Refund of Shore Excursions question

Recommended Posts

If we book a Shore Excursion through Celebrity (Equinox) and pay in full and then change our mind prior to the sailing, do we get a refund in money or is it a Ship Board Credit.  We have a couple of very expensive Europe shore excursions we want to take but want to make sure if something happens before October we can get our money back, not just OBC.

Thanks in advance

When you book the excursion it will have the refund policy as it may vary depending on who the tour operator is. Any that we've ever cancelled have been refunded in the same form as we paid. So if we paid via CC, they refunded to our CC.

Thank you - trying to find that info through the CC website is impossible

Agree with the answers, with the caveat that there are some excursions that you cannot cancel and get any refunds at all.  They are few and far between but tend to be the more expensive ones.

If you cancel once onboard and you paid with credit card they generally refund to your seapass account as refundable OBC providing you are still within the cancellation deadline.

Agree with all the previous posters. Ours have always been refunded to the original form of payment.

If you cancel prior to 48 hours before the cruise, your refund goes back to the original form of payment.   If paid with NR Credit it goes back to NR.

From 48 pre cruise until end of cruise if you cancel withhin the 48 hour cancellation period you will get a refund back to you on board account.   If NR Credit it will go back to NR Credit.   If you paid with a credit card it will be refunded as a Refundable Credit that will go back to you credit card on file at the end of the cruise if not used.

@jelayne the answer that @Jim_Iain provided is more accurate as it is more complete.

This did not happen in my case. I purchased them with credit card, canceled while on board and it came back to my credit card.

I was just about to post this as I remember they changed this recently.
