I'm back from donating blood, which went smoothly. The donation site is a church that is basically around the corner from me; one of the other donors was a monk from the Hindu temple that is about the same distance away in the opposite direction.

I'm enjoying see the photos of puppies, even those that are no longer really puppies. FWIW, I'm quite partial to Brittany spaniels.

@kochleffel Sorry to hear that work is so bothersome. And I hope you can get better sleep; it's restorative.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List.

Be well everyone.

I'm glad you posted your photos today.  Great photo of you by the way.  I am going to try to concentrate harder on the day of the week from now on especially at 5 am.  I notice I also have trouble with NE, NW, SE and SW and need to edit often.  I know which direction I'm talking about but often seem to type the wrong one.

Good morning, Dailyites, the reservoir has reached 100% here, so I'm happy about that.  Now any more rain that falls can be returned to the ocean.  I imagine that means the water tab le is higher, too, so the farmers (and Butchart's) can utilize their wells.

The meal today sounds very interesting.  I will have to check feta for calcium - I'm always on the lookout for that, and Boursin doesn't have as much as cows' milk cheeses do.  I do love it though.  Feta is also a goats' milk cheese, I think.

We have been to Punta Arenas - along with Roy, on Zaandam in 2017.  We went on a long, all-day tour that someone on the roll call organized.  I am amazed at how like my photos are to those already posted. The same things must catch our eyes - like the dogs... We also went to an old fort, and to a monument in the middle of the country.

Good morning all!
After a beautiful day yesterday, the rain will return this afternoon and cooler again.

I've never had Melba Toast,  love chips and dip but love it too much so it's rarely in the house. I'm a cat person, but do love my grand puppies Rogue and Pepper.  Pepper is technically still a puppy, she's under 6 months old and will be a big girl!   Funny quote!  Punta Arenas is on our South America/Antarctica cruise in 2 years.  I'm enjoying the photos, thanks to all who are posting!  The meal looks yummy, will pass on the drink and wine.  Last night we had some delicious fresh halibut -- yum!  I think tonight may just be BLTs and potato salad.

Sandi @StLouisCruisersA big congratulations to your DGS in Michigan!  Being 2nd in his graduating class and a NM finalist are both things to be very proud of.  Adorable puppies. 🙂

Happy Birthday @seagarsmoker!  Great way to celebrate a birthday.

Carol @mamaofamiI hope your cataract surgery goes well today and will be a "piece of cake".

Debbie @dfishSo glad you're doing well after your surgery.  Hoping your blood test today shows your levels are in the normal range now.  Moose Tracks ice cream ..... one of my favorites!!  Good choice.

@TiogaCruiserGorgeous table decorations!

Jacqui @kazuGreat news that you're free to drive now!

Vanessa @JazzyVI'm glad your knees are better but sorry your hand joints are worse.

My 2 grand pups Rogue and Pepper.  Both have been to puppy school and are very well trained.  DS and DDIL would have it no other way and these pups are their world. 🙂

If you don’t mind me sticking my nose where it doesn’t belong and a bit of advice - Have Pauline put the car in and out enough times (she doesn’t have to back it in - she can back it out) so that she is comfortable with it.

Our SUV is huge (bought for DH to travel to Grand Bay in winter storms and to hold 3 dogs - 2 ginormous and one medium size) and takes up a lot of space in the garage.  Once we got it, he always backed it out for me.

When Jose went in the hospital, the thought of backing it out overwhelmed me and I am still nervous about it when I haven’t done it for a number of months.  You never know if the time might come that Pauline has to put it in and out herself and if she is comfortable with it, it is one less challenge (and challenges can be overwhelming when you are facing a lot) for her to deal with.  Just a suggestion.

I agree, Pauline should probably practice.  DH is our usual driver, but I've been driving back and forth to our gym in my huge SUV.  We have a double door but DH parks pretty far to the right so when I start to back out warnings flash and beep, telling me that I'm approaching an object on my right rear fender.  It's a bit scary!  I tend to pull in farther from the door frame and we were just talking this morning about the differences in our garage parking.  I'd hate to have a narrow opening with my large vehicle, but I realize many people do.  The more practice the better!🚙

Good afternoon from a very windy, 20-21 mph, and cloudy central Texas.  At least, the temperature is a comfortable 79F.

