Ah so this is the other part of the change of roll of the Captains Club host position.  When one told me that their duties were being shifted to the future cruise sales department she mentioned that she could either shift to that department (as a contractor, nolonger a Princess employee) or she would end up as a special events coordinator.  Looks like this is what she was talking about.  Going from Captains Club coordinator to wedding coordinator.

The vow renewal is also more than doubled in price from before, but looks like it includes more, depending on "State room goodies"

Yes, I was disappointed when I first saw the price increase but I'm now thinking it might still be reasonable value. We're considering this for a cruise in September 2024 so hopefully we will find out more about the inclusions before then. 😊

Those prices are very reasonable when you compare them to what couples are spending for weddings on land.

I don't know what my wedding cost but it was extremely low budget. Since we've been married for 51 years now it seems that the "extravagance" of a wedding really has no bearing on the outcome. I will never understand people who need to spend a fortune (or have someone else spend a fortune) for a wedding. The cost of wedding dresses appalls me.

Now I understand why I met Randy Fenoli on the Discovery Cabo cruise last April! He told me that he had been asked to be one of the christening honorees at the end of our cruise and he had never been on a Princess cruise, and needed to experience one! He was super friendly. I had never watched any of his tv shows until after I came home. He does alot of requests for Make A Wish. His dresses can cost more than the wedding package Princess is selling! Why would he have been on a Princess Cruise when he can afford a private yacht and privacy away from all the fans that recognize him.

I am wondering when the Alex Guarnaschelli promo will hit as she participated in the christening too!

I guess we come from the old school. Put the money into a house or pay for your future, as many of the marriages don't last that many days.

We are celebrating our 61st wedding anniversary. Yes, I did say 61st on the Enchanted Princess on a 21 day  cruise in the Mediterranean.

Like others have said, the price is outrageous.

We are taking a 6 day RCI Cruise SYMPHONY OTS Central Park Balcony for 2 at $1,400 price. Again, $1,400 total price for both of us. That is the truth

Happy Cruising!

Having been a "Princess Bride" in 2004, I am amazed that the prices are as low as they are. I know the cost of our package, and honestly, after almost 20 years, that represents a very small increase in pricing. As far as vow renewal, I still think the pricing is in line with historical costs v. inflation, and itis totally up to couple if they want to take advantage of that service or not.

When one considers the cost of a land based wedding, the onboard cost is pretty reasonable.

Not flaming you.

If you consider this a valid price, what do you consider the price of a cruise on RCI Symphony OTS 6 day Central Park Balcony for 2 people at $1,367? I agree that only includes a balcony cabin for 2, dining for 2, shows\entertainment, ports, and since we are Diamond Plus 5 drinks each day for both of us.

What am I missing?

TIA

HAPPY CRUISING!

You are missing the whole point of this thread. This about the Wedding at Sea pricing, not the cost of the cruise fare. The Wedding at Sea is separate from any cruise fare that Princess might charge, depending upon ship, itiinerary, cabin class, length of cruise....et al. Happy Anniversary, but your cruise booking does not include the Renewal of Vows that Princess is offering, and if you are not interested in that sort of thing, that is fine, your choice. Some cruisers might be. That would be their choice.

I am referring to the cost of our wedding almost 20 years, on board a Princess ship, and the cost of the wedding package at that time. The price increase is rather modest by comparison.

I did not miss the point! My point is how can Princess justify a price for a wedding, pictures, meal, Bridge tour and charge so much?

You are talking about x number of hours for an event and comparing that to 6 days of Cruising.

This is an example of people getting in over their head then filing for chapter 11.

You expressed your opinion and justification.

I expressed my opinion and justification

You spend your money as you like.

Happy Cruising!

Though they used to charge $300 for renewal of vows. What justifies the huge increase?

It's justified by Princess' belief that people will pay that much.  Time will tell if they're right.

I think they are throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks..... Financially they are desperate also.

When a good friend got married they did it on a hill overlooking the valley. My wife and I were the guests and witnesses and another friend performed the service. (He paid $1 in the early 70's to the Universal Life Church and is legally ordained so the wedding is legal.) No fuss, no muss, no cost. They've been married for about 30 years now.
