  1. No offense take at all.. We generally don't go to Gay Bar's at home and most of our friends are and are if I were to look at it probably 80% straight. I enjoy meeting all fellow passengers and see other as people of all colors, races and orientations.
  2. What I've seen and heard is that Celebrity will test on-board only for consecutive cruiser on Celebrity and RCL While you only have a couple hours to connect to your next you will have 2 days in which to have your test done. The home tests with either eMed or one of the proctoring services using any test may be your best alternative. You could try while at see if you have a premium service or wait until morning of arrival and take it using you Cellular Phone (if you are comfortable with technology and phone has the capabilities. ). Services like OnPoint Testing uses Zoom and up to 4 can test at the same time, using any brand of home tests (must be unopened box)
  3. While we didn't request an accessible Suite we were assigned one. The cabins are generally a bit larger than the standard Sky Suite with an area to park a Electric chair. Our room was arranged a little different allowing for plenty of space for someone in a wheelchair. Also the safe in the closet was at a lower level for easy access. They also had a ramp allowing access to the Veranda. The bathroom has a high toilet with Bars on two walls around it. The sinks and mirror are at a lower level and have paddles to turn on the faucets instead of smaller knobs. The shower has no dams so a wheel chair could be driven into it. They have support rails and a fold down seat. The only problem I observed was the shower. Without a dam water would flow out of the shower when seas were high and we would have to build a dam out of rolled up towels to keep the bathroom somewhat dry. Both the Retreat Sundeck (lower level only) and the Retreat are wheelchair accessible. The Retreat Sundeck spa has a power lift to assist people with mobility problems to access. As with all of the other suites you will have the All Included - Premium Internet and Drink Packages as well as tips.
  4. I generally tip in U.S. dollars for the simple reason that most of the crew have not been permitted off the ship and don't have the opportunity to use Euros. If the ship gives the crew the same exchange as customers they are probably loosing money in the currency transfer. During Covid we've also asked some of the crew we are in daily contact with if they need anything ashore. We've got some pretty unusual request e.g. tins of canned sardines, but was happy we could give back. Having said that, the crew appreciates any gratuity in any currency.
  5. Thanks -- I'll try to steer clear of Lyle for requests. We had a trainee on one of our last cruise and he would forget to do things like make a dinner reservation. He was a nice guy but definitely wasn't a concierge.
  6. First off - Yes you need premium and even then if badwidth is thin may have trouble. To my knowledge all cabin on the ship from inside cabins to Suites have TV's with HDMI connections. You connect your Stick (Roku or Firestick) to the HDMI and then change source to which HDMI you are connected to. I've posted a number of tutorials on how to do this. You first need to connect to the Ships Wifi and have to log in with your credential. Most of the sticks allow this by using your phone and a code. You can watch anything that you either have access to or a subscription to. Some services work better than others YouTube, Netflix and YouTube TV have very good buffering and quality my shift to very low quality if bandwidth is limited. Yes you can also stream it from your laptop using a HDMI and supposedly cast from an Android devise but i've had trouble with this. Mainly you have to pick your TV and when it pops up there are 40-50 tv's all listed with the same name.
  7. Is Lyle the "Suite Concierge in training" a Butler Trainee, Retreat Concierge or Suite Manager in training? Just curious as the naming convention that Celebrity has shifted to gets confusing at times.
  8. Great idea. I had a couple magnets I used in the past for golf hats.
  9. I have to agree. You would think that both the Contractor for Apple and Celebrity would want to stock their shelves full with all the OBC that people want to spend. Maybe their margins are better on non-apple products.
  10. That may be the reason that some report Magnets working while others aren't successful. We learn new stuff every day here on CC.
  11. Having lived in Ireland for 3 years and Iain being from Scotland there are so many words that have such different meanings. I really loved Killarney such a beautiful are of the country, I hope it hasn't changed much.
  12. Mine is a B2B2B but at the end of each consecutive cruise we will have to be tested. We will have to have 2 B2B tests for the 3 cruises plus a pre-test That has pretty much been the standard for shorter B2B's also.
  13. I can only imagine. Ok... really going off topic. I may be a little off color but I was on a flight once and a lovely British lady next to me seemed very distressed - I asked if there was a problem. She explained that she came to America to meet her fiance's parents. They were at the airport to see her off and said their mouths dropped when she hugged her fiance and said "Keep your pecker up" as she went through security --- What did I say? (meaning keep your spirits high). When I discreetly told her we both had a great laugh.
  14. Curious looking at your picture - during revolution did they change the wall panels to the driftwood colored walls. I believe that is what made them not very happy with magnets? In your picture the walls look like the older white.
  15. Hope you stay negative. We've not been as lucky but not letting that slow us down.
  16. While I'm not booked on a 5 night cruise, I talked with Corporate about B2B testing on our upcoming B2B2B to Greenland. Was advised there would be B2B testing the morning before turn around day. They say they expect it to continue for the remainder of the 2022 season. I'm sure things could change but I'm not holding my breath and will probably pre-test using some free kits (free to me) the night before.
  17. Wow a bit of stereo typing for sure. I guess all the straights like to eat early. Lots of them will even drink with us gays that choose not to drink at the Martini bar. OK..no insult intended - just got carried away. I'll never forget walking into a large restaurant in Queensland, Au with a big sign - No Fags this side (meaning of course cigarettes) it did catch my attention.
  18. This is the last I've seen and is probably old
  19. I've been in AQ and SS on Summit and after revolution the walls would not even hold he Do Not Disturb Magnet. It would slide down the wall but connected well to the back of the door. I didn't have a heavy magnet to try hanging anything on it.
  20. My experience has been that if using NR OBC you are given Promotional Chips and if you win you are paid in regular chips. The regular chips can be cashed out but if you retire your Promotional Chips they go back in your account as NR OBC.
  21. Fun watching your sail away Whoever is controlling the Zoom camera really zoomed in
  22. While not prohibited, many reports by others cruisers that they find them annoying unless user uses ear phones or keeps the volume down.
  23. I'm not saying you can't smuggle an extension cord or other items. I did for many years myself until I got caught - Many are also successful with bringing more wine or liquore aboard. Here's the list Prohibited Items: Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas. Sharp Objects, including all knives and scissors. (Note: Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed. Scissors with blade length less than 4 inches are allowed.) Illegal Drugs & Substances CBD Oil / CBD Products Candles, Incense, Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, Travel Steamers & Hot Plates. (Items that generate heat or produce an open flame. This includes heating pads, clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense and any other item that may create a fire hazard. NOTE: The only exception to this policy are curling irons and hair straighteners. Matches and normal lighteners are allowed onboard. However ""torch lighters"" and novelty lighters that look like guns are not allowed onboard. Torch lighters emit a powerful concentrated flame, and therefore are prohibited. Hoverboards Martial Arts, Self Defense, and Sports Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks. Flammable Liquids and Explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks. Hookahs & Water Hookah Pipes. HAM Radios Baby Monitors Electrical Extension Cords Dangerous Chemicals, including bleach and paint. Perishable Food & Meat Products Alcoholic Beverages (Note: On boarding day, each stateroom may bring up to two 750 ml bottles of wine or champagne. Guests who purchase alcohol bottles onboard, in a port-of-call, or bring more than the two permitted bottles on boarding day, will have their items safely stored by the ship. These bottles will be returned on the last day onboard for enjoyment once home. Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will not be returned.)