I was very impressed with the two guys who delivered and installed the washer.  We got an email about noon that they were two stops away.  Then, at the next stop, they called and told DH they were just down the street, and would be at the house shortly.  We had it set up for them to bring the washer in through the carport because coming in from the front door with a washer on a dolly would be a tight squeeze.  We were surprised when they carried the 148 pound washer in the house.

It took hardly anytime for one of them to hook the washer up and set it in place.  They also did a quick clean cycle to check for leaks.  They had six more deliveries to make before heading back to the warehouse in Dallas.

The washer is similar to the one in Quartzsite; so after a quick reading of the instructions, I feel confident about laundry day tomorrow.

We had a productive morning, I think.  I got a new battery for my watch, and did a bit of last-minute shopping, while Pat had a coffee at Timmie's (first since his surgery two weeks ago), then we went by the surgeon's office and arranged to communicate by email while we're away and to have his bone scan after we get back.  Then to the computer shop where Pat needed a little tweak of his iPad.  So now perhaps, I will start packing.  I think it's a "go"...  I'm considering doing a Live From, I'm not altogether sure it's a good idea, just in case we have to cut it short, but if I can persuade others on the roll call to join in it might be interesting.  What do you think?

In memory of our darlings - Trapper as a puppy in Alaska, and baby Bella as we brought her home.

Of course I don't mind your advice and I am so sorry about your injury and the loss of Jose must be devastating for you and I wish I could help.

Pauline rarely drives and has never drove my SUV yet and it is 9 months old.

My car is on our drive and her small car is in the garage.

Reversing a car is her nightmare and she would just park on our drive if I was not here.

In an emergency she would just use any car that was on the drive.

Pauline doesn't like driving and has never driven over 100 miles in 1 year whereas I drive 40,000 miles plus a year as a sales representative.

When I had unusual chest pain on December 18th 2018 I drove Pauline and her car to hospital and when I was rushed to the cardiac unit with a confirmed heart attack Pauline had 3 days of driving to the hospital and back daily to see me.

Graham.

Ann, your dogs Trapper and Bella were so cute.  Truly darlings as you said.  Yes, we would all enjoy a live from with you and others from the roll call chiming in during your cruise.  Hope all the preparations go smoothly and you are soon enjoying your time aboard ship.🚢

2 gorgeous dogs Ann.

A live from your cruise would be nice but I'm sure we all would just like you and Pat to have a relaxing time and the occasional photo would be appreciated.

Bertie Woofster is a real cutie!

Thanks for your photos in Chile, Ann.  I love the coffee cups for the wine - whatever works, right?

Your granddogs are very cute.  They look like they love one another.

@St Pete Cruiser enjoy lovely Auckland, and all of New Zealand!

Great idea Paul!  What they don't know won't hurt them.🍷

Beautiful photo of Maverick, Jacqui.

I couldn't read the article (paywall) but what a shame it didn't advance further than the launch.

That's what Sadie looks like when you throw her soft toy up in the air.  She could be an Olympic athlete.  Gracie never did that!🐶😂

Thank you Sandi.

Pauline hates driving and if I wasn't here she would trade our 2 cars and get a new small car that she would feel comfortable driving and just leave the car on our drive at night.

Graham.

I think you should do the LIVE thread if a) you enjoy doing them and b) you want to.  Your last one was fabulous.

And don’t worry about cutting it short - heck I had to do that last time and hopefully if I do another one no one will discount me for that.  Nor do I think they would you 👍

Canadians, take heart. My passport just arrived in the mail, that is registered so had to sign for it. I submitted the application in person on March 13. Great turn around time.

Woo hoo!  That is really good news, indeed.

