Rare mysty Posted May 2 Author #2580 Share Posted May 2 Yesterday we were in Otaru, Japan. Definitely chilly temperatures. Snow on the mountains as we sailed in. The tour we had booked had been canceled so we did a short walkabout..... We had a lovely send off on sail away.....
Rare mysty Posted May 2 Author #2581 Share Posted May 2 We're now into our second sea day en route to Dutch Harbor, Alaska. I'm not sure how many sea days we are facing. We will be crossing the Intercontinental Date Line at some point. As expected, temperatures are in the very chilly range. We braved the Grill last night along with a number of hardy souls. It was Formal Night.

Rare mysty Posted May 3 Author #2585 Share Posted May 3 Tonight we cross the International Dateline. We'll set our clocks back 23 hours and repeat May 4th. I really hope today is a good day. I'd rather not repeat a not-so-good day! 5

Rare mysty Posted May 7 Author #2589 Share Posted May 7 Today is our last sea day before Dutch Harbor. Temperature continues to be glacial. Our suite is cold and there are few places on the ship that are warm. I thought I had planned for this. It turns out that I am woefully unprepared! 😒

Not sick of them. 😅 However, I did pack things that I haven't worn very much and I didn't pack enough cold weather stuff. It isn't a real problem though. I am dreading the packing! 😒
Rare mysty Posted May 8 Author #2597 Share Posted May 8 Today was a sea day en route to Kodiak, Kodiak Island, Alaska. Here are a couple of photos from our sail away from Dutch Harbor yesterday..... This is what our world map looks like now. Our voyage appears as a black line and our current location is shown by the red magnet.
Rare jpalbny Posted May 8 #2598 Share Posted May 8 Mysty, you need a Pacific-centered map for this voyage! No crossing from one side to the other. 6
