Good morning,  it’s not often I make it to page 1 , I’ll type fast.   Today is my day!   We got half way to the Airport and realized I wasn’t wearing my glasses!  We had to turn around and go back to get them.   That should teach me not to leave the house without having had my coffee.  Anyway, we made it and our flight crew just walked by, so I guess the flight to Montreal will be going.

Not page 1, I didn’t type fast enough!

We keep on getting emails from HAL telling us to complete our checking with a US address , and we don’t have a US address,we are going straight from the ship to the airport after the cruise.  They know that!  On the Navigator check in,  it doesn’t even ask fora US address.  Crazy…

Good Morning, Dailyite family. Thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily.

Started packing. I wanted to check 1 large suitcase, and take 1 carryon and my backpack (I use as a personal item). But it looks like I’ll need to check 2 suitcases. I was up early because I kept thinking of things I still need to pack, so I started a list. Yup, I need to check 2 bags. 😛 I’ll decide if it’s large or medium depending on how long the list gets.

I think I’m done ordering from Amazon for this trip. Well, I have to be done because it won’t get here in time with the holiday. So I hope I’ve got everything. 🤞

Could I please ask for some prayers? 🙏 My GF’s DH had some groin pain yesterday and he thought it was his hernia acting up. Well, he went to the doc (or urgent care) and he is now in the hospital. Kidney stones, gall stones, and pancreatitis. Treatment TBD. Haven’t heard a status from her this morning. Prayers and good thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks to all for caring and sharing. 😘

Prayers being said for your friends husband.

I'm sorry about the glasses Ann but sadly you weren't able to get the front page.

Before I get started on my ironing duties this morning, who's interested in some cute doggie photos?

Joy @Seasick Sailor, have a wonderful time on your Maui trip!  I would love to see the newborn fawn.  So cute!

Jacqui @kazu your jams sound delicious, and look good too.  I'm sure much better than store bought.

@dobiemomyour GF's DH must have been in excruciating pain with that diagnosis.  I hope they can take quick action and help him out of this situation.  Thank goodness he went to the ER/Urgent Care!

Happy Saturday! I thought that I saw a UFO years ago, it was a weather balloon.  I forget things so much, I take notes, all the time, and lose the notes.  I do remember seeing a cover on a National Enquirer years ago that said-"Your cat may be an Alien", but heck I already knew that.

c65d009a85c4b5d0f1dcd3f78babe60c.jpg

In this picture, you see the cats coming down.😸

DH's appointment with the oncologist regarding nerve block surgery didn't go the way DH thought it would.  He absolutely does not want DH to have more surgeries. He is sending him, we have an appointment, but he wants DH to learn how to manage the pain, not block the pain. More surgery means more time under, and more time under DH cant do.  Yes, it has affected his mind, and it takes longer and longer to bring him back.  So, the doc increased all his meds, to deal with the pain, thing is, that he needs to remember that one of the meds, HAS to be taken 3 times a day, and the other for pain, is to be taken BEFORE he has pain.  I can foresee lots of problems in my future.  He gets up now at weird hours, takes meds, and has no memory of what he has taken, so when he gets up again, to face the day, eh, he doesn't know what he took and when, and he doubles up on the already doubled up meds.  So he is very hard to wake up in the mornings.

The doctor also advised for the third time in three months that DH get out and walk every day, to take more vacations and to learn to enjoy his life.  He then set up a blood test for DH, and told the nurse to give me money , for a vacation, because, I needed one. She and I laughed, and she said, but Ann does water aerobics.  I said, no that isn't me that was the DH.  I was taking an art class.  But last night DH said we really need to set our work boundaries, He needs less working at night time, and I need to spend more time getting him up moving and walking.

I am going to have to step up and get him a daily pill holder.  Anyone seen one with morning, noon and night containers?  And now you know why he cant be put under again.

A beautiful day here in Michigan's UP.  It will be a quiet 4th here because our neighbors have refugees from Ukraine visiting so fireworks are delayed to respect their need for quiet.  It will be a day of gardening for me.  The fish must have read the calendar as they started biting on July 1.  No snapping turtle in the yard this year. I think the found out neighbor's newer excavation easier to get to.

Have a great Saturday and safe travels to all.  Thanks for the Daily Reports!  I have been to Honolulu once on a forced delay on our way to Kona. Never got far.  Prayers for all who need them and for the people of Ukraine.

I caught a feisty Bass and a decent Bluegill all go back unless they are keeper Walleye. None yet this year - subsisting on grocery Walleye for now.  A deer in front of my sister's cabin and another near shore.

