Any news or rumors about a ship doing 3-4 night short cruises from Port Canaveral after Allure leaves in July 2024?  There is a gap through April of 2025.

Go back one page to page 61, start at post 1507.

Saw the post about Utopia before I posted my question.  Do you think that that deployment hole is being left for short Utopia cruises.

This is from the post on the prior page, but no one knows for sure.   image.thumb.png.ac8319d240427324f50980157783cdc8.png

Saw both posts but I still think they will put in an older Oasis Class Ship.  Especially judging from prices being charged for Wonder compared to Harmony, which was in Port Canaveral prior to Wonder being homeported there.

They knew Utopia was available to fill the spot when they released all the itineraries last November.  They would not have deployed the other ships just to move then 6 months later.  Utopia will be in PC.

Can we expect West Bound trans Atlantic from Northern Europe in second half of 2024 to open for booking soon?

This year Anthem and Jewel are making such a trip, looking for 2024.

Thanks in advance

Eddie

There will be none in 2024 as Jewel goes to the Med and Anthem does not go back to the US. You can only take Serenade as part of the World Cruise.

The main 3/4 night competitor in PC is Disney, obviously who charge a lot of $$$’s. I imagine Royal will be thinking that if they pay a higher price for Disney, why wouldn’t they also pay that for Utopia.

Another reason to put Utopia on the short FL is to maximize PDCC.  Freedom class was great in terms of numbers carried to PDCC, but to maximize PDCC they need to put Oasis and Icon class there as much as possible.

The greater numbers brought to PDCC by Oasis class have meant higher prices.  With only two berths how do you maximize the number of guests going to PDCC?   Put mega ships at the pier as much as possible.

A 3/4 rotation for Utopia can garner higher rates for the new ship fever while generating higher revenue for PDCC by increasing the number of visitors.  From that perspective it makes sense to pull Voyager class and even Freedom class out of PDCC whenever possible.  That's not say they'll never go to PDCC but I suspect PDCC will see more mega ships going forward.

What is PDCC?

Theme park ship...theme park island.   Perfect combo for those that like that kind of "Disney-fied" experience (not me).    I guess it's like doing Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom multi pass.

Since PC is so close to "theme park land"....makes sense then that Icon is coming here.  I have no desire to board that ship, even being home ported 20 minutes from my house.  Not my kind of thing...but to each their own.

Other than the added leg down to Florida, the Serenade 8/10/2024 sailing is similar to this year's Jewel sailing.

Thanks. I saw that, but there’s a lot of cabins sold out on that one, probably to people who booked on longer legs.

Icon will be in Miami, but I agree that between the outrageous pricing for Icon and Wonder and now Utopia doing short cruises, I won’t be on any of them.

Dear Travel Partner,

Our original plan for Jewel of the Seas was to offer sailings departing from Amsterdam, Netherlands through August 10th, 2024. However, due to changes in our itinerary planning, Jewel of the Seas will now sail from Haifa, Israel beginning August 16th, 2024. To accommodate the repositioning of the ship for our new Haifa season, your clients' upcoming Jewel of the Seas cruise has been cancelled.

We know how much time and effort go into planning your clients' vacation, and we're terribly sorry for the inconvenience. Their vacation is important to us, along with the flexibility to make the best decision for them and those in your party. Below, we've outlined their options along with a few additional details.

Option 1: Re-book one of the following 2024 itineraries onboard Jewel of the Seas departing from Amsterdam, Netherlands:

  • 12-Night Iceland & Scotland Cruise on June 23rd sailing to:
    • Reykjavik, Iceland | Isafjordur, Iceland | Seydisfjordur, Iceland | Akureyri, Iceland | Lerwick/Shetland, Scottland | Inverness/Loch Ness Scotland | and Edinburgh, Scotland
  • 13-Night Arctic Circle Cruise on July 5th sailing to:
    • Geiranger, Norway | Molde, Norway | Honningsvag, Norway | Tromso, Norway | Arctic Circle (cruising) | Flam, Norway | Alesund, Norway | and Bergen, Norway

What they'll receive:

  • Their original stateroom category price will either be protected at their original cruise fare rate or reduced to the current cruise fare rate (whichever is lower). This excludes taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items.
    • If their booking was already paid in full and their cruise fare rate decreases, we'll provide them with a refund for the difference. They can expect to receive their refund to their original form of payment within 14 business days after we move them. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on their financial institution.
  • Lastly, you'll receive protected commission.

Option 2: Re-book any other Royal Caribbean International sailing.

  • If they prefer to re-book another sailing not included in Option 1, we'll waive any non-refundable deposit change fees.
  • Please know, they'll be responsible for any difference in pricing for their cruise fare, taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items.
    • If their booking was already paid in full and their cruise fare rate decreases, we'll provide them with a refund for the difference. They can expect to receive their refund to their original form of payment within 14 business days after we move them. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on their financial institution.
  • Lastly, your commission will be based on the revised cruise fare paid.

Option 3: If they can't find an itinerary that works for them and choose to cancel, we'll be sad to see them go. They'll receive:

  • A full refund of any paid portion of their cruise fare (including non-refundable deposits) and any pre-paid amenities to the original form of payment within 14 business days - some international banking and financial institutions may have a processing time of approximately 30 business days.
    • If they used a Future Cruise Credit on this sailing, and they request a refund instead, we'll refund any NEW funds paid above the certificate amount, and we'll reinstate their original certificate.
  • If they booked their airfare through Royal Caribbean International, it will be automatically refunded to them. However, if they booked on their own, please contact the service provider directly for their options.
  • Please know, if they choose this option, we will not provide additional compensation.
  • Lastly, you'll receive protected commission if the booking is paid in full only.

Please note, any unsold group space (inventory without names and full deposit) does not qualify for the alternate options provided.

It's important to us that your clients find the best cruise option. Please call us at 888-281-9344 by May 10th, 2023 to let us know their decision. And please know, hold times may be longer than usual. If they decide to go with Option 3, there's no need to call us. If we haven't heard from you by May 10th, 2023, their reservation will be cancelled.

If you have any questions, please contact us at:

  • 1 888 281 9344 in the U.S.
  • 1800 754 500 in Australia / 0800 102 123 in New Zealand

Sincerely,

Aurora Yera-Rodriguez
