  1. Thank you Pushpit for the clarification. As you surmise this is my first time on Cunard (although not my first cruise) so am not yet got CWC benefits. Hopefully anyone who already has the option of buying at a cheaper rate can now do so. Fingers crossed that it will be available to all soon.
  2. When I log into My Cunard it is the first thing that comes up.
  3. I don’t plan on entering into an argument so will leave it there.
  4. I might not know what Cunard was charging on past cruises, but I know what it was quoting me yesterday was more than it is quoting me today. Didn’t plan to get shouted down when I posted. My only concern was to alert folks who may also benefit from this price reduction.
  5. It’s definitely a price reduction for us. Prior to this we would have had to pay £50 more to get WiFi for the whole cruise. It’s only for a limited time and then the cost will increase again, so it feels like a sale. We are first time cruisers with Cunard so have no WC reduction available.
  6. We are on Anne for her second cruise next May. T & C says sale subject to change but available now until the end of November. I assume Anne will launch with Starlink.
  7. Just noticed in My Cunard that there is a sale on WIFI due to Starlink being launched. Cost works out at $15 per day per device. That is good value compared to buying piecemeal onboard at $24 per day. I had planned to buy 24 hours at a time and spread it out. However I can now get the whole 14 day cruise covered for the equivalent of 8.75 days bought individually.
  8. I’m not sure how recently you sailed with celebrity? We sailed on Celebrity Silhouette in June this year and also July/August 2022. We saw a marked deterioration in food between the two cruises. It was part of the reason for us deciding to change to Cunard for our next cruise. On X we found the choice greatly curtailed and quality dipped in the main dining room. Choice in the buffet was extremely limited in the evening. We booked extra speciality dining to ensure better meals. I have seen few complaints on these Cunard threads about food, whereas there are multiple remarks on the X board about poor food. Our first Cunard cruise is next spring, and I am hopeful that we shall not be disappointed in the dining.
  9. We were in Bergen earlier this year. We were on a ships excursion (Celebrity). We passed the funicular and it was further from the ship than I would be comfortable to walk with my stick. Bergen is one of the rainiest places to go in Norway, and we didn’t go as high as the funicular but it was so rainy we couldn’t see much at all. It might pay to wait and see what the weather is like when you get there.
  10. Sounds like you are having an excellent day! All being well we should be there on an overnighted on QAs 2nd cruise. I’ve been researching Funchal recently and hope to be following in your footsteps. I walk with a stick so may have to limit our visit to the gardens. How long does it take to walk to the cable car from the ship?
  11. Lovely pictures. Are you in the gardens at Monte at the top of the cable car?
  12. Newbie question I know that if you book another cruise onboard that you can book with a much lower deposit, I think I read £175 per person? Are there any other benefits to booking onboard such as extra obc? Is it possible to pay a deposit and have it applied to a cruise at a later date?
  13. Be interesting to see if Anne has pop ups, as she will already have more speciality restaurants. What is the cost of Pop ups on the other ships?
  14. When available the shore excursions will show up in My Cunard. There may only be a limited offering initially but this will be added to as you near sailing.
  15. I’d like to think we are “resting” celebrity while trying another line. Once things settle down we shall look at X again - but not if the only offering from Southampton is Edge class.
  16. We are booked for May 2024 and no info re Gala nights on My Cunard yet.
  17. We have booked our first cruise on the new Cunard ship Queen Anne. We were pleasantly surprised at the price - (although they do not do all included so you need to factor in the daily service charge at least). At the time we booked Celebrity was doing a similar cruise but 3 days shorter on cruise only was £1500 more than Cunard. The X price was similar once X introduced 75% off 2nd guest. we like that room service is free, and even available on embarkation. It seems that it will be a relaxed experience. Looking forward to the afternoon tea and watching the ballroom dancing - which seems to be a real thing on Cunard. The excursions seem very well priced with a lot of choice - there are currently 82 excursions for a 14 night cruise, ranging from £49-£169. Drinks seem to be well priced. Entertainment gets good reviews. They have speciality cruises which may include the Royal Shakespeare company, the Royal ballet, and British celebrity chefs. A recent cruise had Mylene Class and Julian Lloyd Webber. All at the usual prices. Take a look at the Cunard pages on Cruise Critic - you will find very few complaints - a refreshing change from X boards.
  18. I couldn’t open the link posted at the start of the thread. Try this one - it’s from Aug 22 so maybe not up to date. Legendary wines on page 4-5 https://www.cunard.com/content/dam/cunard/my-voyage/pdfs/qm/qm_wine_list_aug_2022a.pdf
  19. Lovely name, and beautiful picture.
  20. I’m trying to decide the best way to go with wine. The wine by glass seems a little restrictive. If we bought a bottle can we drink it at a couple of dinners in the Britannia dining room?
  21. Thank you for this. As we have booked our first Cunard cruise next May it is reassuring to read your comments. It confirms we have chosen the right line to transfer to from Celebrity. We are going on Anne, so I’m hoping internet may have improved on the new ship.
  22. Would your GP give you an “in case” prescription?
  23. That would mean a charge of $2520 for us on a 14 night cruise that’s just under £2000. The cruise is only costing us 5.5k!! No way.
