The Celebrity "Price Guarantee" On A Price Drop That I Didn't Get- Watch Out!

Celebrity didn't honor their "Price Guarantee" for my Celebrity Apex transatlantic cruise when they

dropped the price for Florida residents.  Reason: I had already paid in full.

 

Question: Are there travel  agents that will bok a celebrity cruise and honor a "price

"guarantee" even after I paid in full?

There needs to be available cabins in the same category that you booked.

I took a screenshot and sent it to my UK TA and surprisingly we were given $1100 OBC.

If you are past final payment, you are not due anything at all. No TA is going to pay you the difference which would have to come out of their pocket.

Normally the reason is not that you paid in full but the price decrease occurred after final payment date.   These often co-inside.   I was able to get a price reduction on a cruise I had paid for a week prior to final payment when the price reduction occurred 1 day prior to Final Payment Date.    Celebrity refunded the difference to my credit card.

 

I have never seen a travel agent guarantee prices other than what the cruise lines offer.  Having said that -  many years ago I was on a group cruise and a number of price reductions came out due to 9/11 and the drop in cruising -  they were able to negotiate a price reduction given as an OBC.

After final payment no price drops.  Depending upon how much the price dropped you may be a Lego upgrade your cabin.

Great idea.   I once saw a CS show up after final payment that was only $400 more than our Sky Suite -  I grabbed it.