Good morning from sunny central Texas.  This is our last day in the 90sF for the foreseeable future, and it will be 96F instead of the 93F predicted earlier this week.  BUT that's Texas weather for you.

Unfortunately, forget day is happening more often, or as I say, the senior moments are beginning to be longer than the non-senior moments.  🤣  I haven't seen an UFO, but I'm no ruling them out.  Recreation should be available to everyone.

I'm' not sure how I feel about today's quote.

We'll pass on the meal, drink and the wine.  @dfish  Debbie, when we were in Spain, we had the Spanish tortilla, but on the menu it was listed as a Spanish omelet.  Whatever it is called, it was good.

We have been to Honolulu many times on cruises and embarking or disembarking cruises.  I'll find the pictures I posted last year.

@Sharon in AZ Congratulations to your DH on his retirement.

@dobiemom  I hope your GF's DH recovers quickly and they can get the pain under control

@Seasick Sailor  Loved the picture of the fawn.  When do you leave for Hawaii?

@StLouisCruisers  Sandi, ironing?  I quit buying clothes that had to be ironed years ago.  Thanks for the pictures of the cute Gracie and the handsome Finn.

@marshhawk  Ann, I hope the increased meds and the pain management technics will help your DH, and I hope he can get shorter hours and will begin walking and relaxing.

Yesterday afternoon we had to go out, and I noticed the fireworks stands were open.  I don't no if the fireworks ban on both sales and use has been lifted.  I guess we'll find out tonight and the next two nights.

Good morning!

DH and I have been to Honolulu twice - once on a cruise from Vancouver there on the Zaandam; the second time we flew (nonstop) from NY to Honolulu for a couple of days prior to our Pride of America cruise.  Most of my pictures are very similar to others already posted - Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach, Pearl Harbor, etc.  Our arrival on the Zaandam was beautiful:

IMG_1390.thumb.JPG.5a71a767e05bc5833c74def5da7153e2.JPG

We did have a great day on Waikiki before the POA cruise - sun, showers and a rainbow!

013.thumb.JPG.0d6ad0d7d5abc184768249fd4eaac0ef.JPG

Of course, we had to have dinner at Dukes - and DH had Hula Pie for dessert!

045.thumb.JPG.65b3d4c964f6930731dc2d35c8a9f84a.JPG

Not a lot planned for the 4th of July long weekend - we've been having some work done at the house (painting halls and bedroom, and a new screened porch on the front).  We'll probably watch the fireworks on TV, the Macys show is always wonderful to see.

Prayers for our Daily family and friends, cheers for those celebrating.  Enjoy, and stay safe!!

From June 1, 2021.

We tried to figure out how many times we've been to Hawaii, and it is at least 10 times.  All but one time, we have rented a car and circled the island  I will try not to duplicate pictures, with maybe the exception of Diamondhead and the Aloha Tower.  Since we have so many pictures, I'll post the ones of Honolulu first.  BTW, we have toured the Arizona, the Missouri and the plane museum, but I'll not duplicate with pictures of the first two.

The last time we were in Honolulu was Veterans Day, 2018, and Punchbowl (National Cemetery of the Pacific) was decorated in honor of the day.

Another iconic symbol of Honolulu was the original International Market.  Unfortunately my pictures of the original market are pre-digital.  These are pictures of the International Market as it was being rebuilt and after it was rebuilt.  At least, they kept the banyan tree.

Some of the vendors from the original market, relocated, and I believe it was across the street from the back of the International Market.

In 2007, we arrived three days before a cruise and stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  We lucked out and got an end room   The room had two balconies, one facing the sea and where you could see the Aloha Tower, and the other faced Diamond Head.  We'd have breakfast on the first balcony, and wine and a lite snack for supper on the balcony facing Diamondhead.

Views from our room, including a sunset.

In 2000, our call into Honolulu on P&O's Oriana was her maiden call.  As we sailed in at sunrise, we were met by fireboats, and a helicopter that dropped small orchids on the ship.  Somehow, we did not get any pictures of the orchid drop.

Our usual day(s) in Honolulu are to rent a car and drive across to the North Shore, then continue along the coast and back to Honolulu.  These are some pictures from our many drives around the island.

The entrance and some pictures in Waimea Valley on the north shore

Of course, pictures from Hawaii would not be complete without chickens.

