  1. We're actually doing Singapore to LA.
  2. We sa it on the Island pre retro and loook forward to seeing it again
  3. One of the factors in HALs decision is that it's International markets that got devistated during Covid are still a money loser and not forecasted to come back for another 2-3 years. Couple that with having to replace the 717's, engine repairs on the A321 Neos and the introduction of a new fleet, the 787 the financial outlook wasn't the best.
  4. This morning's news had the CEOs of both airlines on and they are saying for now, that it will be operated as 2 seperate brands. The first time in US aviation, but not in International. BA and Swiss Air, KLM, Air France and a few more.
  5. We're looking at booking a 32 day cruise on the Coral. We've sailed on the Island both before and after retro and enjoyed it both times. Does the Coral have burgers on the Lido deck, or only Pizza? I know there's no "casual dining" venues, but do they do any pop-up type of venue. We have 9 days at sea and it would be a good option on those days. We normally book a far aft room, but just finished a TA on the Regal in a forward cabin and liked the location. With the buffet up front, and having to walk through the spa to get to the aft of the lido deck we're thinking of a forward location again. How's the ride up front on the smaller ship. We don't mind bouncing around, helps us sleep.
  6. I make sure to pack Gatorade Zero packets to keep hydrated. My 15 beers a day don't quite satisfy the hydration one needs😀
  7. I usually book a "Interline" fare which is a discounted fare. I was hopeful that the app would get me my shareholders OBC, but that didn't happen, got turned down on both bookings🙁
  8. I go back to when we were really an Ohana, the Mr Magoon days.Dunkerly was the one who started bringing in mainland people ih upper management and bypassing local people that had been with the company for many years. Dunkerly did transition the airline to the Airbus fleet and was rewarded with a Director position at Airbus. The present CEO Peter Ingram put his house up for sale 3 weeks ago, wonder where he'll land.
  9. Hawaiian Didn't take over Aloha, Aloha failed in 2nd bankruptcy mostly due to Mesa Air. Read the history Same song, different story.Monopoly from the West Coast? How do you figure that? No one except Alaska and HAL fly from the West Coast to Hawaii? Alaska said they'd keep the Virgin brand through the transition. See anything left of the Virgin brand? Again, how do you figure this? SWA enters markets where it can get market share. They have the capability of planes and gate space to do this. Nothing to stop them Just might have some insight as I was a pilot for HAL for and my wife's father was a VP. Hopefully the Hawaiian brand continues, but a business is a business. Dollars don't care! Southwest has thrown a big wrench into the Inter-island market and this take over doesn't have very much for the DOT to contest. Very few overlapping markets and a good overall market merger. Glad I'm retired.
  10. Whatever you do, DON'T USE THE CHAT OPTION! 3hrs of my life I'll never get back. The frustration with the picture taking is by far better then dealing with the idiots on the chat line.
  11. Each leg, we just did a B2B. We didn't use all 4 on the first one and it didn't roll over and we got 4 more on the 2nd leg. What irks me is that first leg was 10 days and second 15 and we got 2 each on both. Princess should relook this. Next one is a 10day followed by 30 day, same benefits on both.
  12. What's a checkbook?😃 Auto Bill pay is the way to go. I think my dusty checkbook register is at least 10yrs old. Extra supply of meds, start early to get approvals. A good selection of books on a kindle. The internet is good enough these days to stream and facetime loved ones. It's difficult to impossible to download on a kindle on the ship.
  13. When she wants it my wife orders a 7oz tail, for an upcharge, in the main dining room.
  14. The "ship" laundry as in send out, not self serve.
  15. Several Choices 1) Are youa Carnival Share holder? 7 day=$100 x 2 = $200...14day= $250.00 in OBC 2) If you have cabins book for both legs= No change, same as 14day Very little done on turn around 3) If unlucky and have to change cabins, bummer but room steward will help get things out of old cabin( so they can turn it around) and into new cabin ( new cabin for other steward)
  16. Sabatini"s- Calamari, Braised Short Rib pasta and Veal Rack Crown Grill- Either Chilean Sea Bass or Lamb Chops ( I broke a tooth on a bite of my Wifes fillet) Sorry, Wife likes her steaks, I'm good with the Lamb or Bass, we are on a Crown Grill pass for awhile.
  17. Nice, a sofa that doesn't look broken down. Guess that's the advantage of being on a newer ship. On the Regal on our last cruise, I found most of the welds broken on one section of the sofa, and those were fixes. Room steward used zip ties to "try" and fix it.
  18. I've never had a problem with the service desk, but I'm usually asking why I was charged for a drink when I have a drink package. They just take it off right then and there. You got a "special" guy.
  19. They usually have the Taco station everyday in the "Horizon Bistro". It's a sepreate area from the Horizon Court. Entering from the pool area, Bistro,Pastry,Court.
  20. We did a 14 day Alaska cruise from Vancouver that was very similar to yours. It was sold as 2 7 days or a 14 day. There was a meeting in the theater for those doing the full 14. We were off hiking around We waited for the crowds to disembark, then went hiking around Whittier
  21. Mahalo, I sent an email today asking when their excursions would open for our dates in 2025. Said they came highly recommended and we didn't want to miss getting a reservation.
  22. Who would you call? A PVP who can barely do reservations? If you have a suggestion, I'm all ears.
