brevardcruiser Posted November 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Just venting. I’m a loyal royal person but pricing 2 adults then 2 adults plus 2 children for a 3 night cruise is way out of whack. 2 adults is couple hundred. Take on 2 kids 2700!! Common! SG65CB Posted November 10, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Those are two different types of cabins. What is the price of the Ocean View (3N) cabin 3630 for two adults no children?
cyntil8ing Posted November 10, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2022 You’re comparing ocean view to inside. But maybe book two cabins? We’ve booked dad and son in one and mom and daughter in another. Sometimes close by, other time on entirely different decks.
Rare brillohead Posted November 10, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Yeah, you need to compare apples to apples. Inside to inside, outside to outside, balcony to balcony. Rooms that hold four people are sold at a premium price. It's often cheaper to get two different rooms.
Merion_Mom Posted November 10, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Looks like a cruise where interiors are not selling very well, so they drop that price drastically. It's actually not unusual. It is true on the cruise I am currently on - last minute interiors were going for a fraction of what people had paid for higher categories.
trajan Posted November 10, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 10, 2022 There’s a bunch of cruises next year where the price for 2 adults and 2 kids is a huge jump over 2 adults alone. In the past if it was a better deal we’ve booked an interior for 2 people and a balcony for the other 2.
nelblu Posted November 10, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 10, 2022 I found many times that it is cheaper go 2. Snobs vs a quad

MiniChunks Posted November 10, 2022 #10 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Find a good TA who can help you arrange things in the most economically sensible way. Mine has done this a few times and saved me a bunch.

smokeybandit Posted November 10, 2022 #12 Share Posted November 10, 2022 You're booking a last minute cruise though a 3rd party. No real surprise
Rare HappyTexan44 Posted November 10, 2022 #13 Share Posted November 10, 2022 We saw that too. I was even looking at Interior Guaranteed in both cases. The cheapest option was two connecting interior promenade view rooms for us. But when I was trying to put all of us in the same room we were getting a room that held 4 and it wasn't the same room code for when it was two. Husband was very happy to have a door between us and the girls. As a pale redhead I think I'll like the interior non-sunburn view.
Toddcan Posted November 10, 2022 #14 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Everyone's answers are correct... BUT... Still... $2,700 for 4 people in an Freedom Class OV cabin on a 3 day cruise?? that's $225 per person per night. OP still has a point - that's just a nasty price.

It was last minute and you are booking different category's. Book two of the noted interiors and your price is half. Pretty great deal then.
anaf444 Posted November 10, 2022 #17 Share Posted November 10, 2022 (edited) This is quite common, unfortunately. We booked an oceanview for 2 adults and 1 child for $2,000. The same room on the same sailing for 2 adults is $1,300. Edited November 10, 2022 by anaf444

That is very misleading. Again, all cruise lines have these fake campaigns, nothing new under the sun. Edited November 11, 2022 by anaf444

You could be in a very nice suite for that price per night for four people on most ships. The obvious answer is to book two separate cabins which would be better for space anyhow.
