Rare spinnaker2 Posted March 9, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2022 Help, we are considering the Apex in a sky suite and have a few questions. WE haven’t cruised with Celebrity before so my questions may seem very newbie. 1. How high is the lip of the bathtub to get into the shower? Husband has a drop foot and not sure he can lift his foot to get into the tub/shower. 2. In the retreat restaurant must you dine at a set time, or can you walk in during dining hours and be seated? 3. Are you assigned a table with other guests or may you eat as a twosome? 4. Is the restaurant in the retreat an additional cost or is it included? Thanks much in advance.

You can go anytime the restaurant is open. 3. No common table most tables are 2 or 4 tops and will be seating with your party only. 4. Retreat is included as your main dining room at no additional cost.
jelayne Posted March 9, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2022 Luminae, the Retreat restaurant, doesn’t take reservations just show up when ready. No assigned tables and they will seat you a a table for 2 unless you plan to have others join you. I didn’t measure the tub height but would estimate 14”
wrk2cruise Posted March 9, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2022 1) I'd say about 12". It's a very shallow tub 2) It's dine anytime. I think dinner hours are something like 5:30 - 9 pm to be seated. 3) You will be seated with just your travel group unless you pre-arrange with other guests to dine together. 4) Luminae (suite restaurant) is included. TeeRick Posted March 9, 2022 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2022 Does anybody have a photo of the tub in a Sky Suite on APEX?
Rare spinnaker2 Posted March 9, 2022 Author #8 Share Posted March 9, 2022 Tee I did look at some videos of the suites and it is a tub/shower combo. It looks like the tub is pretty shallow but i cant be certain. It also looks like one must step up and over to get into the tub where there is a rain shower jet shower set up. kwokpot Posted March 9, 2022 #9 Share Posted March 9, 2022 (edited) I don't have photos or videos but if one has mobility issues the tub/shower combo on the Apex is challenging and I would seriously reconsider. I would never recommend anyone with mobility issues to utilize those tub/showers. I myself never liked going in and out of them. However, those amazing showerheads made up for the challenge of getting in and out of the tub. Helpful hint: BEFORE exiting the shower take your hands and do a couple of swipes to the tub ledges where the shower door is located. This will prevent any accumulated water from spilling out onto the bathroom floor. Edited March 9, 2022 by kwokpot
Mimiya11 Posted March 9, 2022 #10 Share Posted March 9, 2022 If not too late consider an accessible sky suite where the shower would not be an issue.

kwokpot Posted March 9, 2022 #12 Share Posted March 9, 2022 Here's a good video of an Apex SkySuite and pictures of the shower/tub combo starting at the 1:47 mark of the video. https://youtu.be/PDffF9GGBKc
Rare spinnaker2 Posted March 9, 2022 Author #13 Share Posted March 9, 2022 Thanks again all. There is no way that my husband could use that tub shower combo safely. Its a step over and then a step down and not a lot of grab bars. I see one. Frankly I would be worried about the use of that tub/shower in choppy seas for a perfectly healthy non challenged person. Sadly this is the end of this hoped to be last minute cruise.

Technically the Spa Locker Rooms on E-Class Ships are only available to those with a Spa Pass or receiving a Treatment, unlike the M or S Class ships where the Locker rooms are open to all. I have been on the Edge three times most recently this past Thanksgiving, and the Apex once, in December and all four times I have asked about Locker Room access at the Spa Reception Desk and the answers have been consistent and unwavering.