Ahh thanks - before the days of Ipads so it’s a pic of a pic.  I still remember obedience school - turned out he had a dominant strain (not unusual in the breed I found out) - and I thought I should wait.  LOL - the trainer (fabulous lady) said do you want train a 30 pound puppy or a 100 pound puppy?  I became the alpha FAST and he became a fabulous dog -  he was a rescue but when I was president of the SPCA we had an officer that often came to meetings to brief us and she was intrigued by my dog and asked if we could meet after - and a tiny of breech technically - I found out he was a purebred taken from a bad breeder.  His mother and all the puppies but two died despite their best efforts.  A true herding, guard dog and yet so gentle with children.  A couple of our neighbours’s grandchildren used to ride him.  LOL.

That’s how all the big dogs got his nickname - puppy pony.

I hear you on the beeps and warnings.  I’m not touching anything and it throws me off.  Our garage is only a single (why we eventually went to one vehicle when DH was going to only work on contract - HUGE miscalculation for poor me) and the beeping is very disconcerting.  I’m glad I’m not alone in that.  Thanks 👍

Not much to report since this morning.  We have spent most of our time at the Seaview pool area today. Had light lunch of tacos since we are having big dinner.

The restaurant manager told us they have several sick crew staff, which in turn cuts back service in some areas of the ship.

Talking with cruisers who were onboard last week,  they had a significant number of new crew members leave/join Saturday,  including the Captain.  The restaurant manager confirmed this and said they will have several crew members leaving/joining this Saturday and the following as they are getting ready for transatlantic and European cruise season.

We will be having shrimp appetizers being delivered at 5, then pinnacle grill dinner around 5:30.

Two days ago we got an email that a woman who lives on our street was in home hospice.  She is a long time resident of perhaps 10 years and lived alone though the email mentioned a relative who was with her.  She apparently lost her fight today because we saw a hearse drive up our street and stop at her house.  So quickly she is gone.  Prayers for Lana and may God rest her soul.🙏

@superomai have been trying to renew mine for months. First you needed an appointment now says go to office.  I live close to a major Service Canada. How long were you in the office? Did you get your photo in advance or do it there?   Thanks for info.

I did my photo at Walmart a few days before. We too have a major service Canada office here. I was just over an hour in the office and chose to have my finished passport mailed to me to avoid going in again to pick up. I printed the application from the website beforehand and had it completed.

hope this helps

Thanks for all the wonderful photos and memes today. Prayers for all who need them and cheers for all who are celebrating. Debbie @dfish I'm glad that the surgery went well, and @kazu Jacqui congratulations on getting clearance to drive again. I know, despite the weather, you're happy to regain a bit of independence!

I like today's dish & will try it when DS gets home this weekend.

We had two marvelous dogs over the years, but the current feline residents have made it clear that no puppies are allowed!

The garage door opener has been replaced - so much quieter than the old one!

No word from the surgeon yet...grumble, but I decided to give the cardiologist two weeks before I nagged him again.

My outdoor thermometer read 81F this afternoon - delightful! It supposed to be rainy & cool tomorrow, though. Ah well!

I am very late today. I am not going to lie but yesterday was horrible for me. I held it together until the evening and then I had a big cry fest.  Thanks for all the kind words and support.

I got my cast off and I was a bit freaked out by my deformed looking thumb. The PA and OT were not concerned (or real good poker faces). I got a custom splint that is hotter than blazes. I just ordered a liner that should come tomorrow. I don’t start therapy until next Tuesday. They assured me I can’t mess it up so I will be doing range of motion exercises on my own until then.

I hope everyone has a good evening. I hope to be in better shape tomorrow.

Happy Thursday.  We've had some busy days here, my 6th grade sewing kiddos had big smiles yesterday as they finished their pillowcases!  I had fun watching them!  Cleaned out my car today, trading it in for a new one next week!  Yay!

Haven't been to the port, the pics are great!  The food today looks good.  It's great to see @rafinmdposting his food and sunrise/sunset pictures again!

I have to post a puppy picture today...Cooper isn't a puppy anymore, he's celebrating his 11th birthday on Sunday!

Prayers for those in need, and Shout Outs for those celebrating and cruising!

I can't blame you for being freaked out.  I haven't had a broken bone but I'm sure getting the cast off, it isn't always pretty.  A good cry is excellent therapy sometimes and tomorrow will be better. Hugs to you Lorraine (my Mom's name by the way).🤗
