Which Cruise?

I am booked on a sky suite on the Beyond for March 28, 10 night southern caribbean cruise.  We love the Beyond and been on her a few times including getting off of her last week.

I am considering cancelling and choosing the Edge May 23 Seattle r/t Alaska cruise for 7 nights.

 

Which one would you choose, 10 night southern caribbean or the 7 night Edge?

If you haven’t been to Alaska then I would say that one……otherwise the 10 day, although a second time in Alaska is amazing

We’ve been on Beyond a couple times and loved it. I heard the Edges martini bar is different. 10 night Southern Caribbean cruise would be my choice..

I’m not sure how you are expecting recommendations  based on the limited information you have provided.

Alaska since you haven’t done it.  Unless you are into hanging at a beach, snorkeling, diving then Caribbean  to be repetitive.

Just returned from our Alaska cruise on the Edge(13-20 September). Seattle to Vancouver. This was our first time doing an Alaskan cruise. We had a fantastic time but those 7 nights went way to fast. Great ports and scenery.  Even the weather wasn't as bad as we expected. Looking forward to the next Alaska cruise. We'll continue with the Caribbean in March, April time frame and longer intinaries or B2Bs.

I would do both. 10 nights in the caribbean is wonderful. 7 nights in Alaska if you have never been - or even if you have - is great too. Depends on how much time you can be away from home and what your budget is.

Based on your previous posts, you seem to be a regular cruiser.  If so, just do both but only you can decide which one to do.

Thank you.  I have heart problems need a surgery and three to four procedures after so thinking life is too short so why not go somewhere different.  I love the caribbean, but been on over 100 cruises there but I never get tired of it.  We have a sky suite on the beyond for 10 nights in the end of march, southern caribbean.  But, now thinking time to see something different such as Alaska but it is only a 7 night cruise, but we will see something different.  I am curious what you would do, 10 night Caribbean in a suite or 7 night in a suite to Alaska but its a shorter trip.  Although, I would try to find something to see and do a couple of days before the cruise in Seattle to make it a bit longer.  Just like to know what you and others would çhoose?  Is an Alaska cruise worth going?  Thank you so much.

Thats the problem, its a blue chip casino free cruise, 10 night caribbean in a suite or 7 night Alaska in a suite, although we haven't been to Alaska yet, but been on over 100 caribbean cruises.  We basically keep going to the caribbean not for the ports but for the ship.

We don't even get off at ports in the caribbean any longer, just when the cruise goes to Aruba we get off.  If we go to Alaska, we will get off at all the ports since we haven't been there, but the problem is, its a blue chip free suite cruise, 10 nights caribbean or 7 nights to a place we haven't been to, Alaska.  I am leaning to Alaska since we don't really get off at the caribbean ports any longer.

We also cruise for ship , I sometimes don’t even look at the. Ports after 60 plus Caribbean cruises . My last 20 cruises have been suites roughly have celebrity half rccl only exception is a MSc YC which we loved , next cruise I’d also MSc YC  last several charters was in royal suite on celebrity M class.

Then I would ask what is your goal of this cruise. Is it to repeat what you obviously like with the caribbean ports/ship and the casino or would you rather visit someplace you haven't been to before and see things you haven't seen yet. Only you can answer that question.

Decision only you can make but if you’ve never been to Alaska then that would be my choice.

Neither do we.  
But we decided 19 yrs ago when it was iffy if I would make it out of the hospital to do and see as many places/things while we could.  A few years  ago I was filling out visa paperwork and we had visited 35 countries at that point.   Saw the Taj, Indias Dharavi slums, game drive, Cuba, Carnival in Rio, Christ the Redeemer, slums of Peru, Russia,  lots and lots of other amazing places.  No regrets, no if only we had for us.

Do what you won’t regret.

With 100 cruises to the Caribbean, I'd choose Alaska because it's so different.  Unless you hate cold weather - you may not enjoy relaxing on deck every day in Alaska.  It's beautiful there, and not something you've done before.  I'd add a few days before/after the cruise to make it at least the same length as the other cruise.

Even though we live in Alaska we've done six or seven Alaska cruises.  They give us the opportunity to visit a very different part of our very large state.

 

If you decide to take the Alaska cruise my comment is that a RT out of Seattle would be my last choice.  The strongest itineraries are the one ways from Vancouver to either Seward or Whittier, Alaska.  But then you need to fly out to or from Anchorage.  The second option, which is also very strong, are the RTs in and out of Vancouver, B.C.

I am leaning on Alaska as it will be something different to see.  I am thinking of doing a pre cruise trip, but now trying to decide the Edge vs Summit lol.

Thank you for this information because it is exactly what I been thinking about which ship and out of which port.  Edge or Summit are my choices.

In my opinion Alaska is a must cruise. Currently my favorite of the 91 cruises I have been on so far.

Alaska hands down.  And you may want to consider a post cruise tour in Anchorage on the train and definitely visit Denali.
