friendly.......with all ages on board.
ilikeanswers Posted December 23, 2021 #11 Share Posted December 23, 2021 I guess if you are looking for a more active cruising crowd you may want to look into expedition ships as they tend to attract more of that kind of people. Though it is not say a senior or two might still end up on board😂.
donaldsc Posted December 23, 2021 #12 Share Posted December 23, 2021 Probably all of them. I have never been on an AK cruise that was just seniors. DON

wolfie11 Posted February 10, 2022 #14 Share Posted February 10, 2022 Stay off the big ships and major lines that dump thousands of people a day into a few ports. Hurtigruten and Viking are both sailing ships to Alaska that are going to more out of the way places and offer more active options with a reasonable price tag. Plus you won't be exhorted every five minutes to go play bingo, sign up for the slot tournament, buy a diamond ring for 50% off, attend the art auction, etc. Regent, Seabourne, and Silver Seas are also going with smaller ships and active itineraries, but are a bit more pricey.
J0Y0US Posted February 10, 2022 #15 Share Posted February 10, 2022 What do you mean active? Like night club or nature seeking? If you mean nature seeking I would personally not worry about it and go just with your group. There are plenty of hikes you can research which are easy to get to. A good one is in Juneau where you can hike to the top of Mt. Roberts. If you are talking about night clubs I am not sure but I would suspect Royal, Carnival, and Norwegian on the ships with more things to do. (Royal Ovation or Norwegian Encore/Bliss or Carnival not positive)
