Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily fleet report.  Today is going to be cold with rain on its way. I’ll pass on today’s meal suggestion, instead I think we will have sloppy joes.  I haven’t used a Bunsen burner since high school.  I hope everyone has a good day today.

Good morning friends!  Today it is 49 and we will have a high of 76 with cloudy skies.  DH and I plan on running to Kroger for groceries after breakfast and getting home before the roofer comes by at 11 (Southern time) to replace some gutters around the porch-living room area with larger ones and improve the downspout transition from one roof to the other.  More rain is on the way late tonight or in the morning so we shall see how this works out.⛈️

Thank you Rch @richwmn for the Fleet Report and Daily information!  Zuiderdam is on its way to Tenerife, Canary Islands right now.  Rich tells me they did not get their provisions loaded onto the ship and had to leave without.  They hope to get some supplies in the Canary Islands.  I have heard they are out of some food due to problems with the fruits/vegetables loaded in South Africa.  I read about it by reading all the World Cruise live-from threads which present a varied experience from everyone.

This Friday morning we have Bunsen Burner Day which I hope someone somewhere will be thrilled about.  Next up is National Clam on the Half Shell Day, but I will pass on that one.  And National Crayon Day which I can wholeheartedly support.  I like the quote, pass on the drink and wine, and will see if anyone here decides to make the menu suggestion.  I have never eaten red snapper since I eat very few types of fish and Coconut-Clam broth sounds pretty horrible to me.  But you go ahead and enjoy it.  I'll stick to my usual fare for a Friday in Lent.🐡

The port today is Robinson Crusoe Island, Chile, sometimes called Isla Robinson Crusoe.  This Chilean island was renamed Robinson Crusoe in 1966 from Mas a Tierra.  I have never been to that island before and hope to see some new photos today.  We had this port once before on February 13, 2022.  Here is the link to that date for your convenience in reposting your photos.

Prayers today for all on our Care list and for all who are in need of them.  🙏  We hope for improvement for all and better days ahead.  Three cheers 🎉🎉🎉 for our Celebration list.  Happy sailing and bon voyage to our friends cruising or preparing to sail.  🚢  Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for helping Roy with the lists!  Thanks also to Debbie @dfish, Ann @cat shepard and Dixie @summer slope for the food, drink and wine reports.  And to all who post memes and give us a laugh everyday, we appreciate you.

I hope today goes out like a lamb for every one of you.  Have a safe and Festive Friday!

Thanks for the Daily Report and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Odd & End items from our cruise last week:

No potato chips for the entire cruise. We ordered room service for lunch twice, Suzi wanted a club sandwich and chips, and we were told both times they had no chips.

Pre-cruise placed an order for chocolate-covered strawberries for my birthday. The concierge called that afternoon and said the strawberries were bad and would not be delivered.

We asked for a fruit bowl in our room and were told they only had bananas as most of the fruit wasn’t edible. Our room steward asked us before we left for dinner what kind of cookies I liked, I said, oatmeal. After dinner, I stopped by the Lido to get a glass of milk as I have always done on HAL (I like a cold glass of milk before going to sleep at night). They do not have milk on the lido as the other ships do. So, I stopped by and asked the Concierge, she made a couple of calls and said room service would deliver it.  Well, that started a bizarre week-long string of events. I head down to the casino and Suzi goes shopping. When I get back to the cabin, there are 2 glasses of milk sitting on the table and a plate of 8 oatmeal cookies. It would take me a week to eat 8 cookies… The next morning, I tried to explain to our room stewards that I can’t eat that many oatmeal cookies and if there is a way of getting a sealed bottle of milk instead of an open glass of it. That evening, Suzi is getting ready to take a shower and hears someone knocking on the door – it’s room service, and now they are delivering 4 glasses of milk and a plate of 8 assorted cookies…  So, the next day I talked to the concierge and explained the issue. She calls around and finds someone who can deliver a bottle of milk every night and no more cookies! I am thinking, great, this is all straightened out now… That night, once again, Suzi answers the door, and room service wants to deliver 4 bowls of oatmeal…. She explains they we did not order any oatmeal and the person leaves. Fifteen minutes later, someone else knocks on the door, they have a sealed bottle of milk, and tada, a plate of 8 oatmeal cookies…. I made one last attempt to explain this to the room stewards, please, no more oatmeal cookies! Well, you guessed it, every night, for the rest of the cruise, we received a sealed bottle of milk and a plate of 8 assorted cookies…

Thanks for the Fleet Update and General Info SLC plus JazzyV.

