OASIS - Ocean View Balcony - Deck 6, 7 or 8

Looking at the Oasis at the ocean view balconies on Decks 6, 7, or 8.  Not the boardwalk or central balconies.  What deck would you suggest.

We like an ocean view balcony on deck 6.  We find it very convenient.  You are on same deck as Boardwalk, one flight of stairs down to Royal Promenade or two flights up to Central Park.

Deck 8 is 1st choice

Deck 6 is 2nd choice

Avoid Deck 7 because it is chopped off and if you get on elevator on opposite side of your cabin you cannot walk to your side because of the big boardwalk sign on deck 6.   This applies to mid ship/aft elevator.   Forward ship you are fine

I like deck 8. Oasis class ships are huge and hallways to cabins are very long. I like being able to walk through Central Park part of the way. It's also nice to have park cafe and the trellis to easily access from the cabin.

Can’t argue with any of that. I wind up crossing over via Central Park a lot even if my cabin is elsewhere.

Oh. Now I feel that I made a terrible mistake booking deck 7 on my upcoming cruise simply because there is nothing else nearby so I assumed it would be the most quiet.

We have stayed on deck 7 and it is fine.  The issue is at the aft elevators.  On other decks you can cross from port to starboard between the elevator banks.  You can't on deck 7 because of the Boardwalk sign.  We only used the wrong elevators once all week and just had to go down one deck, cross over and then go back up.  It is not a big deal unless you have a mobility issue and are directionally challenged.

depending on the cabin it should be (cabins above and cabins below) and the location is by no means terrible. It's just not my first choice. Not being able to cross at the aft is a little annoying. You can always ask to change cabins in the same category if available.

I agree with this. Deck 6 is within two decks of tons of things. An easy walk up or down the stairs.

That, and the Park Cafe has (had?) specialist coffee so that was a lovely walk in the morning, through an empty Central Park.

I’m currently on deck 7 and the chopped off elevators haven’t bothered me all cruise. Benefit of 7 is when it’s’ Aqua 80, you can walk to end of cabins and sneak out to the climbing wall. Was able to grab chairs for show without a reservation and avoided the long stand by line…

that's exactly why we love Deck 8 on Oasis class. We like to cross over on 8 and we like the central park in general.

Two adults who like taking the stairs and like Cental Park, I’d go deck 8.  Two adults who can handle just 1 flight of stairs and otherwise it’s the elevator, go deck 6 so you are also close to the Promenade.  Somewhere in between, pick what you think works best for you.

If you have total mobility issues,

there are pros and cons to deck 6 and 8.

Id avoid deck 7 either way.  Not a bad deck, but if you have a choice go 6 or 8.

Family with kids, go for deck 6 near aft elevator.

We had an Oceanview Balcony on deck 6, actually right alongside the boardwalk, and actually really, really loved it.  I booked another one on Harmony for the same location.  Noise was not a problem at all.  You could hear stuff in the hallway, but not at all in the room.  I really like the location, with easy access to the promenade and also the boardwalk.
