Casino charge to make change

Some ships have bill breakers/ticket cash out machines.

You can use those to make change.

On Freedom I was limited to breaking 1 $20 per day. But they let my wife and I each break $20's made no sense. LOL

Anthem - luckily had a bill breaker

I have never been charged at the cage to break a bill into smaller.  The only time I ever had an issue was when I was trying to break a $20 into $1s.  They could only give me 10 $1s and 1 $10 as they were running low.

Why not just bring $200 in ones????  We tip everyone we can a dollar ot two.  Its not much but it adds up for these folks.

That makes for a really thick wallet!

I've never had a problem getting change at Guest Services.  I carry large bills on the ship, then break them down as needed.

I have been limited to only $10 in singles in the casino before, though -- they don't seem to have many small bills in the cashier cage.  But never a problem at Guest Services.

My wife just got $200.00 in ones.  (along with other denominations as well)  We'll just keep the tip pouch in the safe.  No need to put it all in your wallet.  Before we arrive, I just carry it in a pocket.

I obviously don't carry all my cash around with me on board, but the getting-to-the-ship is the part that would be a pain for me.  A stack of bills like that doesn't easily or safely or comfortably fit in a pocket of any women's clothing I've ever known.

We carry ours in the backpack, with the passports, medicines we need, and stuff we want right away.

We also save our 5's and 1's between cruises for just this purpose.

It's still easier for me to just carry large bills and change as I go along.  When cruising for a month or longer at a time, you're talking about a LOT of bulk in singles.

Haven't had a chance to test that problem yet.  Maybe someday........

Don't you carry on a bag of some sort?

I use a pouch from Amazon to carry cash in my shoulder computer bag (which I carry even if I don't have a computer along).

They are a bit bigger than a standard envelope, mesh with a zipper.  I carry extra US currency, and those international currencies that I hold onto for later use (Euro, Pounds, Yen, HKD, Baht, Won, and a few more).
