Rare PacnGoNow Posted 5 hours ago #102 Share Posted 5 hours ago 9 minutes ago, Mara4166 said: Interesting, It looks like smoking and vaping in the contract is dependent on you country of residency and not where the ship sails from. No, I disagree. It would have to be out of the particular port. Doesn’t matter where you reside. If you select your cruise on the downloaded App, click on travel checklist, passenger contract. That contract is specific to that cruise.

gfkcruiser Posted 5 hours ago #105 Share Posted 5 hours ago (edited) On Item 5 for my sailings departing US to the Caribbean and the others departing Southampton, all say in last sentence of smoking and drinking paragraph that electronic smoking is allowed in cabins and designated areas but not on balconies. rosevew Posted 4 hours ago #106 Share Posted 4 hours ago 3 hours ago, Mara4166 said: This is where I went. I was logged in and in my booking. No mention of smoking anywhere in the contract for UK residents for UK cruises (or my TA starting in the UK for 2026). it also does not mention anything about bringing on alcohol. Below is what it says in section 5. Nothing about smoking, vaping or alcohol. I've been having a discussion with a staff member at SOuthampton about the alcohol policy and it not being in the passage contract. This is the response I can confirm that, as stated in our Terms and Conditions under “the contract” (Clause 2). It visibly states “The Contract shall be between Princess and the Passenger based on these Conditions and the information contained in the brochure or website.” Furthermore, as this is communicated on our website, this is by definition incorporated into the contract in line with Clause 2 of the T&Cs, which has also been reviewed and confirmed by our legal department. As it's detailed in the FAQ, that covers it. I've since had a phone conversation and said that I don't think that an FAQ can really be deemed as a part of the contract when the website/brochure can change on a whim and is frequently incorrect anyway. Surely passengers aren't required to read through the whole of the brochure and website just before each cruise to see what has changed. I was told that we would be advised of major changes like that, and I responded that it would be a first if passengers were told about significant changes. I also asked about soft drinks and water. That is not showing anywhere at all so I am awaiting an update re that.

Based on comments people who live in Germany (and other countries) and sailing from Southampton have different wording in their contract about smoking and vaping that I do. I doubt they change the wording for different sailings from the same port.

9tee2Sea Posted 4 hours ago #112 Share Posted 4 hours ago i dont smoke, but personally, I dont think its a big deal. It's better than having Cigarette/Cigar smoke drift over my way, and have a coughing fit. Better than having ashes blow over on me on a windy day. Maybe we won't see as many disgustingly filled ash trays on tables the we non-smokers have to move out of the way. If the room is smelly, unfortunately, the cabin steward will be having to deal with it. But the main draw back I will find happening, is that folks will bring their Marijuana vapes. Now the cruise line will have to deal with stoned AND drunk passengers ( or maybe those folks will pass out in lounge chairs and become chair hogs by the pool).
Rare azbirdmom Posted 4 hours ago #113 Share Posted 4 hours ago Well with all of the contract language differences this just gets more convoluted. Here is a screenshot from a Crown Princess stateroom that @CruisingFox27 posted on a different thread. It looks like the contract language about e-cigarettes may or may not be there depending on what country the passenger resides in. But once onboard the ship those who would have been led to believe that vaping isn't allowed will be in for an unpleasant surprise.
Boku Posted 3 hours ago #114 Share Posted 3 hours ago Vapes have been seized in the UK that were found to contain Spice or Cannabis. Apparently this is now a big issue.
The_Big_M Posted 3 hours ago #115 Share Posted 3 hours ago So Celebrity trialled this (in a limited way) but nixed this as it found it wasn't worth the business benefits. But then Princess thinks they can do it better than Celebrity, so brings it back without a trial. What are they thinking?
beauty1492 Posted 3 hours ago #116 Share Posted 3 hours ago In discussion with Princess, this is what I learned. yes it is in the contract but you can not smoke or vape in cabins . unless there is a special circumstance. from Princess Although shows in the passage contact that it is allowed it depend also in the situation for guest. I asked them to explain The confines of the Guest's stateroom example of this is quarantined to prevent the spread of a contagious disease to other guests. Other option is to inquire to our guest service once your onboard So clear as mud!

So, if my luggage wasn't deliver to my cabin in time for my specialty dinning reservation, this is a "special circumstance" that would allow me to wear my speedo to Crown Grill? 🤪 By the way, no one wants to see that! 🤮
laslomas Posted 2 hours ago #118 Share Posted 2 hours ago This discussion certainly highlights the fact that there are several different worded contracts around. Being in the UK I find there is nothing in mine about vapes / electronic cigarettes. I have queried this anomaly on X / Twitter, but no response from Princess, so far. I wonder if they can change the wording after one has ticked to say they have read it!!

The travel summary does indicate no smoking in staterooms and balconies, but no mention of vaping (screenshot below). Not an issue for me since I do not smoke or vape. I cannot even sit at Good Spirits on Sky due to smoke coming out of the casino triggering my asthma. I always avoid smokers and vapers so am not certain if vaping will trigger my asthma or not. @Mara4166 I believe what you posted above is information from the “travel summary” not the “passage contract”. Please confirm where this info came from. My travel summary shows what you posted above and my passage contract shows that vaping is allowed in the staterooms as others have posted. I hate the smell of the flavored vape and would be very upset if I got into a cabin where someone had been heavily vaping on the cruise prior. We had friends that did this and I could smell it every time we walked into their home. I'm happy to send along an email voicing my displeasure with this. Let's not turn this into a debate about the health merits of vaping or smoking though please. what email address do we write to Princess and voice our displeasure with this policy? TIA In regard to Singapore, it is illegal to bring vaping paraphernalia into Singapore, and it risks being confiscated and fined. As is the importing/arriving with nicotine vape liquids, or other sources of nicotine (gum, skin patches, mouth pouches/lozenges), and packets of cigarettes are subject to a tariff if over a certain amount. I found this out while researching a trip to Singapore. As for vaping in your cabin, I'm also in the Ewww group, and definitely would not want that smell there at all. I cannot stand the variety of scents/flavors offered, they all just are gross to me. Hope this a passing phase, and will soon be removed from the contract.
Torfamm Posted 2 hours ago #125 Share Posted 2 hours ago 3 hours ago, Yehootu said: I know people who vape and I'd take getting in an elevator with them over someone that has bathed in perfume. The problem with allowing vaping in passenger cabins is that I have no control over second and third hand exposure to the smell or the substances left behind on soft surfaces when people vape in a cabin prior to my arrival. If elevators become designated vaping areas, I can choose to avoid them.
