Even though it allowed me to purchase for just 1 guest, is it better to add the other one too so that the cabin is plying by the rules of every drining age pax having it? If they honor the price, would they cancel it anyway because not everyone got Cheers?

Other pax doesn't drink alcohol or coffee and is a Coke person, not Pepsi, so she really won't use it. But I'd rather her have it if it means I can keep mine.

Sure don't want to pay full price for something she won't use and would not buy it at full price.

Any idea if they'd give us the option to pay the difference before automatically charging it if/when they catch it?

I would have added it for everyone in the cabin. I dont hardly drink but for $70 I'm paying to get coffee every morning, maybe a few cokes. It will probably be cancelled. Apparently john heald is already talking to the boards. It will be most likely shut down soon to book.

We tried to snag 4 of these last night for our upcoming cruises when we saw the chatter about it on MySpace 2.0 (aka the website that shall not be named lest you incur the wrath of the mods).  Our situation is a bit tricky because our next 4 cruises were booked under a casino deal with free Drinks on Us everywhere on the ship for her. So when we purchased Cheers last night we only booked it for 1 person for me but didn't realize until just now that they are all booked under her name. So if this sticks, it may be difficult or impossible to get it transferred to me once we are on board. Oh well, worst case scenario is they refund the money and we just book cheers at market rate later on.

My cruise is 8 days out and I was just going to purchase the Cheers and Wifi but it seems I don't even have the option now. Is everyone else logged out of this now? Do you think this has to do with this glitch?

Yes. Once they get it fixed it will show up again. Check back later. 😎

John Heald was made aware so most assuredly someone in corporate was notified and they’ve pulled the items until the issue can be corrected.

Royal Caribbean offered something for $89.99 a few months ago that doesn’t even exist and would have been impossible to produce anyway. I booked it for two cruises to see what happened. It was canceled and $50 OBC was given for each booking. Plus quick refunds of the $89.99.

Most people are saying they will cancel and refund OR charge the correct amount.

Is Carnival allowed to just process your credit card without your consent?

No lol

😝plus I used a gift card. That gift card doesn’t even have the full amount on it.

Most people dont seem to know much about what is allowed. Carnival cant charge without your consent. We might not know until monday what if anything they will do. My guess is cancel and refund. It would be a hassle onboard if only one in a cabin had it. That probably wouldnt fly so even for those of us solo without anyone else in the cabin ..  my bet is cancel and refund.

I wished later I'd done the rcl glitch, extra $50 obc when they cancelled it the following week.

we got it for everyone in the cabin last night. We have never purchased it before. I have always wanted to try the different drinks but couldn't see spending $1800 for us to try different things. I also can't see spending $15 for a drink that I might not like. The glitch was letting you purchase it for the price of 1 day instead of the cruise length. Would be awesome if they let the one day stand. So we could try all the things and see if we liked them or not. Would let people that are on the fence about getting it see if its worth to them. It might just get more sales in the long run. Either way if they cancel it on us, its no big loss and if we get to keep it then its a win. I just hope they don't be like, we are canceling and you will receive a refund in 27 business days. lol

Royal also had a drink package glitch a few years back that was even more drastic than this one. People were getting it for under $20. And they honored it. Glitches happen all of the time. Like when that airline had $10 fares to Hawaii some years ago. Every ticket was honored. Good catch sometimes if you're lucky! lol

I remember that!  I missed that one, too, but I remember it. Most of the cruises with that deal were canceled due to Covid, but there were some that were enjoyed.

I bought 2 of those packages (one for me and one for my husband since I wasn't sure if one package would cover us both) and I ended up getting $100 OBC.  I thought that was pretty nice of them since they could've just refunded the money and left it at that.  I did take advantage of the Cheers glitch, even though I expect it to be cancelled.  But on the off chance that it doesn't, great!  You never really know if they're going to honor a glitch or not, so IMO it doesn't hurt to try.

I used OBC on some cruises. If they want to give me enough OBC to cover full price, I won't complain.

We purchased this for two cruises. No idea what they’ll do, fine either way but would be great if they honor it.
One question, it has my husbands name for both packages on one cruise and my name for both packages on the second cruise. Guessing this is just part of the glitch as well?

The drink package is now available for purchase on the website for the correct amount.  Our reduced price drink package is still showing on our cruise manager page.  Hoping they will honor it but will be buying it regardless of price.  Just read that John Heald states all orders will be cancelled, refunds given as well as a one time promo code discount.
