May I ask what time and where ( which dining room) were you able to meet with the dining room manager to secure a nice table for 2 for 40 days ?

I was able to do that precovid where there was a set time ( eg 2pm) with the maitre d in a specified dining room

Thanks.

Symphony Dining room, we left time up to him, earlier better, and have 1730.

Formal Night last night and I was over dressed with a dress shirt and tie. Next time I'll just wear my formal Aloha shirt. Shorts were the only thing turned away, think they got sent down to the Allegro Dining room.

Travel day has arrived!  I usually sleep until 7:00 am, but the anticipation woke me at 4:30 am!

We are checked into our 10:40 pm flight and are mostly packed.  Now, the big wait for our 7:00 pm pick-up and ride to LAX!

Have a safe flight! We’re driving down to San Pedro on Thursday for our cruise.

Thank you!  You guys have a great cruise and enjoy the Sanctuary!  We'll be jealous with no Sanctuary!  😒

Our trip has officially started!!!  We are checked in at LAX and we are ensconced in the United Polaris Lounge.

The Lounge has moved and has been updated since the last time we flew United.  It is spacious, modern and has lots of amenities, including a sit-down dining room (menu below).

The bar is fully stocked and has a very nice wine selection.  We are enjoying the Prisoner blend and watching the Warrior basketball game.

And, the Lounge is almost empty!

One thing I would definitely recommend in Sydney if you haven't done it before is the Harbour Bridge Climb.  It's pricey but worth it.  Be warned that they will give you a breathalyser test in advance.

Another tip:  Go for drinks at the top of the Shangri La Hotel.  It's a magnificent view of the harbour!

Thank you for the recommendations, we did the bridge climb on our last visit.

The inflight dinner was pretty good!  We had the Lemon zest prawn confit appetizer, Sautéed Cajin Shrimp with jasmine rice and tomato fondue.  Also, Mesclun leafy greens with balsamic dressing.  This was accompanied by a 2021 Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz.

And the kicker was a Tillamook Vanilla Bean sundae with hot fudge and nuts!  Where is the Elliptical machine!!!

Now it's time to sleep it off!!!

Wow!  We flew United but didn't have those options. Although, our dinner was pretty good!  Thought the seat & bed were very comfortable.  Enjoy your flight, we did!

One thing to remember in Australia:  An "entree" is an appetiser, and a "main" is....well, a main course.  🙂

And you don't have to tip.  Ever.

The Saks Fifth Avenue pillows, comforter, blanket and fully flat bed did help!  And the slippers were nice too!
