I also have to agree… I went to bingo just once because she drove me crazy. 🤪🤪

I think she is there to make the bingo last longer. It’s a lot of money for a short period of time. Someone has to make it last longer, and that sheeeeeee doessssss. 😆

Haven’t got to cruise for so long I don’t know what Fortunate Luck is?
We are sailing soon, so can some explain so am not in the dark???

It's basically a character that Princess has created who dresses the same across the fleet to be the master of ceremonies for casino operations and games on board.  The character is just over the top and creates a more annoying atmosphere (in my opinion) vice keeping someone entertained or engaged.

We saw a woman dressed like this on our March cruise walking here and there. Since we don't gamble we had no reason to know who she was. I understand wanting to push casino and Bingo moneymaking. Characters in costume walking around like it's Disneyland? Princess is changing, but I don't like the trend. I shudder to think what they'll come up with to push the art auction!

Not exactly "a costume", though some may disagree...certainly not like a Disney character. It's just a female CD staffer wearing a blue, very short, very tight skirt and high heels. Most cruises we have been on it was a redhead...but I'm sure other ship's have probably had other haircolors.  Her spiel is rather corny!

She’s easily avoided. I only saw her a handful of times on a 20 day cruise,  It was normally just in passing by Princess Live during Bingo sessions.

Definitely nothing like a Disney Character or even a trend in that direction.

They've got her filling in for more things lately...like trivia helper in Princess live.

Save some money & dispense with her.

Why do I feel like Princess is losing its way?

Being a "Futurist" is a difficult task.  The sustainability unit at PCL is charged not with asking what can be done to please today's Princess fan base, but instead is tasked with asking: "What can we do to make the current population of 12-26 year olds loyal Princess customers 20 years from now?  Because if they aren't thinking that far out in front, the company will crater.  It's a lot of "hit and miss" as well as seemingly odd choices to us.  A lot of what they come up with is going to seem out of step with today's customers, and that is certainly the case.  But they are forced into thinking this way, and if they lose a certain percentage of current customers but gain back a greater number of new or younger customers, then they will have succeeded.  Put another way, imagine if Princess waved its hand today and declared that it would accept no further bookings from people who are 55 and older.  And imagine further that it didn't change a single thing about the way it did business.  Would the company thrive as compared to RCL, NCL, DCL and CCL?  Or would it go out of business?  Attracting younger cruisers to the line is going to involve lots of new initiatives (such the Medallions and the "best wifi at sea") and some of these new initiatives are going to look very, very odd to longtime customers.  They get that.  But they have no choice.

They're all readheads. It's a wig. The staffer actually works for the casino department. We got to know one on the Emerald Princess back in December. Recognized her eyes when she was dressed normally. Very nice young lady who also doubles as the casino pirate (I don't remember that character's name).

Adding usb and wireless charging stations in every cabin and throughout the ship would be more attractive to the 20somethings than a crazy bingo lady.

But it's not an "either/or".  Lots of ideas are going to be thrown up against the wall to see what sticks.  And the ability of the over 60 crowd to predict what will stick with the under 30 crowd has failed throughout history and will fail again here.  "Four lads with mop top haircuts singing barely understandable lyrics with bashing drums and guitars in the background? Who would EVER listen to that?"

You are correct. Businesses that don't project for the future generally flounder or fail.  This thread refers to the character Fortuna Luck who basically hosts bingo as well as being a casino dealer and promoter. I don't see this as a factor in attracting 12 to 26 years olds today and in the long run. A working medallion program yes, but not Fortuna Luck. It's just a misguided gimmick. Princess should think about retaining the job description, but removing the character.

I don't agree.  Of all the activities on a ship, Bingo probably skews "older" than almost any other.  There is definitely a need to bring that revenue-generating feature back into the fold of the younger audience.  Children can accompany their parents as they play. So a cartoonish character may be purpose built for the "skew younger" mission statement.  I'm not going to argue that it is a good idea or that it is working.  But I think I am safe in saying that the character is intended to grab the attention of people much younger than the current average age of the typical passenger.  I suppose she could be grabbing the attention of the "little blue pill" crowd as well, but I doubt that was the original intent!
