Good morning friends!  It's 60F and will be cloudy with a high of 79 today.  By next weekend the temps will cool down quite a bit with 30's at night.  Plans today are to do the weekly laundry.  Thank you Rich @richwmnfor posting the Daily and Fleet Report.  A busy day for American college football.  Michigan is playing Rutgers, but I can certainly cheer on Georgia.  Go Dawgs!  We don't eat Chinese take out often, but I do enjoy it once in a while.  I especially enjoy it in the Lido on a BHB.  I think everyone with red hair should love it because it's unique.  The white bean cassoulet could be a good choice but I would have to study the ingredients first.  At least the title doesn't mention kale!  As for the quote, I think women would like to be understood as well as loved.  So there!

Thank you Roy @rafinmdfor posting the Care and Celebration lists even while on the auto train.  I hope the trip is going well so far.  Many people to pray for what with all the physical ailments being suffered lately.  I hope that Jacqui @kazu 's foot is healing.  I haven't read any of the threads since last night so will have to investigate.  People should be boarding by now in Barcelona.  Happy sailing to our CC people on ships all over the world.  Cheers to all who are on the the Celebration list!  Hoping Debbie @dfishis having a good move, with no upsets at all.  Can't wait to hear about it!

On to port of the day.  Invergordon (Inverness), Scotland, UK was posted on March 1, 2022 and below is the link to that day's posts.

In 2015 I visited Inverness while on a cruise stopped in Greenock, Scotland.  It was a cold, rainy day and the following day I stayed on the ship while the Royal Princess was in Invergordon.  I'll post the photos DH and our Myrtle Beach friends took in Invergordon.  Posted from March 1, 2022.

On May 17, 2015 we and our friends arrived in Invergordon, Scotland on the Royal Princess.  As I said I felt badly because of that darn cold I caught so stayed onboard.  I have DH's photos and our friend Bob's photos.  Unfortunately his camera had not been set to the local time so they are not in sequence with our own photos so I'm having to go back and forth trying to keep up with their walk.

Good morning! Another beautiful but dry day with no rain in future forecast. We had a lovely lunch date yesterday overlooking the harbor and fishing fleet. It was so filling that we skipped dinner and again it was early to bed. Maybe gaining that extra hour tonight will get us synchronized to Central time.

We rode through Inverness this summer but didn’t stop as we had visited on a prior trip to Scotland. Scotland is so beautiful complimented by wonderful and amiable citizens. I could live there if and when they decide to drive on the right side of the road!

Getting ready to head to the local farmers market to see what’s being offered this morning. So blessed and thankful for our wonderful lifestyle. Never take it for granted and savor every moment.

Thanks for the reports, post and laughs.

In 2017 on the Prinsendam for 106 days, we visited Invergordon twice.  The first time was on August 7 when we rented a car and headed to Loch Ness.  Unfortunately, Nessie did not make an appearance that day.

These pictures are of Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, which is in ruins.  I walked down to the ruins while DH stayed at the visitors center and enjoyed the view.  I have some pictures of the ruins, but there are more people than ruins in the pictures.

DSC08911.thumb.JPG.131baf40063e8cf69027781778b8dd8d.JPG

From Loch Ness, we drove to Cawdor Castle.  We walked up to the entrance of the castle, but decided we did not want to go through the building because of all the stairs.  Instead, I wandered through the gardens.

The outside of Cawdor Castle, and yes, that is a working drawbridge.

A few pictures of the gardens for the Garden Club and others who enjoy looking at flowers.

We then drove through Inverness and toured the Ord Distillery, but I could not find any really good pictures of the town or distillery.

North Sea off shore oil rigs parked in the bay as we sailed that day.

We were back in Invergordon on September 12.  This time in our rental car, we headed east and north to explore the area.  Our first stop was Dunrobin Castle.  We just took a picture of the castle from the car park, and decided to skip the tour.

DSC00292.thumb.JPG.5f564689dd0fb352ad4e566cd34cec51.JPG

The rest of the pictures are scenes along the road and of the various towns we visited.   We drove through and walked around Tain, Dornoch and Alness, but I don't remember which pictures are from which town.  They were all picturesque as was the countryside.

Good morning everyone. I'm still having trouble logging in on my ipad which is where I always did before this week. I'm on my desktop now and it's letting me stay logged in since yesterday.

Funny, I had take out Chinese Food last night. I'm allergic to MSG and they made it without it. Really very good. Not a fan of today's quote.

Off this morning to have my hair cut and then coming back to sit outside with friends and enjoy the trees and the leaves. Today is the last day of DST and I'm not a fan of dark at 4:30. I wish we would keep it all year long.

Stay safe everyone,

Carol

Good Morning Dailyites!

Finally, we feel as though we are emerging into the light. This moving stuff is not for cissies! I don't know how @dfish Debbie and others did it over longer distances so efficiently. I am totally in awe of that kind of organization (and I like to think of myself as pretty darn organized).

So most of the 'stuff' has been unpacked and relocated. Ish. Books and their shelving are a separate line item altogether. We have contractors galore lined up to work on the garage, window coverings, basement, etc. Hopefully most things will be completed before we before we board the NS in three weeks! Yesterday, I went through our file for the cruise(s), doublechecking for things to be done, but I think the only thing left to do is the medical check about 3 days before boarding. HAL's website is now a BFF with our credit card, LOL!

In order to get to this place, I had to ignore CC for a few weeks -- usually, the Daily/Fleet Report is a must-read. Thanks to everyone of you who contribute so frequently and share your knowledge all over CC, but especially this thread. I also read about the CC gang getting to Barcelona (wow!) that should be boarding the Oosterdam today -- probably right now.