National Crayon Day: the number one lesson for kids; the writing is on the wall.

National Bunsen Burner Day. Now I know what that flame under my still is called!

National Clam on the Halfshell; never had this before. Use to like fried clams on the Howard Johnson menu.

Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Report.

A light dusting of snow overnight.  It should warm up today and we could have showers to wash away some snow.

An interesting collection of days.  I haven't used a bunsen burner since high school.  I'll pass on the clams but love crayons!

Interesting quote.

I'll pass on the meal suggestion and the drink, not sure about the wine.

Thanks for pictures of today's port.

Prayers for many.  Cheers for all the celebrations.

Have a wonderful day.

Stay safe.

Happy Friday.  Thank you Rich, Sandi, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie,  I think I posted all my Crusoe photos last time.  I haven't seen a Bunsen Burner or used a crayon in decades.  I love the Osler quote but will pass on both the snapper and the clam broth.  My alternative is Pineapple, Kiwi, Strawberry Passion Fruit Cup, Prime Rib of Beef, and Peach Crisp as served on MS Zaandam March 31, 2017.

A chilly day with rain overnight but at least holding off until I am back from Wegmans this morning.

Good morning everyone from a cold 32F, yet again, Boston.  Maybe I’m just getting antzy, but the warm temps of Spring are sure taking their time. Wow, I haven’t thought about crayons or a Bunsen Burner in a long time, here’s to them. Clams Casino would be nice.  I like the qoute, it makes one pause. The meal and drink suggestions sound great. I haven’t been to today’s port, it sounds so exotic.  Prayers for all on our prayer list. Happy _______ to those of you celebrating today! 🍾

Good morning Dailyites.

I have been distracted the past few days and still have not caught up with the Daily. I see Roy is posting. Hoping you are getting stronger each day Roy.

Well I woke up yesterday to a fever and cold. I had so many things to accomplish and no energy to do it.

Our luggage arrived yesterday as promised from luggageforward. One of our bags was smashed and looks like it fell in a mud puddle. I'm going to go through the bags once again with a fine tooth comb to find a pair of earrings I hid somewhere..

Prayers lifted for our Daily friends.

Happy Friday, Daily friends.

WIndy and warm (71) to start the morning, and a high of 80.  I do like the sound of the wind!  Makes me wish I was on a ship balcony hearing the wind and waves.

Thanks to all our Daily contributors!  You are the best.  Prayers for those in need. And smiles and cheers for those with celebrations.

PS @seagarsmoker, that story is hilarious!

@Seasick Sailor, I hope you get well soon.

Thank you for our last March Report & Daily, Sandi! How can that be?Rich, thank you for setting things up so we can continue while you are enjoying your cruise.

It is slightly warmer this morning, and there is a lovely pale Orange sherbet tint to the Eastern sky.

Vanessa, thank you for scouring our posts and capturing & sharing all important events.   A busy day for me. Off to the gym, selecting & scheduling my gas fireplace replacement, yard work, Bindi walks and getting everything ready for dinner with my friends tonight.

Mudbrick Vineyard Waiheke Island Velvet 2020

Another elusive New Zealand wine! This one is calling my name. I love a great red blend. I found one review, but none of the online distributors ship to me. It is also outside of my price range, but I’d love a taste. If you live in New Zealand online distributor prices start at $90.88 + shipping.

Cameron Douglas’ review

Aromas of dark berries and cassis, dark chocolate baked green bell-pepper, hay and baking spices, Doris plum and iron filings. Complex, very youthful and compelling. Full-bodied, a velvet texture with myriad tannins and back bone of acidity. Inky flavours paint the palate with flavours of dark berries and toasy barrel spices. A totally delicious wine with a complex and lengthy finish. Please pop this wine into your cellar and leave it there till 2026 then try again. best drinking likely from 2028 through 2040+.

Joy, I'm sad to hear you are under the weather.  A fever and a cold sounds pretty miserable and I can understand no energy.  I hope you are feeling much, much better quckly!

Oh my, I've heard quite a few people getting luggage back damaged or totally destroyed from these services.  What's going on?  We used them before and after our grand voyage with no problems damage wise.  I hope you can arrange compensation with no delays from anyone.

