Diamond drink coupon's ?

Recommended Posts

Elite on Celebrity will be diamond on Royal. 4 vouchers per passenger that has the status. Cabin mates do not share status. However, you should be able to link your wife to your account, and she will now have the same status as you.

Hubby and I took our first Diamond cruise 1/29/22. We both received 4 drinks/each on our cards.  We never used them all.  Hubby always called me a cheap date because I am mostly 1-2 drinks.  Never had wine on this last cruise together on Symphony.

Took a Canada/New England trip in October,2023 and my friend did not share in the voucher perk.

Call the CAS at 1-800-526-9723 to verify her tier level.

I don't know if X awards the 4 drink voucher to Elite.  The last time I looked at the Elite benefits, it was free drinks in the Elite lounge between 5-7 PM.

Celebrity most definitely doesn't do the "four drinks voucher" regime for Diamonds/Elites.  I am Diamond on RCI and sailed on Celebrity Solstice last month.  The 5-7pm free drinks was really frustrating.  For a few days I could get sparkling water as a "drink" then suddenly it was "no, that's not included, only still water is included.". And woe betide the Diamond/Elite who was 3min late to a bar - at 7.03pm I was charged for a bottle of still water!  I actually visited the Loyalty Desk on the last day to pass on my feedback in person.  I also pointed out that because "free drinks" were only available from bars (and not in the restaurants) I had to wander the ship, drink in hand, looking like a lush!!  The 5-7pm rule also means, too, that if you want a drink for eg lunch tomorrow, you need to stockpile and return to your cabin with your stash!  All just very silly (but necessary) I thought.

Who said anything about Celebrity? CAS is RCs Crown and Anchor Society. That's also the phone number I provided. I know exactly how Celebrity's CC HH works.

Slightly different question but in same vein - we are looking at our first ' Diamond ' trip. What if you don't use your four coupons one day. Do they carry over? Next, are they limited in time for use? Like 6p to midnight or similar? TYIA for any info.

No, they expire.  You can use them any time of day.

Follow up question - can you select which drink you apply against or is it automatically the first four alcoholic drinks? Like say I want a bloody Mary with breakfast can I pay for that one and later use it for a more expensive drink?

Tell the bartender you want to pay and not use your coupon.

Yes you can just remember to tell the. Server?bartender you do not want to use your diamond voucher. They usually ask but sometimes do not

I think you'll find that a Bloody Mary will cost the same as any other alcoholic drink you buy.

Well it's been a while since I've been on Royal without a drink package. Trying to decide if the coupons would allow me to skip the package (and save a lot of money). I tend to like expensive martini type drinks at night. I haven't gotten around to pulling drink menus yet (yes I know we just go off of Vision, but had the package so didn't pay attention to prices).

YMMV, but this is what we do...

As Diamond or above, you get 2 additional 50% off beers/wines/soda coupons as well...use those for the beers or cheaper wines first, then use the 10% off coupon for beer each account has. Yeah, you do have to tell bartender..."I want to do this"...so you are paying for beers or cheaper wine, but then use vouchers for more expensive drinks in evening. Seems to work for us, no drink package and our beer expense has been nowhere near the cost of the beverage package for 2. Probably closer to 200 for the 7 night cruise total bar bill. Some nights we were not even using all 5 and stopped and picked up unopened beers for the next day for pool or PDCC, etc.

And now that we made Prime ( drinks when casino is open), we wont ever buy a package again...(again, buy is relative term as getting to Prime was cheaper overall than a single cruise drink package...we were lucky)

I am not aware of this?

'As Diamond or above, you get 2 additional 50% off beers/wines/soda coupons as well..'

Is this something new? Is it on your Cruise Card?

TIA

This was available pre-covid, even before Royal came out with the coupons.  It's on your seapass.

It would appear the 50% off is not exclusive to Diamond.  First line item below.

The vouchers can be used to purchase any alcoholic drink with a value up to $14. If you want a drink that costs more than $14, you can use a voucher for the first $14 and then pay the difference of your more expensive drink plus 18% added to the extra cost. Most alcoholic drinks on RCI ships now cost, or are very near to, $14. So, a "regular" martini will cost $14 and you can use a voucher to purchase it. If you want a more expensive martini, you'll have to pay anything above the $14 voucher value.

They do not carry over.  However, they used to re-up @ midnight and people who liked to party late at night were unhappy that they were using the next day's vouchers while they still had some from the day before.  Now they re-up @ 5 AM.

The bartenders never mess this up, they get it. The assistant waiters in the dining rooms frequently mess it up. This comes up if you want say a cappucino or a pellegrino water and want to pay for it rather than use a voucher. They also can mess up on whose card to use. They charge both drinks to one card, leaving someone short a drink. It's not a big deal if you are spending the whole night together but sometimes people aren't.
