  1. We just came off the icon. We dined in hibachi. I had lobster and scallops and got sick. Never again
  2. We just got off the Icon, We had the unlimited dining package. We were in a suite but enjoy the specialty restaurants. We dined in Chops for dinner twice and lunch once- Giovanni's twice for dinner and once for lunch, Hooked for dinner once and Hibachi once (got sick from seafood at Hibachi) They actually charged additional some Entertainment charge- but no entertainment! Empire supper club was super expensive- addition $140 pp with the dining package so no dinner at that venue for us. Didn't eat sushi as not to our liking. We had daily breakfast-except one in Coastal Kitchen- other lunches in windjammer, the grove and aqua dome market. We really enjoyed- Chops, Giovanni's, and Hooked- We certainly got value with the package which we purchased on sale. Clearly ate too much as I gained 5 pounds. Enjoy your cruise
  3. Our favorite suite is the Crown Loft- close to costal kitchen and suite lounge- seaview quiet- two bathrooms and tons of storage. Some cannot do steps- but if you can, it is heaven! We also enjoy the Grand suites- IMO once you have the suite perks- including the suite deck- hard to go back to any other cabin/suite. Enjoy your cruise
  4. Have them. Saw a video on YouTube. One person had things hanging and all over the room. I cannot stand the clutter. Will probably leave extra clothes in suit case under bed
  5. I have seen a few videos on YouTube. So the suites have been occupied.
  6. My DH and I will be sailing on the Icon. We are booked in a surfside family suite. Looking at the videos, the closet and drawer space seem very limited. We do not travel light. The price worked for us as we like the suite amenities. Any comments about hanging and storage? Also is it noisy? Hope our move up bid is accepted! Thanks
  7. Never got a free dinner- nor lunch in SP restaurant and we always sail in suites-with a good TA, they might give you a free lunch or dinner in a sp restaurant as a perk. Enjoy your cruise.
  8. We have also been to cocoCay and Labadee multiple times- still enjoy getting off the ship as always something new-on CoCo Cay the beach club is great- Enjoy your day on board- we no longer get off in PR if a stop on a ship as they typically arrive at 4 PM- we have been to PR multiple times.
  9. Just call your TA and ask them to send you verification . Enjoy your cruise.
  10. Another question, we were on the Oasis a couple of months ago, in a CLS, we got free cocktails, not just wine, beer and soda, during happy hour- I believe 5-8. They didn't count with our vouchers. Is this still the case on all ships? Things keep changing-
  11. We are in a sky class suite. Will we have turn down service nightly? Any removed perks from the Oasis Class Sky class suites? Thanks
  12. Kids are very accepting- as the song goes- "You've got to be taught". Just explain to your son that some people aren't very nice- and to try to ignore them. But definately advise the kids club attendants the day you enroll your son.
  13. we go on the ship a week from Saturday and I will report back. All supposed to be wonderful!
  14. We tip $15-20 extra per day for good service. Drinks we give $1 to the server per drink- also a could of $$ if we get room service. If we have a concierge or butler we also tip.
  15. Worth bidding if you are interested. Since the ship has so many regular balcony cabins, with a reasonable bid going from an inside cabin to a balcony cabin odds are pretty good. Even a ship that appears booked, cancellations do happen. Going from a balcony to a suite- because of inventory is less likely. Good luck
  16. For those who have been to coco cay- years ago- boy has it changed! It is wonderful! So much has improved. They have adults only section, a fancy beach club with great meal service- all over the island you can take a tram and find so many food and beach options. If you have kids- a wonderful water park. While some things do cost extra, we consider it a shore X and are willing to spend the money. Haven't been to labadee in years- it was meh. Hopefully it has improved as we have that stop on our summer Symphony cruise..
  17. We have the symphony 9 night cruise booked for August. Since we live on Long Island, NY, we really love a no fly cruise in the summer. No hassle with airports and cheaper as we fly in a day before if we leave from Florida. The Symphony is beautiful. It is an oasis class ship- newer and more venues then the Freedom class. Been to Bermuda multiple times as we used to sail on Celebrity in the summer- but they no longer do Bermuda in August- Found Bermuda boring after a few sailings, the town is meh- While we probably will stay on the ship in Port Canaveral- we enjoy Coco Cay and Nassau. To me, the ship is our destination. Important to be on a newer modern ship. We didn't like the Anthem as we found the layout not great. Guess to each his/her own. Enjoy your cruise.
  18. We enjoyed the Edge when it came out- and really loved the Apex! Cannot wait to try the Beyond! However we have a couple of Royal cruises booked in the next few months- will have to wait until next year. Our favorite restaurant was Eden- we also enjoyed the steak house- Luminae was great for breakfast and some lunches- but we prefer the speciality restaurants.
  19. I'm in! Could use a weight loss cruise! LOL
  20. We had a negative experience on the Adventure- first, we were in a junior suite but the decor was shabby and in need of renovations. It was two years ago- and your pictures of your cabin look renovated. Also, the coffee machine in the lounge was broken about 75% of the time. See you had the same problem. Royal- time to replace. We also didn't like the old school cafeteria style model. So much better with stations for various types of food. Found the food in the MDR meh- We will stick to Oasis class ships. We are sailing on the Icon in March and are looking foward to that experience.
  21. We also love the Silhouette and Reflection. Our favorite S class ships- sailed on both multiple times. However we sailed in January on the Silhouette and both my DH and I got very sick the last couple of days. A lady in the solarium was coughing badly and we sat near her. When we got home, I had multiple tests for Covid, RSV, pneumonia and many viruses- all negative. Went to ENT and was prescribed antibiotics and nasal and cough medication. Was told I had a bad sinus infection. I am still coughing! Be careful, wear a mask in the elevators and run away for anybody who appears ill! We have another cruise in three weeks. Hopefully, I will be better by then!
