Good morning.  Thanks for the Report.  Happy Friday!

Another cool morning.  A nice clear sky, lots of stars.  I looked for the new comet but didn't see it.

Interesting days.  I won't make a hat.  Greenpeace does good work.  A big thank you to all caregivers out there.

I like the quote.

The meal sounds good, thanks in advance for recipes.  The drink sounds tasty too.  Hope the wine is good.

I've never been to today's port.

Prayers for everyone.

Have a good day.  Stay safe.

Good morning friends!  It's 68F and we will have cloudy skies today with a 60% chance of rain and a high of only 76.  Yesterday afternoon we had a heavy storm pass through but I don't know how much rain it dropped.⛈️

Thank you Rich @richwmn for your Fleet Report and Daily for this Friday, Sept. 15.  I hope all will enjoy celebrating Make a Hat Day, Greenpeace Day, and National Caregiver Day.  The last one is extremely important and many of you here have found that out personally.  Thanks to Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for their food and beverage reports today.  Prayers for our Care list people, especially Lou, Terry @smitty34877, Tana and family, Baby Murphy, Chuck @catmando and Annie @marshhawk, and all who are ill, hurting or injured.  Prayers of course for my DB and friend's DB Mark.  Hoping for relief and rebuilding for the people of Maui and the Ukraine.  Good luck and prayers offered for Gerry @ger_77's DH as he gets his pacemaker today!  Congrats to our Celebration list folks.  Enjoy your cruises, travels, family get togethers, birthdays and anniversaries!  Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for taking such good care of our lists!

The port today is Lautoka, Fiji.  We had it once before on Feb. 11, 2022 so I will provide the link for you.  I have not been to Lautoka so I have no photos.  Thanks in advance for any photos posted today.

I managed to finish another 7 pages of my last cruise's photo book yesterday even though DH needed my old laptop to move photos and I was unable to work on the book during that time period.  This morning I go in for my dental hygienist appointment and will stop at the grocery store so there goes my entire morning!  I hope everyone here has a good day and start to their weekend.

Happy Friday.  Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie.  @Lady Hudson enjoy you're island visit today..  I'll pass on making a hat but celebrate caregivers and Greenpeace.  I've been to Lautoka at least twice, always on Crystal.

This would have been a sad day in Spain back in 1821.

I like the Lin quote but will pass on the chowder.

Off soon to Wegmans.

Thanks for our Friday Daily, Rich

and thank you to Vanessa, Ann, Dixie & Debbie.

Interesting combination of days.  I’ll celebrate Greenpeace day & Caregivers every day.  that quote is quite true.  Seafood chowder sounds like a very good plan to me 👍

Apologies - I had quotes done to multi quote yesterday and just ran out of time and energy.  @ger_77 best wishes for your DH’s procedure today 🙏 @luvteaching so glad you enjoyed your cruise.  Teary moments come and can’t be helped but it sounds like you still had wonderful moments 👍

I can’t say TGIF today since Lee comes later tonight.  We are being warned big time.  I was busy trying to get things done as much as possible.

Had to tie up the big planters - not enough time to empty them all and it takes 2 to lift the biggest ones.  they are going this year once they are emptied.  All the hanging baskets and smaller containers are emptied and put away though.

my neighbour is coming over to help take down the umbrellas and that’s it - or as good as it can get.

Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, health issue, worries & those that need them.  Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.

Good Morning, thanks for the daily fleet report.  DM is getting discharged from the rehab facility on Sunday.  When she was first admitted it was a four week rehab plan.  DS will help her on Sunday and get her fridge restocked.  DM says that her caregivers have taken really good care of her.

Today is a shortened work day.  I’m taking Zander and Ashlee to the vet for their annual check up.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning. It is only 59 degrees with a fair amount of wind.It looks like my family members in New Bedford and Fall River Massachusetts will get visited by Lee .Our area will get rain and wind later. My DS and family are driving down from New Hampshire later today and I hope their drive is uneventful.Yesterday DH was able to enjoy a visit with my DB and DSIL. My DSIL made dinner for the group which was much appreciated.