Today, the Montpelier Horse Races are the big activity in our area of Virginia - just down the road at James Madison's Montpelier. It is very popular, but we don't have tickets. However, the siren call of the ever-present To Do list will ensure we are entertained, LOL!

Heartfelt thoughts to those going through challenges. And hearty Attaboys to those on @rafinmd Roy's Celebrations list. Best wishes to all,

-Cat

Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida.

Not sure about the quote, just because a famous person said something doesn't make it gospel.

Good days especially since DW had red hair in 1969 when I met her and married 6 months later.

We love Chinese food and have a great Asian Fusion restaurant in Port Charlotte which we visit once a month.

American Football is not my favorite sport, I'd rather watch Baseball, Hockey, Golf and English Premier League Soccer which should make Graham happy. If there is nothing else to watch, I bite the bullet and will watch an NFL or College game.

Astros can clinch the World Series tonight.

The fingertip wasn't getting better so we went to the emergency room at 8AM this morning, they drained the abscess but I need to stay on the antibiotic and see a hand specialist on Tuesday, some minor surgery might be needed, initial diagnosis is I have Paronychia, I probably won't be playing Golf for a couple of weeks.

Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.

Congrats on accomplishing your move.  I hope you feel settled soon.  Our last move was 11 years ago which has to be a record for us staying in one place that long!  We packed absolutely everything at that time, but with my back and passing years, I don't know if I could do it all myself again.  Of course DH did as much as I did, I didn't do everything all alone.  I remember I lost 5 pounds that month with all the bending loading boxes - quite the aerobic activity!

I'm so sorry to hear you had to go to the ER for that fingertip.  Too bad the antibiotic alone didn't do the trick.  But the worst of it has to be staying away from playing golf for a few weeks!  How will you manage??😂

Thanks Sandi, going to have to manage somehow. We have a cruise on December 4th, hopefully this is all cleared up by then.

@MISTER 67

1. Port Charlotte is often the 'meet halfway' place for us and some SW Florida friends. May I ask which Asian Fusion place you enjoy?

2. Ouch!!! Hopefully you will be back on the course again soon.

Carol, since eveything is almost back to normal I haven't had any trouble logging in on the pad.

I think most Chinese restaurants are not using MSG anymore.

Two weeks today we board N. Statendam for an extended stay.  Can anyone tell me how early self-disembarkation starts in Port Everglades.  Is there a priority line or does it require getting up early to stand in line?  It's tough to ask questions about the end of our 7-week Caribbean getaway but it is easier to plan the whole experience while in control of fast internet.

Good afternoon everyone.

Thank you to Rich for the Daily and Fleet Report.

i am really batting zero with the days and almost everything else.

i am not a football fan, not fond of Asian food, and don’t have red hair.

i do like the quote,

I will skip the meal and the wine as well as the drink.

i have never been to the port.

Thank you Roy for the Cares and celebration lists. i wish you a very enjoyable cruise.  It looks like you are already having a good time on the Auto Train.  A fun way to travel.

DH and I spent this morning looking over various designs for a new configuration of our master bathroom.  Since the whole place is gutted, we can really do whatever we want.  We have decided to forget about the garden tub and put in a big shower in its place.  Then where the old shower was, we plan to put in a second linen closet.  I never understood why this house only had one small linen closet.  It is so stuffed and I have resorted to using dresser drawers in the spare bedroom for some linens because I don’t have enough room.

Just as we were finishing up with discussing the design based on a neighbor’s bathroom, DH decided to spill his coffee all over the table.  This caused a big cleanup.  Just what I need—extra work!

All done now.

So today’s agenda is to tackle the email problem.  Get as many emails converted from hargray to Outlook.com.  I hope I make a good dent in this.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour.

God Bless,

Terri

The UW Huskies were able to pull off winning a game from behind last night during our atmospheric river event. No local football interests until Sunday's Seahawk game.

My mother was a redhead, and I was a redhead along with five of my other siblings. The last three siblings were adopted, so only six of the nine of us were redheads.

We had some really strong winds last night and the power went off about 10 PM. I put off getting up out of our warm bed, hoping the power would come back on this morning, but finally gave up and started the generator about 9 AM. No estimate for when the power will be restored; it could be days. At least it warmed up a bit outside (currently 40 degrees F.) The rain has slowed some also, only about three inches the past 24 hours.

I’ve seen it start as early as 6:30am and as late as 9:30am, though the late one was just after the restart so it’s more an anomaly than the norm.

Disembarkation will go according to your travel plans so, for example, if you have an early flight then they will assign you an early disembarkation.  Also, Neptune Suites, for example, will be assigned but they are free to disembark whenever they like.

Despite numerous requests to not congregate near the gangway until your tag has been called, people will congregate but they won’t allow you off unless you have the tag which has been called.

On all our cruises since the restart, passengers selected the time/tag color they wished to disembark. Not assigned.

Self-embarkation does not need a tag.

Yes, that’s how it used to be in my experience as well but for the last 3 HAL cruises since the restart we were assigned instead of choosing.

Oh, forgot about self disembarkation!  Yes, if you lug your own luggage there is no need to go by the luggage tag times and you can disembark as soon as you wish.

Our countdown has started-2 weeks until we leave for Rome and Florence before boarding the Island Princess for a TA with a stop in Casablanca. A check off the bucket list! We decided to stay on for another 10 days before we fly to Atlanta to spend Christmas and our 53rd anniversary with DS and family. Time is flying by in a lot of ways. Talked with DS this morning and thought he had a cold-nope, cheering for those UW Huskies HAL4NOW mentioned. We also lost power but only for a few minutes, thank goodness, although now we will have reset the clocks twice after the change time tomorrow. 🙂 Have a great weekend everyone!
