  1. Nah. The market saw the picture of a tray of greasy bacon and reacted.
  2. Yes. I am green for the next two cruises. No need to fumble with paper at check in.
  3. They own billions and billions of dollars of Carnival stock and I wouldn't be surprised if they are also creditors for more billions to Carnival.
  4. It applies equally to stocks going up or down and is worthless as advice. As an example, when hiring an employee or awarding a contract, references of past performance are invaluable, even though they guarantee nothing.
  5. Glad to see pasta served with a knife and more wine - as it should be. 😁
  6. What is sad is that rules need enforcement. It says more about the decline of civilization than the decline of Carnival. Just a complete lack of respect. Carnival isn't a substitute for parenting of kids of all ages.
  7. and, of course, a review that only reports negatives might be a shill for the competition. There is a review section for in depth reviews https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise-ships/ that some might find useful. Just an observation.
  8. This looks new... We want you to have a memorable vacation but please remember a cruise ship is a shared space. Our Carnival Values underscore that everyone should feel welcome and included, and that everyone on board demonstrate care and respect towards others. Our experience has taught us that everyone has a better time when children are supervised, noise in the hallways is kept to a minimum, guests follow queues, and that a spirit of community and neighborliness is shown by all. Consistent with our commitment to safety, disruptive behavior is not tolerated and any guest whose conduct affects the comfort, enjoyment, safety or well-being of other guests or crew will be disembarked at their own expense and banned from sailing on Carnival in the future. Any violation of our Code of Conduct may result in a fine of $500 and reimbursement of expenses incurred by Carnival as a result of the detainment or disembarkation.
  9. People seem to really like the muffuletta. I couldn't bring myself to try his version - we only had a week on the ship. Hopefully his restaurant on Celebration will also offer and I'll give it a try. I know I love the original that Central Grocery offers.
  10. Oh please - on a cashless cruise you will need to use your Sail and Sign card.
  11. Diversion disallowed, and if you want to make serious money you start by ignoring stock advice found on Internet cruise boards. Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it
  12. There isn't a published direct line to the ships, but there is a number someone can call in an emergency and they can get a message to the ships.
  13. Market cap is an illusion, but hold my beer for another reason. Carnival is dual listed, so I think you would have to buy all CCL stock and CUK stock, but you wouldn't be able to do that for a static price. CUK adds another 7 billion market cap.
  14. CCL EPS (TTM) -8.31 RCL EPS (TTM) -20.79
  15. Carnival isn't the only player in the industry. None are in great shape. Some appear worse off.
  16. Royal has over $20 billion in debt and a lot less cash on hand.
  17. I'm pretty sure it was/is a positive effect for Carnival.
  18. She notes that under the Fair Credit Billing Act, when a merchant doesn't provide services as promised, consumers who used a credit card to pay for that service can file a dispute and get their money back, whether a voyage is simply cancelled, or even if the company goes bankrupt. "If the company goes out of business, your credit card will get your money back for you," she says, warning that a debit card, while it may look like a credit card, does not offer the same layer of protections.
