Thanks for the review. Although I'll be on a different ship in a week (Meraviglia) I love that there will be fresh grilled fish at the lunch buffet.

Personal hygiene and parents not controlling their children are 2 separate topics. If a kid is sitting on the stairs, blocking me, my foot (maybe even bare foot) will move him/her. And I will, had have (not well received) asked parents to control their children (ie-running around the stage in the atrium when someone was performing on NCL).

Same thing here....by law the Westchester drivers cannot pick up in NYC, so he has to go back to Westcheter alone. I guess it depends how far in NJ you are, and if tolls are involved...if it's worth it.

Hmmm....interesting. I take Lyft often from Westchester to Manhattan, and the driver always has my address. But, they keep "finding another driver" until they get one who will actually make the trip. Maybe your driver didn't bother to check the instructions.........

The driver should know where you are going when he accepts the job.

The $50 credit is based on booking 9-12 months in advance. Assuming you booked together you should both have it. Be careful in adjusting....if your're out of the "9-12 month range" you could lose what you have. Maybe the $50 credit is for something else...like part of the booking promotion.

@titangasSpeaking of the theatre....I know the butler "escorts" you to the reserved seats. Do you know if YC guests can just go in, any time, without reservations? To both shows? (When we were with "the masses", in 2019, they wouldn't less us in for the second show.) My husband has this "first row" thing...and doesn't mind sitting there for a half hour pre-show. Your info has been really helpful...I'll be reading whatever you post. PS-Lorraine Crosby is listed on our app! Very excited...

@titangasThanks for this info. I assume the 2 outlets by the desk were ok for US plugs and I won't need an adapter. Was there an outlet in the bathroom? We're a lot older than you....been doing multiple trips to the bathroom at night for decades! DH usually brings a nite light for that. Pizza is my indulgence. Being that the cabin isn't condusive to dining, do they allow pizza in the Topsail? Delivered to the dining room? Or will I be banished to the pool deck?

Question: What were the hours for YC dining room? What were the hours for YC buffet?

I'll be in a YIN on 4/29....16010. First timer for YC! Am looking forward to reading this review....and sharing it with my husband. He had major surgery recenty and I want to avoid long lines and standing.

An 8 nite YIN on MSC Mera cost less than a 7 nite guarantee "no frills" balcony on NCL, both out of NYC, for the same week this month. Thanks to CC I've read about weeks when the Haven was overrun by groups of unruly kids with minimal (if any) adult supervision. And, weeks when "obvious groups" in the gereral population made it unpleasant for others. It's the luck of the draw....you never know who else is going to be onboard. If security, or someone, can't control "pushing and shoving" I'd be spending my money elsewhere.

I haven't been on MSC since 10/2019. As far as the food, and I'm not a picky eater at all, if it's that important to you, their food wasn't "something to sail for". I lived on pizza for a week...now that was good pizza. The shows were excellent. International crowd...which I liked. Not "Carnval people" for sure. Going again in 2 weeks...but YC this time.

I don't know about the height of the tub. As a short person, based on NCL experiences....they are too high for me. When I book a guaranteed cabin, I do into it knowing that if I am assigned one with a tub, I'd upgrade to a specific cabin with a walk-in shower. I'd call and ask if an upgrade is possible. Another possiblity is book the spa and use the shower there.

@mscdivina2016 You can afford the YC; a $1500 loss isn't a financial hardship. You'll get another b'day....every year...for the rest of your life! There comes a time to move on. It's your choice...... enjoy your cruises or alienate the staff.

I'm really trying to figure this out. Maybe my comprehension is slow...but, you had a YC booked. MSC decided to make it a salsa cruise (what exactly is a salsa cruise?) and you had a choice: refund or lesser cabin with no YC benefits. You chose the refund, What do you expect from "existing reservations", the staff on the ship for your current sailing/and or benefits that have been to you for prior sailings? Did you have flight/hotel reservations? Did you have time off from work? Did you lose any time/money because of the fiasco? Sounds to me like you're making this into a permanent cash cow. I mean no disrespect, and this would have angered me too....I just want to know what your loss was.

PS....... Is the restaurant open all day....or limited hours?

Meraviglia! We've had a really hard (healthwise for DH) winter....I never looked so forward to a cruise. I booked us in YC strictly because I don't want him to have to wait in lines etc. (and the price was right), Now he's looking forward to another Ocean Cay perk...the sit down meal with lobster roll!

I always say "drinks are wasted on us" in YC because we barely drink....well, ice cream won't be wasted on us (not for me anyway....DH does not have my sweet tooth), Just 3 weeks to go....getting all excited!!
