Which major cruise lines depart from a Caribbean island?

Hello. I was thinking of taking Windstar from Barbados but I think I’m outpriced. Are there any major cruise lines that leave from any Caribbean island? Thanks

You will find cruises from Barbados and San Juan.

Go to cruisetimetables.com and click on the "Cruises From" tab. You'll see a quite comprehensive list of ports where cruises depart, but not a lot of them in the Caribbean. Bridgetown Barbados is primarily used by small ship luxury cruise lines and by European-based cruise lines that cater to European clients. The only Caribbean port that has a significant choice of mass market cruises catering primarily to US and Canadian passengers is San Juan Puerto Rico, where NCL and Royal Caribbean have regular departures, particularly in the winter months.

Celebrity from San Juan, PR I believe

MSC and Costa have cruises that depart from several Caribbean islands…Martinique, Guadeloupe…and never call at a US port.  Also Do I I an Republic, Jamaica, Aruba….lines you probably haven’t heard of, and speak German…EM

In 1994 I cruised from San Juan on a Carnival ship.

For the majors as you asked San Juan will be the place that most have sailings from to take in the southern carribean.

We're booked on a southern Caribbean itinerary out of San Juan on Celebrity for 2025. We sailed a similar itinerary on Carnival.

There are also a few lines that have departures from St Maarten (i.e. MSC, Windstar, etc).

Having been there, I found it fascinating.  But I restrict use of the term “love” for places which are not so screamingly uncomfortable.