@seagarsmoker I meant to tell you this the other day but your suite looked lovely on your last cruise.  To me it looks like the type of accommodations the Captain would have.  I saw part of the Captain's quarters on the Prinsendam and it was a lot like yours, only the bedroom was separate and closed off from the living room, dining room, etc.  Strange how you couldn't get the cookies to halt when you requested that.  I hate to waste food!

Good morning,

Today will be even windier than yesterday with gusts over 50 mph!  Unfortunately I have several appointments today and I will be holding on for dear life. I have been knocked down before in a big gust.

Crayons are my life now as the kids like to color. I bought a box of 128 in hopes they would not fight over the same color. As expected that did not work.

I am all packed up for my trip to Tucson. This is unusual for me but the next two days are very busy for me.

Prayers for those on the care list. My heart goes out to those who are caring for loved ones.

Have a great day!

Good morning from a chilly NY.  I used to loved clams oreganata and got them all the time at a neighborhood restaurant . I used a Bunsen burner in college  and used crayons when the DGC were little. We are having the salmon and strawberry basil sauce tonight as requested by the Executive Chef.

@Seasick Sailor, Joy, I am sorry you are sick and hope it passes quickly. Did you enjoy the cruise?

@JazzyV, Vanessa, how are you feeling regarding the joint pain? I hope things have calmed down.

We are heading out for another appointment today for DH. This time DD is able to help Tana while I am gone.My cousin offered  but I wanted him to get proper sleep. His entire precinct has been notified to be on call,so to speak.

Have a great day everyone.

Thanks for our TGIF Daily, Sandi.

Interesting collection of days.  I’ll take all the clams on the half shell that everyone doesn’t want.  You can all have my crayons and bunsen burner 😘

I’m not sure that quote is true all the time.  I’d like to think everyone gets something out of life.  March came in like a lion and it looks like it is going out like one. ‘sigh’.  😞

@seagarsmokerOh my heavens on your oatmeal cookie story.  Too funny - even though I’m sure it was frustrating.

@Seasick Sailor Joy, happy to hear from you but I’m so sorry to hear about your harsh return from cruising with your cold and damaged luggage.  I hope you can feel better fast and break that fever 🤞

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a toast 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Bunsen burners are OK in their place, which is the chem lab. Clams are OK in their place, which is the beach. As a Hebrew-school principal I always tried to get the primary grades to use crayons, which are cheap and relatively non-destructive, instead of markers, which are expensive and messy, but the teachers almost always wanted markers.

Red snapper would be OK without the clam broth, but dinner tonight will be salmon, baked potato, and asparagus. Will skip the drink and don't know what the wine is. Haven't been to Robinson Crusoe Island or any part of Chile, but it's chilly in the house this morning.

Good morning from a very windy and cloudy central Texas.  It is currently 71F and heading to a high of 84 before dropping 54 overnight.

The last time I used a Bunsen burner was in a chemistry class in college.  Clams casino would be a nice appetizer, but I haven't seen the dish on a menu in decades.  It's been a long time since we had crayons in the house.

As far as the quote is concerned, I think we can get something from life as we're adding to life.

The red snapper without the broth might be nice, but we'll pass on the drink.  The wine sounds nice, but unattainable.

We have not been to Robinson Crusoe Island, so I'm looking forward to seeing any pictures someone wants to share.

@Crazy For Cats   Jake, congratulations for getting a good deal on your big birthday cruise.

@StLouisCruisers  Sandi, I hope the gutter replacement will solve your leak problem.

@seagarsmoker  An interesting, but probably frustrating story about the milk and cookies.

@RedneckBob  RNB, we also liked the fried clams at Howard Johnson restaurants, but added one of their 28 flavors of ice cream for dessert.  I usually got the Fudge Ripple.

@Seasick Sailor  Joy, I'm sorry you are sick and hope it's just a cold and you are well soon.  Yikes 😱 on the damaged suitcase.

@cruising sister  Lorraine, be careful in that wind.

@smitty34877  Terry, I'm glad your DD can relieve your cousin today.

Good Morning from a cool day at the beach

Suppose to warm up later. Probably not even cool for most of you.

Love brand new crayons. Always keep some fresh ones for  my little visitors.  Todays port is on our scheduled trip in the fall. Hope someone has pictures.

Today is my sons birthday.  I had a birthday dinner for him last weekend. Today the plan was for me to meet a few of his friends for golf after work. Well now it is  quite a group  then we will all go to the clubhouse for dinner. It will be fun. DH and DD will meet us there.

Hope everyone is doing ok. I keep all of you in my prayers.

 Stay safe and enjoy today

     Charlene
