Alifay Posted January 7 #1 Share Posted January 7 Hello! I am wanting to get some fold flat cloth boxes from Dollar Tree for the shelves in the closet on the Grand Princess. Can anyone on board measure the shelf/cubbies ? Does anyone know where to find the measurements ?! Thanks!
riffatsea Posted January 7 #2 Share Posted January 7 I can't imagine bringing boxes on board I suppose there's someone who will measure for you

kiwimum Posted January 7 #4 Share Posted January 7 The Grand has the smallest width and height shelves in the cupboard. Nothing at all like other ships. We upgraded from an Oceanview to Balcony once onboard due to the closet, shelf space and bathroom. Smallest storage we have ever encountered. If it makes a difference, we will be in a balcony

1412p0oi Posted January 7 #7 Share Posted January 7 There’s no need to be so rude and snarky. You can also contact a Princess agent by phone or via chat and find out about this right away without wasting time waiting for an answer here. The agents are quite helpful and prompt in replying. 1

I didn’t know those closets were that small. Learn something everyday. Thanks
Rare karatemom2 Posted January 7 #9 Share Posted January 7 The closets on the Grand are very small - a reduced version of the standard Princess closets. (See photo). If you Google “Grand Princess closets” you will find many images online. It won’t give you exact measurements, but should provide a good idea of the space. Thrak Posted January 8 #12 Share Posted January 8 We sailed 63 days on Grand Princess and, while the closet was quite small, we did just fine. Having free laundry helps.

I always bring at least 4 on our trips... on our Viking River Cruise in May I had one in the bathroom, one on the desk for paper info, one in the bedside stand, and one in a clothes drawer plus I gave one to husband for some things in the closet and wished I had brought more to keep things organized. So I think you are smart in bringing some
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted July 10 #14 Share Posted July 10 Packing cubes work well for the cubby. Just fold back the top and insert. I pack a soda flat for the shelf above the closet. I'm vertically challenged and always worry that something will get pushed aside.

I can see how that would be helpful.

I don’t know if there is a technical term…but you got the message!!! Congrats. Yes, but not sure if they are around any longer. Big Box stores are my friendly go to for boxes now. I find them a really good way for me to pack my luggage too.
paddingtonbear Posted July 10 #17 Share Posted July 10 (edited) I read somewhere (or saw on youtube) someone suggested hanging storage like these. They are easy to pack and you can put lost of little things in the "shoe" one and not lose them because they are see through. (socks, beanies, sunglasses etc) If these are what you meant by "fold flat cloth boxes from Dollar Tree" then ignore this post! I am so sick of all hanging in the closets. Rare JamieLogical Posted July 10 #18 Share Posted July 10 I bought four of these at the Dollar Tree years ago and they have been on 20+ cruises with me. Best $4 I ever spent! They fold completely flat so they take up zero room in my suitcase and they make great "drawers" for underwear, socks, bras, etc.