I was glad to see that Roy @rafinmd is now negative and feeling better.

Bon Voyage to @ cruising-along!

@kazu,Jacqui,I hope you and Ivan stay safe today.

And prayers for a successful procedure for  Maurice today @ger_77.

Be careful today everyone.

Happy Friday everyone. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet report.

It was cold when I took Fancy out this morning. Temperatures in the low 50s. A wonderful change from the heat over the past weeks. This is my kind of weather.

Appointment with the chiropractor then several work meetings which will be done at home.

Looks like it will be a great weekend to get to a garden center and get my pumpkins and fall plants.

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Stay safe to all who may be in the path of Lee.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Thank you for today’s R & D, Rich! Bindi and I had a lovely walk this morning. Lots of wildlife encounters - mostly deer, but a fox and a possum, too. @ger_77 Gerry, praying that all goes well for Maurice today.

Vanessa thank you for sharing all our happenings. Gym, Bindi walks, chores and some prep for tomorrow evening. I am having a group back to my place after our local wine bar’s tasting. This month they are highlighting Northern Italian wines.  Yesterday’s ice cream celebration was a hit. The portions are a bit smaller, but that is probably for the better. The ice cream is still scrumptious.

Prayers for all who need our support. @smitty34877 Terry, so glad Lou is home. Today is your day & the host of other Dailyites who are caregivers.

Cheers to all who are celebrating.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Henschke - Henry's Seven Barossa Gsm Blend 2021

This Australian GSM has lots of consumer & critic fans who give it an excellent rating. The blend is a bit different from the other GSMs I have enjoyed, but it sounds lovely. A decent number of online distributors with prices starting at $41.55.

Winemaker Notes

Deep garnet with violet hues. A striking bouquet of ripe plum, raspberry, blueberry and notes of blackberry intertwine with savory notes of cracked black pepper, flowering herbs, fresh tarragon and bay leaf. Dark plum, berry compote, rhubarb and raspberry flavors lead to a peppery mid-palate of vibrant red berry acidity and fine-grained tannins, finishing with lingering flavors of mulberry and black pepper.  Blend: 72% Shiraz, 13% Grenache, 12% Mataro, 3% Viognier

JS95 James Suckling

Aromas of black fruit and green tobacco with bark and wet-earth undertones, following through to a medium to full body, creamy tannins and a juicy, savory finish. Intense and balanced.
RP90 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2021 Henry's Seven has a purity to the expression of blackberry fruit in the mouth—it is vibrant and luminescent and succulent. There are notes of tobacco leaf, raspberry leaf tea, bramble, aniseed and a crack of pink peppercorns. The fruit doesn't persist as I hoped it would through the finish, but the flavors are so lovely it hardly matters.

Good Friday morning to all.

Thank you Rich for the Fleet Report and Daily.  Thank you Vanessa for taking care of our lists so carefully.  And thank you for including me while I go through another flare-up of PMR.  Hopefully I will get this under control quickly.

Thank you to Debbie, Ann and Dixie in the Food and Beverage department.  Frothy seafood chowder sounds lovely.  Don’t think I will partake of the drink, but the wine may be a possibility.

Yesterday was a crazy day. I made reservations for two beach clubs for our cruise in February.  However, I reserved the beach club in Cozumel for the day in Costa Maya and the Beach Club in Costa Maya for the Day in Cozumel. When I realized my mistake, I then had to contact the establishments and straighten out the mess.  I managed to get one fixed but have not yet heard from the other.  However, I have not given the second one any money.  Thankfully!  Hopefully this will get straightened out today.

