melbur Posted March 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2023 On Jewel, they are placing these on chairs that haven't been occupied for a while. HD said they are fleet wide and just arrived for this sailing. 23

Rare TwoMisfits Posted March 27, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 27, 2023 Spectacular. My fam and I swim on a cruise (not lay out), so we only need 1 chair for all 6 of our stuff, and we just find one when we arrive at the pools. It would be nice to not struggle to find a chair.
fla33023 Posted March 27, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2023 (edited) Had them on Freedom last week. Not sure they'd work alone. Enforcement is key. Edited March 27, 2023 by fla33023

Maybe instead if adding pay for cabanas to the pool deck RCI could have used the space for people such as yourself to stach their belongs while the swim or use the hot tubs. 13
Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 27, 2023 #9 Share Posted March 27, 2023 They would need one for almost every chair on Oasis. They were almost all taken before sunrise and deck crew did nothing.

Rare island lady Posted March 27, 2023 #12 Share Posted March 27, 2023 Nice idea...and I like the obvious red color....but if not enforced, pretty much worthless. 😞 I am not a "lounge chair lizard" and have never used them or the pools/hot tubs, so I don't use the pool loungers. (Prefer my own balcony) But is the ship not swiping sea pass cards to check out a pool towel any longer? I would think a collection of towels on chairs not being used, then tossed into the towel bin would generate a charge? But that probably opens up a hot mess on that subject. 😉

cruisegirl1 Posted March 27, 2023 #16 Share Posted March 27, 2023 From the looks of those folded towels just holding chairs, it seems it is not working. Towels were out at 6:30AM last week on Wonder. The sun was not even up yet. M

Rare orville99 Posted March 27, 2023 #18 Share Posted March 27, 2023 Better solution than the post it notes they were using on Mariner (which they did enforce)
melbur Posted March 27, 2023 Author #19 Share Posted March 27, 2023 This is the 2nd sea day and it's being enforced. I think the purpose is for people to see reserving chairs is being noticed, and may cause some folks to think twice before doing it again. One can hope 😎
Rare HappyTexan44 Posted March 27, 2023 #20 Share Posted March 27, 2023 If you are a non-chair hog and walking around looking for a chair, aren't those basically a sign saying, "These chairs are free. Just toss the stuff onto an adjacent chair and it is yours."
voyager70 Posted March 27, 2023 #21 Share Posted March 27, 2023 As others have said enforcement is the key. Hopefully they’re finally getting serious about this issue. We’ll find out how well it’s being implemented on EX next month.

Mom*3 Posted March 27, 2023 #23 Share Posted March 27, 2023 We saw attendants move towels and belongings 3 times on the Wonder over Spring Break. One group had 16 chairs and they cleared 5 of the 16.
