Has anyone had any experiences with misplaced luggage at the end of the cruise and how do they go about getting it back to you? This was at Port Canaveral.

At the end of a cruise we could not find our luggage. We could not get anyone to help us .It took us two hours to find the luggage.

In Seattle, there is a dedicated team of folks who only deal with lost/left behind luggage.  Nearly every cruise day, a FED EX driver arrives late in the day to collect luggage to be shipped to passengers (at what I believe is the passenger's expense).

They really do care about reuniting lost luggage with their owner.

If you have your name/address info inside the luggage, they will eventually get it back to you if they find it. Otherwise, it ends up in a huge warehouse ( I believe in Alabama) where it will be "flea-marketed" to anyone who wants to buy the contents.

It's just over 2 hours from where I live, but I've never bothered to go look.  I have heard people getting some amazing deals and also some "interesting" finds.

The name, address and phone number is on the outside of the luggage so they know who we are but how do they get it to us?

I think someone may have taken your bag instead of their own. Hopefully when they get home and realize it they’ll contact RC and explain so they can get their own bag back. They can use Fed Ex or other services. The airlines have to send bags all the time that get delayed.

Most modern luggage has closed pockets to hold a concealed name tag.  Make sure you have that filled in with the correct name and phone number.  I also place a copy of that info on the inside.  I've never had a problem, but I like to be prepared.

How many years ago was that? The times have changed from long ago.

If it's a tag it can accidentally get pulled off unless it's taped on or in a slot thing.

Did you report it to anyone at the port?  What did they say?

We called Customerservice as soon as we got home which was Saturday and they said we would have to call Lost and Found which is closed on Saturday and Sunday. So we still have not talked to anybody about this.

Sorry, rhetorical. How do you answer that logic?

My bag got misplaced in Fort Lauderdale  about 7 years ago.  We searched everywhere no bag , so I  gave a description  and figured  it would eventually be found. It was found 2 weeks later at the Princess Terminal, still don't  know how in the world it got there. The company that handles these cases shipped it back to us.

I do have to add at the time we were smokers and had 4 cartons of cigarettes in the suitcase.  I  not knowing told the agent they were in the bag well they had to remove them cause it's against the law to send cigarettes via mail. The agent told me I  could fly out to get them otherwise they would be disposed of. I'm on the other side of the country so I  told him to toss them.

coming off the ship at Miami another passenger took my suitcase instead of theirs.  Even though they had one suitcase left after everyone left, after they confirmed it wasn't in the building they made me wait, RC were not that much help.  After three weeks it was found but it was Delta that got in touch, it seems whoever took it flew Delta but abandoned the case at an airport.  Delta put it on a plane to Heathrow and I had to be escorted airside and make a declaration that there could be anything in my case and I would like it searched.  Nothing added in the end but one item  removed.