I have another appointment today with the optometrist.  Despite having had cataract surgery, I need to wear contacts or glasses.  While the glasses I have are adequate, the contacts are not.  So I have an appointment for a new fitting today.  While I don’t wear them everyday, I do like to wear them for various occasions.  Prior to having cataract surgery I wore contacts for about 35 years.  I was very nearsighted and it was the best solution.  When I first had the surgery I had 20/25 vision, but it gradually deteriorated to the point that I need corrective lenses of some sort.

i hope to get some of the things done today that I thought I was going to do yesterday.

@kazu I hope that Hurricane Lee does not cause too much damage.  Please stay safe.

@smitty34877 I am happy that Lou had a good visit yesterday and that your family will come today.  I am sure that Lou is content to be home and more comfortable.

@mamaofami prayers for Sam and for you and your family.

@ger_77 I hope that your DH’s procedure for getting a pacemaker goes well today.

As always, prayers for Baby Murphy,

And prayers for all of you.

Cheers to all celebrating and cruising.  Enjoy.

And a HAPPY NEW YEAR to our friends of the Jewish Faith.

Have a great day everyone.

God Bless,

Terri

Good morning everyone. Sam is in the hospital waiting for a type of brain surgery called an embolization. It keeps being postponed because of other emergency surgeries the vascular neurologists have between two hospitals. My son who works in the hospital has texted the chief medical officer to get the situation resolved. He’s in a great hospital in Philly. We are all anxiously waiting.

Good morning everyone.   I am thinking of you Jacqui @kazu as you prepare for Hurricane Lee,  I hope it is a false alarm but your preparations look good so far.

@mamaofami Prayers for Sam this morning.

I have to run this morning.  I have a hair appointment at 10 and have to drop off our no longer needed AT&T wifi modem first.   Then nails, then Walmart.

I am really glad I did not sign up for the YouTube NFL season.  Last night we couldn't watch John's favorite team, the Vikings, because the Amazon Prime signal was so poor.   I am afraid so many people are using the mini Starlink dishes that there isn't enough bandwith for a decent signal.   I guess we will go to the casino to watch the Ravens on Sunday.  Did anyone else try to watch that game on Prime and have any steaming issues?

Have a great Friday!  Nancy

Good morning, everyone!

It is another chilly morning here in mid-Michigan, but it is supposed to warm up nicely this afternoon.  @ger_77 I hope all goes well with your DH this morning for his procedure.  @mamaofami thank you for the update on Sam.  Hopefully, he'll get the surgery soon.  @Cruising-along Bon Voyage and enjoy your cruise!  @smitty34877 I'm glad Lou had a good visit with your DB and DSIL.  It was an added bonus that DSIL made dinner!  @kazu Stay safe from the storm.  It looks like you've done all you can in preparation.

Today's meal is one I would make on a cool autumn day.  It sounds wonderful.  With a crusty loaf of bread for dipping, it would be heaven.  The recipe comes from Bon Appetit, a pay sight.  I don't have a subscription and I'm out of free recipes on the site for now.  I just get the notice that the kitchen is closed to me.  But, I did find it on another site that doesn't charge me.  https://pacificwest.com.au/recipe/brothy-seafood-chowder/

brothyseafoodchowder.thumb.jpg.c044fac3150fbaa20a8dcfcba716ca71.jpg

I could eat that now!   Here's a version from Ina Garten that you can make creamy or leave brothy.  https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/seafood-chowder-recipe-1925488

brothyseafoodchowder2.jpeg.21ef6f472ef6c2bd79f7d7fd2ce326ba.jpeg

Here is a recipe for a Manhattan fish chowder.  It calls for white fish, but you can easily add in some shrimp or other seafood to make it a seafood chowder.  https://www.curiouscuisiniere.com/manhattan-fish-chowder/

I hope all remain safe from Hurricane Lee and that it doesn’t impact those who are cruising.

Be aware of your thoughts.  It's the only thing that we can really control in our lives.  It is hard to make a shift initially to think in a positive way most of the time. Our reality is a reflection of our internal thoughts and world.  You can control your mind and eyes to see the best in everything or the worst.

Sending you peace, healing and all good wishes.  May your life be good.
