History&Wine Posted June 15, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2023 The beds seem smaller and higher than I remember. I want to say they used to be described as "king or two singles" and are now "queen or two twins". Just an observation; as long as the bed(s) are comfortable I care not. Higher might be better...I do remember some of my luggage would not fit under the old beds.

I just looked at the 2022 Crystal Atlas and they do describe the beds as either two twin beds or one queen bed. I had to second guess myself as well as they seemed to be highlighted more on this and something else I looked at awhile back (maybe from the web site or somewhere else) as queen beds so it made me wonder what were they before. 🤣 I'm looking at the photos in the Atlas and I think the height is the same although there are a couple of photos where it looks higher now but I think that has to do with the angle of the photograph plus what portion of the bed they are showing. I do like high for the reason you like though which is to make it easier to get those large pieces under the bed. 😀 Keith
Texas Tillie Posted June 15, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2023 As to beds, they haven't said that they are replacing all mattresses, have they? We are to expect new sheets and towels, or was I dreaming on that? Patty
ctjon Posted June 15, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2023 As long back as I remember they were always queens or 2 twins - wish they had been king size but they weren't
Txcotn Posted June 15, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2023 Whatever the queen size is, it feels almost as wide as our king at home......
skybluewaters Posted June 15, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 15, 2023 The ocean vessels' beds were queen, the river cruise boats' beds were king.
Txcotn Posted June 15, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2023 I hear you but the ships' queens are wider (maybe not longer) than land based queens. We didn't bump bums so to speak.
Rare FlyerTalker Posted June 15, 2023 #9 Share Posted June 15, 2023 Interesting how Trident seats 16 on Symphony and 119 on Serenity.
Txcotn Posted June 16, 2023 #10 Share Posted June 16, 2023 How weird! I'll bet they only counted the few tables right in the actual grill area on Symphony.
happy cruising Posted June 16, 2023 #11 Share Posted June 16, 2023 The Serenity brochure shows 2 lauderettes on deck 7 ... I wonder if that is an error....
oakridger Posted June 16, 2023 #12 Share Posted June 16, 2023 (edited) Symphony shows Jade Night Club and Pulse Night Club on Serenity where casino was. Am I remembering correctly? Has this been discussed since the announcement of the demise of casinos? It will be interesting to see how these Clubs are actually utilized. ~Nancy Edited June 16, 2023 by oakridger

We were in PHS and so disappointed. Sure hope towels are new and upgraded. If I remember from 20+ years ago they were Frette?

The Jade Nightclub on Symphony takes the place of the high rollers section of the casino, which also had a bar in it. I believe it was, pre-Genting, some sort of bar/nightclub area originally. Both ships main public casinos are still unlabeled and don't seem to have a set purpose yet.

On Symphony the former room was called Luxe. They previously mentioned that the former areas will be used for guests to relax in. Keith

They did say linens were being replaced in all rooms. Keith
Rare travelberlin Posted June 16, 2023 #17 Share Posted June 16, 2023 For the single rooms in the Serenity, it says “cozy”. Any idea what this means for those rooms? It will be great to have a comparison to the other guests rooms with window on deck 7 in the Serenity. Ivi

Ivi The funniest part is it’s called “cozy” when it’s listed as the single, but not when the same size stateroom is listed as a double.

Maybe because the solo traveler will feel far more comfortable in the 215 sf room than two people will? 😉 It's a bit of a moot point for me because I don't plan to spend too much time in my room! Possibly because with two you don't need the room to get cozy. 🥰 But with one that room will make you feel cozy. 😍 Keith 1