We in 2017, we stopped at Sunset Beach on the north shore where the pro surfing was being held.  That day, it was too rough for the surfers to compete.  18 months later, the event had been moved to a more protected area.

Just after the turn from the north shore headed back to Honolulu, there are shrimp ponds and several food trucks selling shrimp meals.  We have eaten at this one twice.

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  I Forget Day is becoming more frequent around here - as evidenced by the amount of notes left lying around.  I believe in UFO's and would like to see one; DH is a skeptic and said he'll believe in them when he gets to kick the tires and check the oil on one.  I'm all for special recreation for the disabled - they are left out of so many fun activities.

A little late to the party this morning - I'm not used to getting up at 4AM to a 7 year old sneezing in his sleep (apparently a regular thing, who knew!?) and then gettting up to cover him up again.  There's a reason why people have their children when they're young.  After getting up and finally falling back to sleep, we woke up at 7:45 - which is almost 2 hours later than when I normally open my eyes.

We had a great Canada Day at our house - long walk in the park nearby, followed by a kids water fight with the hoses (Grandpa hooked up a Y connection so there could be 2 of them from the same faucet), resulting in tons of laughter and 2 little drowned rats.   There was no way anyone was going to be able to be up to watch fireworks, so we were all in bed by 10:30 and apparently missed an amazing display of northern lights!  Darn.

@Sharon in AZcongratulations on Craig's retirement; it really is the best job ever!

@dobiemomprayers for your friend's DH - that's frightening!

@aliaschiefsafe travels!

@marshhawksorry your DH didn't get the result he was hoping for - I hope getting a pill minder will help him manage his medications properly.

Not sure what's on the agenda today, that will be determined once the household is up, but I'm sure it will be fun.  I like today's menu suggestion, but it seems more like a brunch idea rather than an evening meal, but you never know.  There was a request made by a certain 7 year old for tacos tonight, so I'll be getting all the ingredients put together this afternoon for a make your own taco bar.  It'll be tacos and laughter on the deck for dinner tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  Extra for the people of Ukraine who are remaining so brave.  We'll raise the glasses tonight to salute all on the celebration list.  Stay safe, get your boosters, wear masks when needed, and be well.

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Today is I Forgot Day,

We had Vacatin Bible School at church all this week and my DW forgot that Siri is always listening to everything. She couldn't tell where the voice was coming from when she was explaining the prospect of salvation based on Jesus rising from the tomb. Each point that DW made was answered from the iphone in her back pocket with, "I'm not sure I understand."

I've never seen a UFO or had a close encounter of the third kind though I love the movie.

Quite a few years ago, we stayed at the KOA near Devil's Tower. They showed "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" out on the lawn on a very large screen. The best part was when the electrical storm was taking place on the screen a real lightning storm was flashing all around us. I don't think anyone's eyes were focused on the screen the rest of the night.

We've been away the past two days for the funeral of a friend of 60+ years, so I haven't caught up with your news, any news, or, in fact, anything! Lately, I feel like my existence has become the proverbial "...a day late" (but, thankfully, not "...the dollar short" part yet).

I do have some uplifting news to share:

Yesterday, two weeks after his horrific mowing accident, my DH's nephew Curt was moved to a highly regarded rehab facility. No prognosis or timeline known but this is a positive first step on a long road…

While I catch up with the Daily family, know I'm sending my 🙏prayers🙏 for your needs and shouting 🎉hurrahs🎉 for your joys.

Good morning from a cloudy, cool morning in the PNW.

Like others, "I forgot" seems to be my day.  Usually I can remember eventually, but sometimes it takes awhile!  I think there are UFOs, but have never seen one.  Disabled recreation is very important.  I agree with the quote, at least some of the time.  Will pass on the wine, but the drink and meal sound good.  We've been to Honolulu 3 times I think, twice on cruises.  Will just post one photo, taken from the top of Diamond Head.

After sleeping only 4 hours the night before, it felt good to get a whole night's sleep last night.  But that was only after cranking up the sound machine and putting in ear plugs because the week of fireworks began last night and it's loud and long. 😞  It's illegal, but is never enforced.  I really need to book a cruise over every 4th of July!

@Sharon in AZcongratulations to your DH on his retirement!

@dobiemomprayers for your GF's DH who is in the hospital.

The shore past Diamondhead is very rough   The first picture is a close-up of one an arch.

In 2013, as we sailed from Honolulu, Keanoa was at the sail away hosting a lei tossing party.  Instead of throwing them in the ocean, we threw them in the Sea View pool.

One last look as we sailed toward Ensenada.
