MamaBess Posted September 13 #1 Share Posted September 13 (edited) Recently I was told that I must book a hotel in an overnight port, that we were not allowed to stay on the ship. I have never heard of this before. Is this something new, or is someone just trying to panic me? Edited September 13 by MamaBess spelling

You're going to need to give us a lot more information for us to make any informed comments. Which cruise line? Which ship? Which port? Time of year? And how is it written about this requirement (what wording)? A link, if available? GC
CruiserBruce Posted September 13 #3 Share Posted September 13 Seriously doubt you will be required to book a hotel ashore. That would be the first time I have heard of that in 30+ years of cruising. And 20+ years here on Cruise Critic.

hallasm Posted September 13 #7 Share Posted September 13 (edited) Sounds like CELEBRITY SILHOUETTE, Canada, Maine & Boston, 11 nights cruise from Boston with overnight stay i Quebec. It must be a misunderstanding. Check the Roll Call for the actual sailing. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/506-celebrity-silhouette-roll-calls/ Edited September 13 by hallasm
ldubs Posted September 13 #8 Share Posted September 13 If you were told this by someone other than the cruise line, then just ignore them.
MamaBess Posted September 14 Author #9 Share Posted September 14 Thank you all. I had never heard this before, so I was a bit shocked. No, it was not the cruise line, just a busy body trying to deflate my excitement. Hubby and I are looking forward to a longer cruise and spending two days in Quebec city. Thanks for your input, its appreciated. 3
