Princess policy on children in cocktail Lounges?

Children of any age can order a drink at any bar - as long as the drink is non-alcoholic. Where else do you think they would be able to order a drink other than at mealtime? Princess will sell the Zero-Alcohol Drink Package or the Classic Soda Package to people of any age. Both of these packages explicitly include mocktails.

I believe a child has as much right to order a drink (non-alcoholic) at a bar as I do to order a drink there.

They just can't sit at the bar.

Well, I guess I could ask the bartenders for it in writing, but I'm not that guest. 😉

Kids certainly are allowed in lounges, etc. and mine has sat comfortably at the bar and sipped a Shirley Temple. There is no such edict about kids not welcome in those areas.

One the kid falls off the barstool and parents sue Princess

Two Parents have to explain some adult words and topics to kiddo.
Bars should be for adults. We don’t ask to hang out in the kids club with the 17 year olds

I've heard more vulgarity at the ship's pools than at any of the lounges  - so that argument isn't persuasive. Your "falling off the stool" argument is hilarious as there are greater dangers to kids on any ship than a bar stool.

So when you hang out at the bar with your kid and I want to talk about sexual conquests you are ok with that ?
They can sit at a table, go up to the bar to get a soda but please don’t let them hang out at the bar itself taking up drinkers spaces

From what I have seen those that need to carry on such conversations are just as likely to do so sitting at a table as they are sitting at the bar. Though there are some that feel the need to impress the bartender with whatever figment of their imagination they can come up with.

As many others have stated Yes, your grandchildren can join you in the lounges. There is no restriction there. I'm not sure if they aren't allowed or just not recommended to sit at the bar itself. Otherwise they are not allowed in the casino (unless just passing through) and unless something has changed not allowed in the nightclub venue when it turns into a night club.

You are absolutely correct, it just reinforces my thought that I would rather be seated next to a child than an obnoxious drunk relating false tales about his sexual conquests.

Man, y’all are on a different Princess ship than I am. Or else I’m going to sleep before the party really gets started.

I was thinking the same thing but I am usually up late when the party should be going on!  LOL

I have never heard anyone sitting at Crooners cursing and discussing their conquests but maybe I just don't pay enough attention!

Since you’re already staying up late, take one for the team and keep notes to come back and share. I suggest this notebook.

I don’t care to listen to the tales even if they’re true.  I don’t enjoy drunks.  But maybe I’ve been lucky because I haven’t encountered any on 2 Princess cruises to date. Just ladies and gentlemen. And maybe that’s what I like even more than the ships, the crew, the activities and facilities.  I think I like Princess passengers. Because boy, can the wrong passengers ruin a cruise for everyone else!

Since I've don't tend to judge anyone, I'll just have to sit and drink the wine!!!

First: The question was about lounges, which I interpret to be the Wheelhouse, Crooners, etc. The answer to that question is not in doubt.  Children are allowed in those venues to listen to music and drink the soft drinks that are included in whatever Package they may have.

Second:  The statement quoted above is not true, at least not true categorically.  Many children have beverage packages.  When my daughter was a minor, she always had the Soda and More Package complete with the reusable plastic cup.  Children can go to any bar, walk up or sit, and ask the bartender to fill their cup with a non-alcoholic beverage that comes with their package.  They (or their parent) has paid for that privilege.  I've never seen a bartender at the Mermaid's Tail at 2:00 p.m. say: "Here you go.  But you have to leave.  You can't drink that here."  I know of no such rule.  Now, would the result be the same at the Wheelhouse Bar at 11:00 p.m.?  I don't know.  In this latter scenario, I would think that common sense would prevail over rules. My minor child would not be hanging out on a Wheelhouse Bar barstool at 11:00 p.m. but not because the ship says so.
